The staff is super nice, but I asked the doctor about a concern I had with my dog and she told me it was nothing to worry about. Well, it is something to worry about and now I'm going to have to spend another couple hundred to fix the issue, when she could have just listened to me the first time I was there. For that reason, I would recommend another vet. They are really nice but there is no point in going if they aren't going to fix the issue you went for. read more

Love this vet. Not sure why the other person thinks they're so expensive, but compared to others nearby they are cheaper. The vets are really nice and I've never had a problem calling and getting an appointment when my dog is sick. (I've even walked in to get my dog's nails trimmed or a kennel cough shot without a problem.) Vets are very knowledgeable and thorough. read more

Friendly, caring staff and veterinarians. They're wonderful and skilled with pricing that's reasonable. I think they're less than other nearby vets. They practice COVID distancing with safety for their furry patients and people and make it easy with their drive-up delivery service. They answer their phone! The staff listens to your needs and gives you straight forward advice. Best of all, they make time to see you with little notice and try to work you in even when they're already filled up. Our beloved cat is responding well thanks to their care - despite her many challenges. read more

Expensive: that is all I really have to say. They were nice and all that, but I really cannot understand why they charge so much for a routine problem. However, I cannot say I am surprised. I have run into this kind of thing before. The consultation was a lot more expensive than the meds , but I will have to pay for the consultation again if the problem comes up again. Now, what's new? If this happens again, I will just go to another vet until I found one that is reasonable, if one exists; one who will just refill the prescription. This is the last animal I'll rescue. She is real sweet, but between all the expenses and laws, I cannot afford to rescue any abandon dogs or cats anymore. This is not a matter of the treatment. They have helped with major health issues, and always offer options and work with you to create a plan for dealing with problems that require long-term medication and care. They have cared for one of my pets since she was still a young dog, and helped us keep our rescue that was a super-senior healthy and happy for his remaining years. We took our puppy here for scabies treatments after we adopted her. The staff was ok- not overly friendly. We had to leave her with them for a few hours to do the treatments. When we got her back she was shaking uncontrollably and freezing cold. The 2nd week when we got her back we noticed she had developed a sneeze that evening. We think she got kennel cough from being boarded however they board them in the back when you drop them off. I called for some advice and explained the symptoms. The receptionist could have explained a little what it might be and suggest making an appt but instead she was just like "um ok so do you want to bring her in...?" Also my roommate brings her dog in and said that a huge man held her dog down to the table while she got shots- makes you think who is handling your dog in the back when you're not around to see. Not to mention this place is pretty pricey. Despite its convenient location to me I will not be going back, we now go elsewhere. Trust me when you go to an average vet and then experience an above average vet you can really tell the difference. Don't settle for this place! read more

I have been at this clinic several times over the past four years. It has been a very painful experience. Four years ago, my female cat died while boarding at Five Points Animal Clinic. I did not know what to think of it at the time because I had never experienced the death of a pet and I was unfamiliar with cat diseases. I was told it was an incurable case of feline aids. However, my cat was bought in a pet store from a shelter that guaranteed that the cat did not have feline aids. But it died anyway, while boarding at Five Points Animal Clinic. Then, earlier this week my current, male cat had stayed at the clinic for a urinary problem. The catheter procedure set me back $900. That was not enough, because I was also informed that my cat was scared and had bitten a dog. Of course, my cat was scared in view of the procedure, but how on earth could it have been kept anywhere near another animal while staying at this clinic after a medical procedure? Shouldn't the clinic keep animals away from each other? Now, because of the biting, HDEC will visit me in my house to check that my (indoor) cat (who never gets outside) is kept quarantined in my house, although the biting took place while the cat was at Five Points Animal Clinic and there obviously not properly cared for. The vet told me of the biting with a smile on her face as if it was all a joke. Having officials from HDEC visit me in my home, because of the clinic's incompetence, is not funny to me. The vet also sought to make light of the situation by joking that she gets bit all the time. Apparently, the multitude of this vet's inadequacies amuses her! I have drawn the only right and proper conclusion from this sad state of affairs. I will avoid Five Points Animal Clinic, never ever go there again, and inform anybody I know with vets of the clinic's horrendous practices. read more

I can't say enough good things about Five Points Animal Clinic. If you are looking for a vet in the Columbia area, give them a try. We have been bringing our Dog and Cat here for the past 2 years. I find them to be reasonably priced and the customer service is amazing. In particular Dr. Gallery is more than happy to answer any questions that you may have about your pet (he must have asked me 5 times if I had any questions). The staff is attentive and friendly. Every time I have left feeling confident that my animals have received the best veterinary care possible. I feel as though they are always given a thorough exam, and every step is thoroughly explained. One more thing I have to mention is they always seem to be on time! I have never sat in the waiting room more than 5 minutes. read more

They have cared for our rescue dogs for 8 years now, and they walked us through the difficulties of aging pets who require loving care and long-term pain management.
