I woke up with my inner southern gIrl hungry for biscuits and gravy and sliced ham. Because we wanted to eat outside, we went to our local First Watch. I ordered biscuits & gravy, sliced ham and eggs over easy. My husband ordered his favorite salmon omelet, and asked for a pancake instead of toast, (something he had ordered in the past). He was told he would be charged extra for the pancake, but was surprised to find the extra for one pancake was $5.99! My ham slice came from a loaf of processed ham - like spam. UGH! The biscuit was nice and fluffy, but there was less than 1/2 cup of gravy with it. My eggs were hard, smashed and rubbery. This is the second time at this restaurant that the eggs which were supposed to be over easy arrived hard, smashed, and rubbery. This restaurant has gone downhill significantly in the past 6 months. The waitstaff is excellent, but there is something wrong with the kitchen. We will not return. read more

Our family of 4 generations went on a Fall Break road-trip from Texas to Arizona and New Mexico to visit some NPS sites. We always enjoy eating at First Watch and this one was no different. We started off with a Caramel Crunch Cinnamon Roll, very large and delicious! Everyone in our party liked it! Good place. Location on Speedway has the feel and ambiance of a country side bed and breakfast. Real rustic and down to earth. I like the sliding white barn doors for the employee area and like that no matter where you are seated, you can see the entire restaurant, for the most part. Only been to this one and the one on Broadway, Williams Centre. This one didn't have coffee at the front though, but that did have the creams and sugar there. Good food, a little pricey for the portions. Healthy food and healthy menu choices. Health food does have a cost, which explains the prices. Doesn't leave you too full, I guess that's good because then you could go somewhere else for dessert, if you feel like you really need it. Although, we chose to skip out on dessert. *****If you are diabetic and must count your carbs, just be careful and use your own judgement!!! If you are new to carb counting for insulin dosing, I wouldn't trust the nutrition facts. Just eat something carbless!! I looked up nutrition facts from they're website for this local location. We ordered the power wrap from "healthier side" of the menu portion, (the order for the messed up carbs) Nutrition facts, (from the First Watch website, stated 84carbs, but using that info. caused a major blood sugar low later in the day and even after eating, caused a lower trend for the rest of the day. It comes with a small cup, about 1/2 cup, (measured) of fruit. The fruit contained pineapple, blackberries, grapes, and watermelon. There is no way that dish including the tortilla had 84carbs!!! Wish I would've used better judgement for using the nutrition info, it is not reliable at all. Service was fast, friendly and on point. After we ordered, it did not take long at all to receive our food. Our order was seriously ready and brought to our table in less than 9min. and our food was still was hot! Impressive. They bring you a whole pot of coffee for your table and a whole water carafee. You would just only need to ask the waitress for more ice, if you wish. read more

