I visited this First Watch location with my family on a Sunday morning for brunch and I was both impressed with the food, and the wait time for a weekend brunch spot. Now, this isn't my first time at this First Watch and I'm not sure what's changed but we almost didn't come here because we couldn't jump on a waitlist before arriving and in the past when I've found myself here there is often a long wait. Our party of eight just waltzed right in on a Sunday around 10am which was truly shocking to me. I'm not complaining, I'm just surprised! So, if you have a large group and are dreading finding a spot this might be the one for you. Now onto the food. Like other First Watch locations I've visited in the past two years or so, the food quality has really gone up. I used to think of First Watch as being kind of basic - terrible coffee, just generic brunch food, but now I think their menu has really focused on fresh ingredients and you can find some healthier options that still pack some good flavor. I'm still nervous to try their drip coffee so I can't speak to that, but I did see that they must now have an espresso machine as they offer a much wider array of coffee options. So in essence, I've surprised myself with my newfound love for breakfast here. Finally, I'll add that it's still fairly affordable, so all in all not a bad spot for a weekend brunch with your family. read more

We have tried out most of the First Watch restaurants in our area. We love their food and usually get the same thing. We tried out this location. We were seated immediately, the hostess and staff could be friendlier. Our waitress was nice but we had dirty plates on our table and she never took them until the very end, nor refill our carafe of water. My husband's BLTE was generally good but the egg was over cooked and they didn't add the extra bacon that he paid for until asking them. The guy who brought it out said it was extra but when gets the same thing every time and it definitely was not. They did bring out more when he mentioned this. My gluten free bread was extra toasted so it was hard to even chew. They were generous with the sandwich filling and salad on mine. The atmosphere is casual and noise level was fine. We probably wouldn't come back to this location as there are other ones that are much better. read more

This morning I placed a delivery order because I wanted some breakfast but didn't want to leave the house. And last time I visited first watch I saw that they have a lavender French toast. The French toast was pretty delicious. The only note I have is that when it's to go, they should put the toppings on the side. It arrived with the cream all melted. I feel like it should have had more berries too. I would definitely order it again, though. Sad it's just a seasonal item. The b&g I ordered with it was really not good. They used to have good b&g, but the last couple times I ordered it, it wasn't very good. The recipe must have changed. It should change again. Smaller chunks of sausage and maybe a little sage in the gravy would be nice. read more

Lovely breakfast experience! I enjoyed the seasonal pineapple juice with a chocolate chip pancake and side of fruit. My husband enjoyed coffee and the Trifecta. Both were delicious. Service was QUICK for a Saturday morning. We were sat right away (you can check the wait time online at First Watch or on the First Watch app) and food arrived quickly after placing our order. It's a family friendly restaurant with great natural lighting in the morning. Comfy chairs at the 2-seater tables. We will definitely be back! read more

Food is great. My boyfriend LOVES the sausage and biscuits and i've ordered the elevated egg sandwich and the crab avocado toast. both are very good meals. They are always busy there and for good reason! Definitely feel like the prices are reasonable and the purple haze drink is to DIE FOR. Love me a good lavender lemonade, it's very refreshing and not too sweet. Waitresses/waiters are always extremely kind and quick to assist you. Before thinking of Ihop or dennys for breakfast, spend the couple extra bucks and go here instead! Wish they were a little bit more aware of covid with leaving stuff on the table as well as a coffee cup. I didn't want coffee so I moved the cup - which then the server grabs it to put back for the next customer so now multiple people have touched it. I always get the pick 2 for lunch. Since it's St. Patrick's Day, and they don't serve corned beef and cabbage, I'm honoring the traditional "Wearing of the Green" with their avocado toast...I dropped some of the mashed avocado on my sweater! As a friend once said "Can't take you anywhere without a bib!" Their temporary "Jump Start" special menu items all sound pretty great, but they had me at the picture of the Crab & Avocado Toast just inside the front door. It comes with two basted eggs, but they'll cook those anyway you like. I'll paint the picture for you...imagine a thick slice of whole grain artisan toast topped with a generous amount of very fresh mashed avocado, then topped with a decent amount of wild-caught blue crab, and pickled red onions! Irresistible, right? It was delicious change-of-pace for lunch. The service was great, everything was clean and tidy (except my sweater), and I am a happy camper! read more

This review is in the context of frequent online orders, so I do not have much exposure to the dining room service. I can say that the staff I see when picking up my order is always extremely friendly, often even holding the door for guests. I have to say I do not love breakfast food. But my wife loves a couple of items from here, particularly the Floridian French Toast and the Avocado Toast. I have given 3 stars because about 25% of the time they either get something wrong or there is a food quality issue. This includes forgetting the berry compote with the french toast or completely leaving out an item such as a muffin. On the food quality side, it's definitely hit or miss on the side potatoes being fully cooked. They used to offer a side of biscuits and gravy for around $5 but now you can only get it as a a plate that includes eggs and potatoes for $12.29 which is an extreme markup. The online ordering is kind of annoying in terms of what you can add as an add-on. For example, the potatoes (when fully cooked) are delicious when you add roasted onions. But there are many items that let you order potatoes but do not offer the add-on. I presume there is more flexibility when dining in, but the limitations are frustrating when ordering online. read more

