Poor Customer Service - Will Not even Answer The Phone…read more I wanted to make a purchase from the Gadsden Alabama Academy Store yesterday. I wanted to see the item I was purchasing prior to the purchase and not just the pictures and description online. Before driving the 1/2 hour to the store, I called the Gadsden Store (256-439-6260) six times to see if the item I wanted was in stock. Despite all my efforts, I could only reach the automated answer line and was stuck holding on it. I was never able to contact a live associate at the Gadsden Store. Thinking the store may be closed, I called the Academy Customer Service Number (888-922-2336) two times. I was again stuck with an automated answer line and left holding. I then called the Trussville Alabama Store (205-661-5500). Wow, a real human answered the phone. I was informed that the Gadsden Store was open. I asked to leave my contact information and for the District Manager to return my call. I was put on hold and another associate came on the line. They stated they had attempted to call both the Gadsden Store and the District Manager and were unable to contact them. This entire episode is a terrible reflection on Academy Sports + Outdoors and their customer service. If I am not valued as a customer, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Something about this store just feels better than other locations. It always seems to be very clean and even though it's organized just like all the other locations I've been in over time, it just seems to have more space available to display the products. Just like all the other locations they have Men's, Women's, Children's, Household items, and occasionally a mixture of other items (exercise, toys, jewelry, etc.) Typically not a lot of staff working so check out can take a few minutes, but that's really about the only negative. Also, keep in mind that selection varies a lot even from store to store and changes up based on what the current season is.

They moved it to the front of the store, two tiny cubicles and we had to wait forever in line to try stuff on! That was from before Christmas until last month. The most recent trip I noticed there was the regular fitting rooms in the back (which are plentiful) were open with an attendant. So I'm not giving the star back but at least I didn't deduct 100 ... so that's fair I think! Typically the attitude going in here should be "I'm just looking" as it's hit or miss when you have something very specific in mind. My Husband and I had already heard bad reviews (Horror stories) From other people. We didn't say anything.We were told by Bobby Kintz to pick up the tuxedos on Thursday 2 days before the wedding. We get there and he has nothing ready. He then tells us to come back on Friday the day of the Rehearsal because one of the ring bearers shoes are not in and they should come in but if not we could go buy him a pair. And they wouldn't look like the rest of the shiny shoes the men were wearing in the wedding , he tells us they don't make them for little boys. So we get there on Friday and take the tuxedos to guntersville where the boys were and the tuxedos don't fit . They looked like men's suits cut down and the jackets came to there knees. They looked like they were going to a circus. The day of the wedding I called two of my special friends Ted and Rita at Tuxedo Inn . They told me don't worry just bring the boys to me.They saved my daughters wedding by dressing the boys in under an hour . They looked so handsome and they had shiny shoes. BKINTZ LIED TO US and said that they don't make kids sizes and no one could fit them . Thank you to Tuxedo Inn for helping us and making our daughters wedding special

I am not the only one that wasn't please with my suit/tux. No one liked them. Another thing was there was a blood stain on the arm of my white shirt. It was nasty and unsanitary. They didn't even have my Suit together until the day before, I also have a job and am a full time High school student so i did not have time within one day to go back and change it because they close at 3. I was all around unsatisfied and hope we go somewhere else for Coronations in the future.
