One of the worst experiences I've ever had, discrimination should never be tolerated…read more I don't normally write reviews, but I'm deeply disturbed and outraged by the treatment I received at this store today. As a customer who walked in before anyone else, I respectfully waited at the counter and placed my order. The employee who shares an ethnic background with the next customer who entered ignored me completely and prioritized him, despite the fact that I was there first and already being served. This wasn't a simple oversight. It was deliberate, clear, and hurtful. I was overlooked and treated as if I didn't matter. The only difference between me and the other customer? I'm not Asian. That's what made this so painful and personal. Let me be clear I respect all cultures. I work in an area that is predominantly Asian and have always treated everyone with kindness and professionalism. But respect must go both ways. What happened today was a disgrace not just to me, but to the very values this country is supposed to stand for equality, fairness, and dignity for everyone. To the owner of this store: you need to seriously evaluate who you hire and what kind of environment you're creating. When your staff chooses who to serve based on race or familiarity rather than fairness, it sends a message that some people matter more than others. That's not just bad business it's discrimination. To those in the community regardless of background I urge you to hold businesses accountable. This kind of behavior doesn't just hurt one person, it divides communities and fosters resentment where there should be understanding. I will never shop here again, and I will encourage others to do the same until this issue is acknowledged and addressed properly. We all deserve to be treated with basic human respect. Nothing less.

Whether it's rum or wine, the female manager makes the best recommendations. Every single wine she recommended has become my favorite. Best of all, they have some unique wines, as well as organic ones that give me zero hangovers, that I can't find anywhere else (even in union square where I work). Prices are reasonable, the manager is friendly and has a great taste. This is THE recommended liquor store for everyone in Queens. PS I'm surprised at some of the comments below about the female manager being racist. I'm a racial minority (Asian) myself and never once did I feel any of the aforementioned vibes from anyone in thid store. I guess these perceptions are quite subjective.

Cold cheek biting windy weather, having to pass through a less than spectacular neighborhood -- I like this plan and so I turned up my collar, pulled at my laces and welcomed the unknowns of the walk and I relished that feeling for a moment prior to setting my first step north by north west. As I had hoped, I encountered some oddities and past memories of being here for the short stint in Holy Cross HS as a frosh waiting for the bus at 179th street, the last stop on the E or F, to go any further, its happening above ground. Ducking in to Discount Wine and Liquor you know the street urchins are watching and wondering as my appearance smacks of out of town-ness, however, my walk says "I've been around" and if our eyes crossed and caught equal horizons this would cease to be a guess. But I am having fun, fun, fun and thought a little black spiced rum might just pep my step, I looked to my watch for double digit confirmation as having a drink beginning with a single digit is reserved for Mardi Gras. The owner was the jolliest of fellows and snapped to from his far end counter position to warmly greet me and inquire as to my day and how it was going and I immediately liked the cut of this mans jib. We conversed briefly and I'd have enjoyed furthering it but the wind wasn't gonna carry me home, so I paid and tucked and wished him a "fairly well" and continued my hike. Incredible selection of wines and liquors that could have you walking the aisles, reading labels or just looking at the pictures in which case the wine aisles are where you wanna be. Clean from aft to stern, well lit and prices that might be in my future travels for.

The desk where the device was where you use your card and then put you pin into was in the front of the store. After flashing my card over the device and then putting in my pin number i glanced above me. Not four feet above me was a camera that was pointed down on the counter. It recorded both my number off my debit card and my pin number that I manually put into the device. Since no one was around me at that time I didn't think that I should need to be careful when putting my Pin number into the device. When I asked the owner why a camera was recording at such a close proximity she told me it was to record cash transactions. I then told her that it was also recording both my debit card number and my pin number. She told me the camera would not be able to see my numbers. I then informed her that I am an electrician. That I have installed many cameras in the past and know that a camera four feet away can see every detail. She then got defensive and started raising her voice. I went home and cancelled my card.
