New ownership? New management? Regular staff just on vacation? I'm not really sure what has…read morehappened, but I've had my 5-star review draft waiting for me to finish it for a while now, but a few changes have happened that has me removing a star. So let's start with the original draft... Thrre has pretty much always been the same young gentleman working the counter when my kids and I stop in. Always happy, always professional, helpful, and always love seeing a familiar face! With almost every donut or sandwich ordered, they would put 1 or 2 donut holes as a little extra treat into the bags. Whenever my kids came into the shop with me, they would make them feel special and give them each a donut hole while we waited in line or were still deciding on what to get. They had little plastic toy rings on almost all of the "kid" donuts and whenever my picky little toddler wanted a specific donut with a specific ring, we weren't made to feel like a burden of she asked to have the combo she really wanted. The donut cases always seemed full of fresh goodies, and you could see them continually swapping out the trays with a fresh batch as they were being sold. The young gentleman was also VERY skilled at multi-tasking and could be seen helping more than one person at a time, keeping lines moving quickly without anyone feeling like they were being ignoted, making sure to l, at the very least, greet/acknowledge as soon everyone as they walked in. Now, the changes... One day, we showed up and were surprised by a handwritten sign on the front door, stating that they were no longer open on Mondays. It was, of course, a Monday. Now, the kids and I are all bummed because we don't have time to make another stop before school. We get around to going back later in the week, and our regular guy isn't there. Instead, now there are two older people behind the counter, one male and one female. Maybe the owners are covering for their one awesome employee who is getting a well-deserved vacation? I figured he took the day off or was on vacation. Who knows, but it's been quitevabwile now, and I think maybe he isn't coming back. As sweet as the two new people are behind the counter, they just aren't our young guy. The two of them together can't seem to help people as quickly as he could alone. They haven't managed to get down the inventory numbers well enough to have enough of certain items prepared and ready to go, for example, rather than having a couple of each breakfast sandwich or burrito ready for heating, they have to stop and go in the back to assemble each order as people order them. The tray of donut holes meant for grabbing and throwing the extra little treat into your bag still sits on the counter behind them as it always has, but they never grab them or just throw them into your bags anymore. The cases are only partially full of donuts now, and not one of them has the little plastic rings in them anymore. I understand they are a bit older, but almost everything has to be said/asked for more than once, as it seems they either didn't hear or possibly understand what you said and it gets a little frustrating. We drive past MANY other shops on our way from home and even go past both my kids'schools to make that special morning trip to treat ourselves. Although these things may seem really insignificant to most, those little details are what made this our favorite donut shop and why we went out of our way to go to TJs over other shops. Sadly, I'm not sure if that will stay the same now.

Holy guacamole! Have you had a memorable donut? This is the spot, in Weatherford, TX of all…read moreplaces!! It's located in an assuming area of town but there is plenty of parking for patrons. The outside is a little run down but the goods they have inside are the BOMB. There's a good selection of donuts and kolaches and other sandwich type things, as well as beverages. There are several booths and tables to sit at, but like most donut shops, it's a grab and go place. I absolutely fell in love with how they make their donuts. It's not overly sugary but it has a very distinctive taste just as Round Rock Donuts has its own orange-y flavor in their donuts. I encourage you to check it out if you're ever in the area!
