I came here during lunch hour 12-1pm and it was busy. I waited in line and as I waited I asked what is good here I never have ate here before. He told me to get the bacon cheeseburger and so I did. I told them to put "everything" and add some hot sauce. I got an order of little fries as well with a cup of water. The burger was $8.99 and the fries were around $3.00. They called up my number and my order came in a brown paper bag. I looked in the bag and there was so much fries. I sat down and I took out the fry cup. The cup was tiny! I guess they overflow their fries on purpose because my friend's bag was also full of fries. I opened up the burger and I was pleasantly surprised. The burger had two patties and was a nice size. I took a bite of the burger and my mouth enjoyed that shit so much. I could taste the sauce, the grilled onions, the veggies, the beef patties covered in the thin bun and I knew I would enjoy the rest of the burger. I was very satisfied with my meal. Dat burger! I have walked into five guys once before, but I couldn't stand the greasy smell of burger and fries, so I ran out immediately. I guess that's my inner hardcore vancouverite screaming "thou shall eat no fat". However, a few months later, a friend and I decided to split a burger there, so either of us feels guilty about it. Man, that was the best decision ever!!! The burger is not nearly as greasy as I imagined, and it was a double, so I am very glad we shared. The restaurant provides free water and peanuts while you wait for the burger, because it's all freshly made and it takes time. Came here for lunch yesterday. It was a weekday. Got there around 11:15am for an early lunch and to beat the lunch rush. Had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was about $14-$15 after taxes. Pretty pricey for a burger joint. But the burgers and fries here are delicious and are piping hot when you get it They make everything to order here. So you can definitely taste the freshness and hotness when you get it. Which is also the downfall. There was no more than 2 people ahead of me and I easily had to wait a good 7 minutes. I can't even imagine how long you would have to wait during a rush. Guess you get eat the free peanuts they provide while you wait. Burgers and fries are definitely delicious. If you compare this place to other fast food burger joints, you might find it difficult to accept the prices here. And if you are in a rush, definitely avoid! Underwhelming. $16 for a burger, fries & refillable pop? Steep, wouldn't you say? For that price you can sit down for a meal elsewhere. Granted, the burgers and fries are pretty tasty. But what kinda nails that coffin is how messy the eating area is. Been there twice and it was the same both times. The kind of mess you see around a concert or festival eatery, temporary locations. First there are the peanut shells all over. It's nice of them to have those available but with them comes a mess. Then you only get take out baggies, no trays. Balancing your food on top of the napkins and paper bag to keep them off the table is sooo much fun. Now, if you have conditions all set up for messes to happen, is that a disaster? Not if you deal with it. But they don't. The tables are rarely wiped down at all, so it's a question of picking the least dirty one on which to eat. Makes you wish for a tray all the more. The workers are busy as it is, so what's probably needed is some extra hands tasked with keeping the place cleaner. Not enough profit margin off my $16 burgers to pay for it, I guess. read more

I'm so confused by the 3-star or less reviews on this place! My husband and I eat here every Saturday - no joke, it's our post workout treat meal! - and we love everything about it. Food is consistently amazing, portion sizes are just right. But the main thing that keeps us coming back is the staff. Bernard and the rest of the team are fantastic, you can tell they like their jobs and take pride in what they do. There's a woman who keeps the restaurant clean and makes sure people take advantage of the free peanuts. SO cute. We eat at Five Guys in all the cities we travel to, and have had great experiences everywhere, but the Robson store is hands down our favourite. read more

I'll admit that this place, when it opened, made a very good burger. It was simple, had a lot of flavor and was fresh. They overloaded my bag with too many fries to eat. My food was prepared rather quickly. Since then, they've gone waaaay downhill for me. Poor service. Burgers made incorrect or super sloppy. So much ketchup soaking into the bun that it seems the consistency of pudding. Hot dog looked like it was strangled. or like someone with a nympho grip choked it?!?! Coke is either flat or out of syrup. Like a sad individual I kept track. 6 different times. I really liked this place in the beginning and I recommended it a few times to people. So I heard about 5 guys burgers and fries. They are known for their fresh burgers and their over the limit fries capacity. I ordered their double bacon cheeseburger with cajun fries. As I was waiting for my food, I noticed that they would put the fries basket inside the bag along with the burger and they would just dump the fries inside like as if fries were free. The good thing was that they put the receipt on the bag so that way we would not be tasting ink on our fries. At first bite, the beef was fresh and the bacon was very crispy all the way through. The fries had enough salt and cajun spices to cover entire salmon to make a cajun salmon dinner. It was very delicious overall, but if they would tone down the salt, I would be happier. (It's all in the preferences) +.5 for putting the receipt on the bag. +.25 star for free peanuts. (Hence they use peanut oil) read more

Set in downtown Vancouver on Robson Street, this popular  spot for patrons in the business and shopping district is a "must" visit place to sample their almost "mile high" burgers.  French fries with the skin on were great, too.  I ventured down there with a couple of friends on a holiday Monday and we ordered the all dressed burger.  It didn't disappoint as it as my first time to this place.  It was very filling & "finger licking good".  While waiting for the burgers, we snacked on salted non-shelled peanuts wirh unlimited refills.  Food was 5  stars, service was OK, however, you should be prepared for hoards or large groups of teenagers hogging up most of the dining tables if u decide to eat in the restaurant.  At the end of my visit, I made my mind up that this would be the only time I would visit  this place as the management has no control on how long those teenagers stay.  The price of the burger is reasonable - mid- double digits.I speculate that it's because of the double $ prices that these teenagers sit at tables meant for 4 & invite their friends to sit & gab when actually only 2 out of the group of 6 actually ordered.  I definitely will not be returning unless it's a  day when I pass by and notice the  place is very quiet before I go in to order 'cause the burgers are worth the trek down to Robson Street. read more

Fries are fantastic! Kennebec fried in peanut oil. Taste and texture fantastic and the regular size was huge and overflowing into the rest of the bag. I ordered a regular cheeseburger with bacon, mushrooms and a few other toppings as you can add what ever toppings you want for one set price. What surprised me is the regular burger is actually a double burger and it is enormous! Thought is was tasty but bun was not up to the job. Very flimsy cheap quality bun that fell apart within 3 bites. I would rate this burger as better than MacDs, better than Wendy's and perhaps similar in size and quality to the Burger King Whopper. I would rate In N Out and A&W teenburger as superior, but not by a huge margin. Fries were definitely some of the best I have ever had. Next time I go I would likely order the small burger, which is in fact, a true regular size one patty burger. The "regular" or double burger is likely big enough to satisfy 2 people if cut in half. Prices are more expensive than most burger places. I would return though. read more

After we complained directly with the store, the manager told us we have a store credit when we come to the store next time. She said they would write it down in the book. My first visit to 'Five Guys' here in sunny Vancouver. This is a chain restaurant, so service and staff were adequate for the job. It was busy this afternoon so prepare yourself to stand in two lines, one for your order, one to pick up your order. No trays, everyone gets their order in a 'to go' type bag, which is a little different I thought. The 'do it yourself' style fountain drink I had was mostly water and the fries are nothing special, I'm not even sure they were salted. The burger on the other hand was generous in size. Wrapped in aluminum foil to retain heat and to seal all that beautifully cooked meat and cheese, which in my opinion, made for one of the best chain restaurant burgers I can remember ever having.
