Staff is lazy and slow. Can't even get them to take a reservation without them immediately trying to push an app or the website. A website that could not take the reservation either because the group was too large. The girl on the phone knew nothing about anything on the site and just keep saying the same thing over and over again. If you are to lazy to take a reservation over the phone then you don't need our business. Honestly I don't know what I was expecting from a place that the staff is to lazy to pour the coffee or water. The couple of times my wife and I have dined they just set the stuff down and walk away. PTC location is usually very busy but always great service every time I e visited. It gets pretty noisy because it's crowded especially on weekends but honestly some of the healthiest options in the Hampton area which I enjoy. The breakfast bowls and kale tonic are my go-to! read more

We came in on a Sunday morning around 7:30, we were seated immediately and our waitress was great! She brought our drinks and they give you a carafe of coffee which is good so you can get your own refills. The inside is cute, open and inviting. Highly recommend, felt light guilt free, and absolutely had an amazing time with our server Jennifer. Had the chorizo omelette on a breakfast date with some work friends. The food was good needed a little salt and hot sauce but that's just from me most likely. Our server Jennifer was honest about her thoughts when we asked and was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, which was very refreshing for a dining experience. I have been to First Watch twice for lunch and I am giving it a 5. I would give it a 4 because price is on the high side, but the food is so good it almost seems worth it. The décor inside is a bit industrial but not overly so. I would almost say it is hip, if I wasn't too old to know what's hip these days. The space is not that big but for some reason it doesn't feel cramped when you are dining, only when you are in line to pay. I wish the wait staff would take care of that. I never like standing in line when I'm ready to leave. The menu is extensive and if you are into organic, healthy, hormone free, you get the idea, fresh food, First Watch is the place. It is very hard to choose what to order, so I let price be my guide because I could easily get in over my head financially in here. They place water on your table in little glasses, and I have to ask for ice. Cool water is good for brooks and streams. For my meal I need ice water. With lemon if you have it. The first visit I ordered an appetizer called Rainbow Bread or something like that. I kept flashing on that commercial where the kids make their mom 'Princess Toast,' but true to the description it was very flavorful and tasty. It was enough for my friend and I to share. Then I ordered the multigrain pancakes. Now I had been told to order the short stack lemon ricotta pancakes, but the big multigrain stack was calling to me. I will most always choose a stack of 4 over a short stack of 2, because I have a fear of starvation. The pancakes and waffles are the size of a large plate and very filling. I gave it my best endeavor to finish them. They came with some healthy meat option that I enjoyed. The second visit was with 4 friends and again I passed on the lemon ricotta pancakes. I went for chicken salad on a kind of tasty artisan bread. It is served open face and heated, but I requested it be served cold and I cut the bread in half and made a standard sandwich out of it. My friend who got it heated and melted said, "Hey! How did you get extra bread for a sandwich?" Basically open faced chicken salad can be a challenge to eat plus she thought I got something she didn't get. Nope, just my own inborn creativity. I got the Italian wedding soup with it and I wasn't impressed. It wasn't that warm but there were plenty of tiny meatballs, which is the important thing. One friend got a healthy veggie wrap that she devoured, but I will have to trust her on its deliciousness because that is something I would never order. Too many vegetables. I honestly forget what the two guys ordered, but whatever it was they ate all of it and raved about it and said they would love to come back there. If you are the sort to seek a healthy power bowl of quinoa or kale, or avocado toast between your zumba class and hot yoga, this is the place for you. But if you are more like me, give those lemon ricotta pancakes a try. And some Rainbow Bread on the side! UPDATE 9/7/18 I went today and tried the lemon ricotta pancakes. I also ordered a side of chicken sausage. The pancakes are huge and come topped with lemon curd (like pie filling) and strawberries. I did not find the pancakes themselves to be remarkable, and they soaked in the syrup like a spilled coke in the desert. You may like them more than I did. Also the moms with toddlers have discovered it and the din is broken up much too frequently by the shrieks of little children. Service continues to be very good. read more

Update 7/27/18- Gave this place a second chance on Friday 7/27/18. Ordered take out because I had a road trip and I was pressed for time. I ordered the Monterey Club which came with Turkey, Bacon, and avocado on sour dough bread which was excellent. I opted for hash browns instead of salad which was also very good and definitely hit the spot in my book. I pre-ordered my food in advance so there was no wait. I definitely enjoyed my experience this time and would go back again now that this experience was much better. To start off I'd say I'm a little disappointed. With a 4.5 star rating I had very high expectations not to mention the wait was all of one hour. With the volume of people staying for the wait I expected nothing short of amazing but sadly I can't say the French toast did that for me. I also ordered a side of eggs since the Floridian French toast doesn't come with any sides and unfortunately the eggs came out cold. I don't like cold eggs so that was disappointing. I ordered the morning meditation which was good. Overall I don't plan to go back as my overall experience wasn't great. read more

I came in for breakfast and got treated like royalty!!! As a result of my experience with this I was almost treated to breakfast!! So as I looked around the restaurant I decided to do a random act of kindness and paid for one of her parties. 5 people total. I felt the warmth and compassion of the server and felt like it would be an honor to share my experience. This First Watch location certainly lives up to the schtick. It's basically a corporate take on the farm-to-table movement, so as long as you can deal with the festering irony of that, it's decent. We came in for brunch recently - service was prompt and friendly. I had the egg sandwich, which was a bit disappointing. The bread/bun was soggy and almost Wonderbread-like in consistency. I also asked for no mayo, but the sandwich came with mayo anyway. Potatoes were plentiful, though slightly undercooked. Also tried a side of pancakes - now those are HUGE, so watch out if you think you're getting a little side three stack - it's enough pancake to feed a small army. So basically, just alright - definitely hit the spot, and decent for what we were looking for. It's pricier than other breakfast chains but the quality is also better than your IHOP or Denny's. read more
