Based on plaques on the wall you can see they have sponsored a fund raising charity ride on behalf of the American Cancer Society for a number of years, regularly raising over $10,000 with each ride. Compared to typical shopping center gyms, this one is huge. Over 10,000 square feet I'd say (although judging that sort of thing is no my strongest suit). Plenty of equipment, and it's not all jammed together. 24 hour access with a scan card for members. Like all fitness centers, pricing varies according to length of your contract, but I experienced no pressure to sign up or to renew. In fact, it would be easy to miss the one renewal notice you'll get when your term is up. These people don't nag. Need a workout while visiting Rockmart. Staffed hours are 8:30AM to 8:30 PM Monday-Thursday, 8:30 to 5:30 Friday and 8:30 to 12:30 Saturday. You'll find everything is spotlessly clean. Whether driven by rumors or predatory behavior, targeting vulnerable individuals who are simply trying to utilize a gym they pay for is unacceptable -- and the response from certain members of leadership has been equally troubling. Staff should consistently uphold Planet Fitness's core values: friendliness, non-judgment, cleanliness, and professionalism. When members feel empowered to approach staff demanding that someone be removed solely because of their housing status -- and leadership entertains those complaints rather than protecting the targeted member -- it represents a serious failure of both culture and responsibility. To be clear: an unhoused paying member who is not violating any policies and is minding their own business has every right to be there. Anyone who harasses them should be the one whose membership is at risk, not the other way around. I have witnessed and heard accounts of certain managers threatening memberships against individuals who were themselves the victims of harassment. That is not sound leadership -- it is a liability. Harassment without cause can carry legal consequences, and when leadership enables or ignores it, they become the liability. Not everyone is equipped to lead, and those who are not should be retrained or repositioned accordingly. The same applies to staff who mirror poor leadership. Planet Fitness has the infrastructure to be a safe, welcoming space for everyone. But when predatory, slanderous, and dangerous behavior goes unchecked, that mission is undermined entirely. But, cold weather means sometimes having to fight the intimidation and basic idea that I don't know much about gym equipment and get in there for some excercise! BodyPlex is my first gym membership, and although I've not tried everything, I'm really enjoying it! The classes are wonderful...a great way to dive in even if you don't know what you're doing. The teachers have been super helpful and encouraging. The seem knowledgable and patient, and are good not to embarrass anyone if they need to make a suggestion. BodyPlex is centrally located in Cartersville which is perfect for swinging by on the way home. It seems clean to me, although I do take my own workout mat to the classes. (The gym mats really stink!) The atmosphere is good, and people really seem to focus on their own workout rather than watching others. Just something to think about: A friend of mine just changed her membership from BodyPlex to Gold's because it is closer to her house. But, she prefers BodyPlex and may switch her membership back.
