First Watch is pretty consistent, although they can become very crowded on weekends. I have tried a few of their breakfast items including, pancakes, waffles and omelets. I love the pecan pancakes with the maple syrup (its a plus that they offer maple syrup) The meat dishes are mediocre. The specialty healthy drinks look really refreshing, want to try one soon! I appreciate First Watch's offering of fresh, locally-sourced food but I wasn't thoroughly impressed with what they had to offer. Granted, First Watch was way better than breakfast at your local Ihop but nothing about the experience really made me want to visit again. I had their waffle with sausage links and eggs. The waffle was okay, and I was kind've disappointed about how small the sausage links were. I liked how they leave a bottle of water on the table for you to pour at your own convenience. However, one thing I especially did not like was paying for our bill at the front of the restaurant where patrons were waiting to be seated. It was just annoying to be in the mix of people trying to be seated when I was so eager to leave. I would've much rather paid for my meal at the table. However, I would still consider coming back. Just on a less busy day and for something else. read more

Went here for the first time on Sunday and really enjoyed it. I had the pumpkin pancakes and chicken sausage. I also tried the waffle. The pancakes and waffle were cooked perfectly and very flavorful. Only thing I didn't like is I had to wait about 40 minutes until me and my one friend were seated. We arrived around 12pm which is probably their busy hour. When we left about an hour later it was much less crowded. read more

Waffle was just ok, a bit on soft/soggy side. The amount of fruit topping for waffle was pitifully small. Barely enough for 1/4 waffle. Warm syrup was a nice touch. The problem was this meal and a cup of coffee wasn't worth $12.49 plus tip. Was not a good value. The food was not special enough to pay twice what you would a Denny's. I had some reservations about this place because the buzz around town was that the food was good but the service not so much. My expectations were definitely exceeded. The service was great and the food was good. I had the Trifecta with a pecan pancake, scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. Possibly the best turkey sausage ever! Pancake was huge, only finished half, but dry hence the 4 star rating. My hubby had the bacon cheddar pancake and said it was tasty. Kale tonic was the bomb! Ambiance was great. Great service - We were immediately led to a table with a huge smile, were in and out in an hour, but it was 8am on Columbus Day and it wasn't at all busy so maybe that's why. First of all, I've never had a problem at this first watch until we had an allergy in the family. I came here because my 2 year old is now dairy free and most places do not cook as freshly as they do here. They even have a statement in the menu that they will accommodate allergies. I figured if anyone could make something for my daughter to eat, they could. Unfortunately, they were not able to accommodate a dairy free allergy. They offered toast or meat. But even the butter has dairy. My daughter wanted French toast. It simply takes cracking an egg, dipping the bread, and throwing it on the griddle. They couldn't do that for us. So we will have to find a new place until my daughter can eat dairy again. read more

Food is good service is not so good. After being seated I waited for a lengthy time before the waiter showed up and for my food to arrive. The waiter was very pleasant however, he disappeared several times and never returned with my requested to-go box or check. I had to ask another waitress if she could locate him. She eventually returned with these two items. The hostess asked how my experience was upon check-out and I told her the meal was good but service was slow. When I mentioned my waiter disappeared she replied, yes they tend to do that. So, they are aware of their wait staff giving unacceptable service as their culture.. Soooo happy to have more breakfast options in the area! Service can be a bit haphazard and slow but the pancakes make up for it! Haven't tried any of the lunch options but I'm a breakfast girl. This was my first visit to a first watch chain. After reading all the reviews about service issues I decided to go in the morning to beat the brunch crowd. There was an issue with the cashier terminal but we were quickly seated. My server was polite and very funny. The food arrived in about 12 minutes, which was appropriate to freshly cooked ingredients. I ordered the crepe and my other the wheat germ pancake. Both were well made although the salsa could have done with some lime or cilantro to brighten the dish. Overall I was pleased. I shall come here again. read more

I think first watch has a lot going for it. However if you have a dairy ,soy or egg allergy I would sit this place out. I think based on thr menu I thought there would be options suitable for anyone but according to their handy dandy allergen guide the only things without soy were the muesli, fruit, and meats. I have always had good experiences at First Watch ... until today. I decided to order online for pickup because it was crowded due to the Mother's Day rush. I placed an order and picked it up for my family. After driving 20 minutes back to my house, my daughter opened the bag and realized that we were missing our 2 orders of Million Dollar bacon. I called the restaurant and they told me that I should have had 3 bags, however, my receipt said bags 1 of 2 and 2 of 2. I sent my husband back to the restaurant and the manager tells my husband that I told her I was only missing one order. THAT WAS A LIE!!!! He told her her that he was standing beside me when I called and that never happened. She acted like she was doing us a favor by giving us the 2nd order that we had already paid for. Who lies about some da*n bacon.... This was a crappy experience, especially since this was my Mother's Day request. Customer service is everything. My family has been wanting to eat here since we moved to Bowie... today was our day, and boy was it a disappointment. First, we called to ask if they took reservations, but the receptionist said no. However, when I visited the website, you could "Get in line" via their app. We were a little taken aback that she didn't advise us of this option over the phone but we thought "no biggie," and signed in via the app. We arrived at the restaurant about 20 min later, and checked in with the receptionist who informed us we still had about a 40min wait. Still, no worries... we were fine with the additional wait. The real issues starting rising when after about 45-50 min we checked with the receptionist again and my husband was told that we never checked in, and our names were removed from the wait list. Fortunately the receptionist was friendly and found us a seat pretty quickly following that misunderstanding. I'll wrap this up... All-in-all our experience was not the most pleasant. Our food was okay, my family rated their meals all 5 out of 10 (after doctoring my meal up a bit I rated mine a 7). Our server wasn't very present. Our meals took a crazy long time to come out, we requested refills and never received them, I had to walk to the back and ask for syrup, etc. The prices were reasonable, that was a plus. I'm glad we visited, but this has been scratched off our restaurant list. read more
