After having heard about Five Guys from people at work, my boyfriend and I popped over for some lunch the other weekend. We were a little surprised at how loud the music was inside the restaurant, but went ahead and ordered regardless. In terms of service, this place is basically on a par with McDonalds. You order at the counter and wait for your order before taking a seat. Not a deal breaker but with the price we paid for our meal (£30 for two burgers, fries and drinks), it seems a little underwhelming.
On to the food. The burger was decent quality, but certainly not up to the standard of other burger restaurants, such as Gourmet Burger Kitchen, and was certainly not worthy of it's high price. we were also given a staggeringly large amount of fries, despite ordering regular size. Not a terrible thing, you'd have thought, but the cajun seasoning was so salty that we could not even manage to eat half of them, and ended up throwing away food, which is never a good thing.
Sadly, we won't be returning to Five Guys. The ambience was poor, and the food was variable, but massively overpriced. read more
