Great food when they finally bring it out, this place opened up in Jan by now they need to get a routine down. Our waiter was kind and attentive but he had our table and a few tables scattered all over the restaurant... To me this seems counter productive it took approximately 20 minutes for our food to come out and it was cold they forget the extras I asked for and completely forgot my 7 year olds food. They did however take it off the bill. The place is busy and there is a bunch of waiters and waitresses that are running around crazy it would be easier if they set up a system to work together they should also consider larger trays for clearing off tables they run back and forth 5 times to clear one small table. Upset that I didn't know this gem was here since January and only found out last month. Since then I have been there every weekend. I love breakfast and the cool, relax and healthy environment makes this place A class. Quite often, especially in the warmer months I scour the Internet for a breakfast place only to have drive miles and now this is right at my back door. The service is prompt, (well I am usually one of their 1st customers on Saturdays) coffee is lovely, fruits are fresh and that kale juice is a health wonder in a glass. I've been 5 times including today and I visited Mother's Day. The place is very cute and cozy but, the service was awful today. From the time we were seated, we waited for 45 minutes to receive our order. The waitress did not return once she filled the drink order to refill our carafe, inform us of the wait, or ask if there was anything we needed. I saw two families leave when they were told after waiting 30 minutes that there still was another 15 minute wait. Sad to say but it's best to go during the week, it seems, to get better service. I must say everything I've tried is very good, but the customer service needs an overhaul. The servers need an overhaul in the basics of customer service. I really hope things get better. I love this restaurant and have had the same thing three times. Today the dish was horrible! The potatoes were burnt the bacon was burnt and the eggs were overdone. Whoever the cook is on Thursdays at 11:00 should be fired. The waitress never came back to ask how things were so I didn't complain. There is a lot of potential I hope it does go downhill and they close. But this meal was not good. I only hope they get better cooks that care about the outcome. read more

I had to write today about my horrible experience at this location this morning. My family from New York was visiting and I wanted to share with them my love for First Watch. Everything went fine up to being seated. But then what started off well turned into 45 minutes waiting for food to the point I had to beg the server to please bring out my daughter's meal as she was starving. Then we proceeded to wait 20 minute more for the rest of the table. The issues didn't stop there. Everyone had overcooked and dried out eggs on their plate. I ordered over medium and instead had two HARD fried eggs. My dad ordered an omelet and it was extremely dried out. My sister had scrambled and it was scrambled so hard it looked like old dried up eggs. I then asked to speak to the manager who to date has YET to come by so I can share my concerns. What he or she (since I never met them I don't know their gender) did instead was comp the whole meal. But told our server it would be another 20 minutes or so if I still wanted to speak to her. What a disrespect!!! I'm still a fan of First Watch but I will NEVER EVER spend my money at this location again. Customer service is everything and today we received NONE. Shame on you!!! read more

I come here almost every Sunday and the food in delicious. The wait time is a little long but is well worth the wait! Accompanied with the Nowait app you can call ahead for your wait time and when you arrive your table so be ready. The service is great the establishment is clean, and the juice bar drinks awesome! If you did have an wait time, there are plenty of stores in the immediate area that you can go to while you wait for the front desk to send you a text to let you know when the table is ready. The wait staff is very knowledgeable of the menu and also very helpful. I love this place,and would recommend it to anyone. read more

Very disappointed. Our first time here and we were told a 30-45 minute wait. We sat next to the coffee (that no one mentioned) and watched several people come right in and rush to sit at a community table as soon as others got up. Was this an option? No one told us. Then we watched as table by table got up and the poor bus boy tried to clean them off, but he was pulled away by the demands of the community table. These tables have been sitting full of dishes for half an hour. Not pleased with this type of mis-management of a restaurant. For about the price of ihop, you get much better food! The pancakes are some of the best you'll ever eat. The service can sometimes feel slow, but they're always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is also very child/toddler friendly. read more

This place is my new favorite Bowie spot (: Its got tons of hipster organic atmosphere, and the foods yummy. If you're a fan of avocado and bacon, as I am, you're in luck, because it's in EVERYTHING Not quite, but their omelettes and Monterrey club sandwich are good. The endless coffee is nice, and they leave a tall bottle of water at the table. They also have a bunch of fun juices and other things to try. Small warning, it's a little cold in there, and they kind of overcharge, I think, but you're definitely paying for the feel of the place. Everyone I've had serve me has been very nice. This was such a disappointment, my husband and I love the laurel location and go there often, we decided to try the Bowie location because it was closer to where we live and bought it was worth a shit to try this location. The first time was okay, I usually get the same order each time the BLT Benedict as its my favorite, and it was fine the first time, We came back a week later and it wasn't as good, the bread and bacon were both burnt and dry, also they left off the avocado and when I asked for some the waitress brought me some brown/black avocado slices that looked like they were picked from the trash. I figured it was just a hiccup since it was fine before. The last straw was going back the third time, anything that could have been wrong with my order was wrong. The bread was burnt and black in places, the bacon was also burnt and blackened, the eggs overcooked, the greens were slimy and going bad, the avocado was all brown, and the hollandaise sauce was curdled. I could not understand why or how this left the kitchen as it was. This location has really terrible quality ingredients, the produce that should be tossed manages to make its way on your plate here, so if you like the menu, it's worth the extra miles to go to the laurel location read more

First time the wife and I have been to First Watch. It was just okay. I had the biscuits and turkey gravy; definitely needed more gravy, but the flavor was okay. I had a side of the potatoes and they were over cooked and mushy. My wife had the special smoked salmon eggs benedict; she seemed to like it. The service was below par. The waitress never came back to our table to fill our drinks, and just showed up with the check and didn't even ask if we wanted anything else. I felt as if they just wanted us out of there. Another issue that was a bit off putting was when we first walked into the restaurant there was an employee (who also happened to be our waitress) talking about an employee getting fired. As a pastor's wife, I've also posted a referral to your restaurant on my Facebook and to my amaze, several members of our church told me yesterday that they have tried and loved your restaurant. Only one comment/suggestion I've heard several times,"their pancakes & waffles are so delicious, why can't they be added with the omelets or any entree for an upcharge, without having to pay full price for a waffle"? This has to be one of my favorite brunch spots in Maryland. They have a great selection of breakfast and lunch options that are pretty reasonably priced. They opened recently and we visited it right when it opened. It was so nice, hardly anyone was there and there was no wait. Now the word has gotten our and they're super busy! We went there yesterday for a birthday brunch (they give you a free entree for your birthday month which is pretty awesome). We had a bit of a wait, about 30 minutes for three people, but that's our fault for going at 11:30 on a Sunday morning. They have coffee out for you while you wait which is really nice. Decided to try today for first time with carryout. Ordered the "bowl" of tomato basil soup and the lemon chicken quinoa bowl. Was so disappointed with my order of the soup -- came in a typical 8 oz. Styrofoam cup but only half full. No more than 4 oz. I expected a "bowl" -- usually at least 8 oz. When I got home and pulled it out was so disappointed that I paid that much for so little. It was ok tasting -- no better or worse than I've had at most places. I can get a better tasting Tomato Basil soup at Safeway for half the cost -- delicious. However, the Lemon Chicken Quinoa bowl was quite tasty and would order that again. I'm trying this place again with a friend for an "in-dining" experience -- hope it goes well. The staff was pleasant enough and my wait for the carryout was only @10 minutes. read more