We waited for an hour for a food!! server did not come up to us once during that hour asking for refills and drinks. Then to top it off server came back with an error in our order and our tortillas were so soggy that the food went straight through the tortilla!!! Then to put the cherry on the cake we asked for tortillas fresh tortillas since The tortillas were soggy server came back explaining to us in a not so customer service attitude our tortillas are still frozen and missing in action (what does that mean) we don't know how long it'll be to get three fresh tortillas. Then the server dropped that check off with no apologies as to what happened during the whole breakfast experience And sad you pay up at the front. Now why would I ever want to recommend first watch to anyone if they're gonna be treated that way?! ...... I could've made chorizo and eggs at home in five minutes. I visit several First watch locations since they are so convenient. But I went to this location most often, yesterday to be exact. We arrived a little before noon and luckily the breakfast crowd was leaving so we were sat right away. We browsed the menus and ordered our drinks. I decided on the traditional breakfast with egg whites and bacon, I know I'm so boring. My husband ordered the pork belly bacon and grits which I believe is their seasonal special. Our food was out super fast! And I think the bacon I ate was the best bacon I've ever eaten in my entire life. It was crispy, not burned, perfectly salty and tasty. The rest of my food was solid, especially their fresh preserves. But the bacon was the star. My hubby's pork belly was really good according to him, I just find pork belly to be too rich for my tastes. But let me tell ya' those grits were on par with the bacon. I could taste the cheese and everything in those grits. Oh my! Service was excellent at the beginning and sort of tapered off towards the end but still a good service. This location has inconsistent quality of food preparation. I've had some outstanding meals and some real let-downs. The last two meals have been disappointing in that the potatoes were a mix of over-cooked and under-cooked, the onions were almost raw, and the ham was so dry it would serve better as a dog's chew toy. I like the upgrade from the Good Egg. More fresh tasting items on the menu. Had an heirloom tomato toast with burrata cheese. It came with two eggs that were cooked perfectly. It was a good amount of breakfast without feeling too full. The wait time can be a bit long depending on the time of day, but they will get you in fairly quickly. I love the decor. I really thought that since First Watch was voted best breakfast that it would be really delicious but to be honest I really was not impressed. My mom ordered the salmon frittata and I ordered the chorizo omelet. I tasted both and didn't like either. I want to be fair with this review as I do with all of my reviews but the food just didn't taste good. There was hardly any spicy chorizo and the green peppers and onions were stuffed inside this overcooked bland omelet. It came with an option of greens but there wasn't much dressing on it, very light but kind of like tasteless salad garnish to fill the plate. My moms salmon frittata was overcooked, and the first thing I asked her was where's the salmon? When you have a French mother who has prepared a million amazing frittatas for you as a kid, it leaves something to be desired. The coffee was excellent but I found myself apologizing for my pick for this restaurant. The highlight of the visit was the older gentlemen who came over to make some conversation and another customer who attempted to flag me down for something on my way to the restroom. We were seated immediately and our server was quick to offer coffee and take out drink order. She was patient with our questions and indecisiveness. I was in for breakfast on Sunday, April 30, 2022. Besides having a hot, tasty breakfast, I received excellent customer service from Richie, a First Watch employee. He was cordial, respectful, efficient and watchful of any follow up needs. The manager, Charles Deller, has done an excellent job in selecting his staff as I have received excellent service from Shauna and Sarah as well. This location had its job cut out for them during the pandemic, and lucky for First Watch Charles remained steady and continued to move forward in ensuring that the staff was consistent with maintaining First Watch's reputation as an excellent restaurant. This location is right next to the Rillito path (aka The Loop) and has an outside patio with ceiling fans, which is a perfect spot to hang out and have breakfast after a morning run or bike ride. The servers are always friendly and prompt. They usually have two menus, one of which is their permanent menu and the other with the seasonal specials. There are two breakfast bowls marked as gluten-free. The only reason this restaurant doesn't get 5 stars is that the inside of the restaurant has a very nasty "funky-moldy dirty dishwasher" smell that is very unappetizing and definitely makes one wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen and food prep area. read more

Terrible service! We had a party of 6 on a Saturday at 9:30am. We waited to be seated for about 20 minutes, which isn't terrible but it was strange because there were multiple tables open. The waiter took our order and the first plate came out about 15 minutes later. Then the second, third, and fourth plates 10 minutes later. The last meal we were waiting on was oatmeal. The waiter never came to check on us and after another 10 minutes of waiting for just oatmeal, we finally talked to the host and it turns out the waiter forgot to enter the oatmeal in the order. At least he took it off the bill at the end of the meal. I don't think I will go to this location again, especially not with a big group. read more

I truly am disappointed with this company. I am from FL and the First Watch's out there are on point with everything. Which means that the management, including the higher ups like the Director and regional, should be embarrassed. This particular location is always the worst service. We went here twice in the last couple weeks and both times we waited 25+ mins for food.. the food came out wrong and never once did a manager come by to talk to us. When paying the manager( whose name I learned was Jason) asked every person in front of me how their meal was. When it came to me he didn't say one word other than "receipt?" Which leads me to believe he knew about our long wait and receiving the wrong food. Most of the time when you have a bad experience you brush it off and hope next time is better. Save yourself the time and money because there is no better for this company. I warned friends about this experience who wanted to come in this last weekend and they said last time they ended up getting contacted by an Alyssa? (Might have the name wrong) because their experience was so bad. So if you are considering this restaurant do yourself a favor and DONT BOTHER. read more