Outdoing some Thanksgiving shopping and decided to stop in for a bite to eat. The restaurant was packed, about a 15 min wait for a booth. My wife got a complimentary cup of coffee while we waited. The staff was polite and put us on the list, our table was ready a little before the quoted time frame. I ordered a classic which is no longer on the menu ( Bubba's Benny) Biscuit, smothered in gravy with a sausage patty, eggs and a side of country potatoes. I also ordered the cinnamon crunch pancake. My food came out fairly quickly, the waitress was, prompt, polite and friendly. I ordered scrambled eggs vs over easy and my eggs just did not have the fluff or volume that I am used to getting at first watch, also the sausage was diced vs the patty of the center cut that I have had in the past. My biscuit did not have the body that I was accustomed to either, as it crumbled while I tried to eat it. The potatoes where good as usual and the pancake was fantastic. All and all I would not order the Bubba's Benny from this location again as it was very underwhelming, on another note we also asked our waitress for to-go containers and never received them from her nor did she return prior to us paying for our meal. ( We were forced to flag down another staff member who took care of us) This is one of my wife's favorite chains and yet not our favorite locations. read more

The servers and staff were incredibly kind! However, I ate at the Overland Park (151st location) for the first time and it was okay. Nothing to rave about. I ordered the (seasonal) blueberry lemon French toast with the famous purple haze drink. The concept of the French toast is great, but it's too much going on. The white frosting stuff and the cookie crumbles are just too much...reminds me of those IHOP pancakes with all that stuff on them. Also, the French toast was not flavorful at all, even though I added butter and toppings. The purple haze drink is ridiculously too sweet and needs more of the lavender flavor, since the drink is purple/lavender. Not the worst place to eat, but I was underwhelmed. read more

I have been here many times with friends. Everything is good here except for egg dishes. I like eggs poached soft or over easy. They consistently over cook my eggs. I even ordered them sunny side up and they still over cooked them. It has to be how they're trained. If you like your eggs over medium or over hard, this is the place for you. read more

After a wonderful yelp event at a First Watch, I decided that the food was worth revisiting after so many years of not being impressed. At 2 subsequent visits to 2 different locations, I was still impressed. Sadly, this location did not live up to my expectations. The food was okay, but walking into the restaurant, felt like I was being seated in a senior citizens community dining room. It did not have much warmth or personality. I love both breakfast and lunch here. The quality is always top notch.I got the Baja turkey burger, which is one of the regular things I get for lunch. It's always tender and delicious and I love the small salad that it comes with. I got a large bowl of fruit with it and, as usual, every piece of fruit was fresh and crisp, not a bad piece in the bowl. We came with a large group of 9 at around 11am on Memorial Day. We actually weren't originally planning to have First Watch for brunch, until we got to the other place and saw how overly crowded the place was, and the wait times were way too long. We went back to the car, as I was looking through my phone thinking of better options. I remembered that First Watch has an awesome set up where you can do call ahead just by the touch of a button on your phone. We went with this, and only had a 20 minute wait! When we got to the establishment, we checked in with the host and were seated almost as soon as we had sat down to wait. Our service was fantastic, we immediately were served coffee and water and we got a chance to check the menu out before ordering. I tried out a limited time offering they had instead of Eggs benedict, and I was not disappointed at all! Pictured is what I had, it was a Mediterranean style "baked eggs" with chicken. I was so disappointed in the service and the kitchen staff today truly a terrible experience today from top to bottom. Booked a reservation today that said I would be seated between 12:00 and 12:05 didn't get seated until about 12:20 finally got to sit down and eat. What a disaster that was the food was absolutely terrible. They had to remake my partners plate three times due to The potatoes not being cooked at all. Three times still couldn't get it right our server had to get a manager to take the meal completely off the ticket that doesn't fix one not being able to eat their plate. Got the third plate back and the over medium eggs were so over medium more like not done at all, potatoes still weren't cooked at all. The food was so bad that the server completely gave up on serving our table. Not to mention my omelette that I ordered was barley hot at the time of serving. First Watch is the best breakfast/brunch, and this is the best location! While there's frequently a wait on Sunday mornings, they move fast and give you coffee while you wait. Their menu is extensive and creative. They have vegan options and all their food is delicious! Their coffee is also really wonderful and they offer a non-dairy creamer. The entire staff is amazing- we haven't had a single bad experience! We especially love the waiter Lawrence- he's super cheerful and fun!
