I ordered the power bowl and when I received it, the egg was over cooked, there were only two pieces of kale and the sausage had a very unpleasant taste. The pictures are very deceiving and not at all as nutritious as advertised. The bowl barely had any other vegetables they claim to have included. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager, Jerri, to see what could be done about this and she sounded very unconcerned and told me I had to pay for an entire new meal because they did nothing wrong on their behalf. This type of customer service let alone the false advertisement of this meal will be the reason I don't return and won't recommend this place to anyone.f read more

I never knew this place existed. What a lucky find for a quick breakfast. The food was fresh and healthy and they offered a wide variety of vegetarian dishes. I also had one in their nutra-bullet type shakes. It was very good and tasted like they just had juiced it in the back. My wife had an egg white omelette she said was delicious. And I of course had plenty of starches. The service was great and there was room for plenty to seat. I can imagine this place occasionally gets very busy but I walked in and got a seat right away. read more

The food here is really good. Market hash for breakfast, or the sandwich with avocado (forget the name). Just like the Tom Petty song though, "the waaaaiting is the hardest part". All 3 of our visits we have had long waits at the door. One of those times they were busy, so it was expected. Another time, we didn't see any employees at the front for at least 5 minutes. All times we had to wait after being seated for even a greeting. When finally greeted, nothing was brought to the table by the server (not even water). We were one party of approximately 6 in the store at breakfast on our first visit, and waited about 15 minutes for a server, then another 10 minutes for her to bring us coffee. On the aforementioned busy visit after finally being sat, we had to stop a random employee to ask how to order/be waited on. A server showed up with a pad ready to take the order, before offering us any beverages. We chalked the first couple visits up to the place being new, and the employees finding their groove. Third visit made us leery. Bottom line is, we will try this place at least one more time. Again, the food is good, service is just sub par (on multiple occasions). read more

(Not) fresh, fast, or friendly where all of these great reviews are coming from? First off, the wait is always insane. I called to check the wait on a random weekday morning and was told there was no wait - ZERO. In the less than 5 minutes it took me to get there, somehow the wait jumped to 20 minutes for a party of 2. Not bad compared to the usual 45-60 min (I've never been willing to wait that long). We were called in 20 minutes... but not seated. Right in front of us, the hostess told our server to give our table to a party of 4 instead. So we had to wait another 10 minutes. They didn't apologize to us or even acknowledge that we were still awkwardly waiting. And adding insult to injury, the other party was only 2 people (no one joined them by the time we left) We ordered almost immediately and our drinks came out fast. Their iced coffee is extremely watered down - I would not recommend it. We didn't see our food or server for another 30 minutes, so I can't honestly say if it was good, or if we were just hungry from having to wait an hour more than expected. I think it was (mostly) good. My only complaint is that the lettuce that came with the eggs benedict was super wilted - some turned black. My non-food complaint is that the server delivered our bill 2 bites in. It was just not a good experience, and I don' think it's worth giving another try. Side note: it bugs me how many of these reviews say how excited they to have a healthy brunch place... guys. check the nutritional info. they have very few options that are actually healthy. fresh and organic doesn't mean healthy - this brand's advertising is very misleading. read more

Since I was allergic to eggs it was very difficult for me to order and it was almost lunch time! I was ready for breakfest but ended up having lunch! My waiter was willing to work with me! It was a great environment and my friends breakfest was great! My meal was amazing(lunch)! I had the salad and sandwich combo and I was not disappointed ! (Under 10bucks ) my friends had French toast and the egg combo and enjoyed every second. I would visit again and highly suggest this place ! read more

UPDATE 5/19: I still love the food here, but it takes FOREVER to come out! And to add insult to injury, there is nothing worse than seeing the waiters and kitchen staff straight chilling and hanging out while you're trying not to pass out from starvation. Like I said before, this is a direct reflection of poor management. This place has the potential to be great, but the super slow service just makes it subpar. They really make it hard for me to want to go out of my way to eat here. Please just hold your staff to a higher standard! I'm begging!!! Lol Initial: Tastes extremely fresh, which is their claim to fame. I have tried several of the omelettes and have not been disappointed yet. The fresh squeezed juice options can be a little off putting if you're used to grocery store versions, but they are still delicious. The only semi negative thing I have to say is the service is pretty bad. They are slow, don't refill empty water containers and very unenthusiastic. Keeping in line with other reviewers, the food was excellent but the service was not that great. We were seated immediately, which was great as we were looking for a quick breakfast and honestly didn't think we would be able to find somewhere without a wait on a Sunday morning. Once we were seated and had a chance to look over the menu, we were surprised by the wide variety of food and placed our order shortly after. Following placing our order, it took almost 35 minutes for someone to come and check on us regarding our drinks (the coffee comes in a table side carafe), which we hadn't received yet. Once we had our food it took another 10 minutes to get the water that we ordered initially. With the water glasses being set as part of the place setting, you would think that water would be on the table as soon as you sat down, but I guess not. The food was absolutely delicious and the key west crepeggs is a unique concept; mixing crepe batter and eggs to make an omelette. The prices are also very affordable for the amount of food you get, another plus. Finally, the decor was very rustic and homey which was a nice change of pace from the big chain restaurants in the area, however, the service still needs to improve. Using the No Wait App is a huge convenience otherwise be prepared to wait over an hour. The food this time around was even better. I absolutely loved my French toast and the Chile chorizo omelet was nicely flavored. Our waitress was friendly and even set us up with an extra table for our food once our neighbors left. My silverware was still dirty *sigh* stuck on food. I asked for another set and used the hot water from my tea to sit them in just for an extra precaution. I'm not a germ-a-phobe but they really need a stronger dishwasher. Come for the French toast but inspect your eating utensils before taking a bite. read more

Great food, HORRIBLE customer service!!! It was our first visit and will be our last! Our server was great, food came out fast and was delicious BUT as we were packing up one of the employees (not our server) comes to the table and says, "I'm not trying to rush you but we need this table." What the heck?!? I have NEVER been asked or rather told to leave a restuarant. I go to this place atleast once a month. The food is great but the service needs alot of work. They are always under staffed. The last time I was there, we waited for 20 minutes, then the server came and took our order.. it took 35 minutes to get our food. My kids were so hungry, I had to pull out snacks from my bag. The server barely checked in on us. He was nice and all, but just had too many tables. I don't go here unless I have three hours to kill. I want so badly to give this place 5 stars but it has a couple major flaws. 1) it took 25 minutes to get our food and 2) everything was overly seasoned with pepper. Checked out First Watch this morning...I like the different selections on the menu. My daughter and I kept it basic. She had the pancakes and bacon. They were great! They're huge! She ordered two but could only finish one and that was wig some help from me...lol. We really enjoyed the taste of the pancakes. I ordered the French toast and bacon. It was good. However, I liked the pancakes better. We will definitely return. One thing I didn't understand was why the floor was so sticky. Granted we were wearing flip flops and it was a hot day, but if we stood in one place for too long, it was an effort to pick up our feet! read more

Good food, slow service... Came here to grab a quick bite to eat on a late Sunday afternoon. The place was packed and there were about 10 guest waiting to be seated. The food was descent but waited 30 minutes or more to be served. My food arrived timely but not my drink :(, had to remind the server. This place could be great if the service was trumped up. The girl (sever) never checked on me until she has to give me the check.so I couldn't tell her about it till the end. And never told the manager. This place is a chain so they are all around the DMV. The food is delicious . . . And healthy! They have a wide selection of food to choose from. Drinks are also good and fresh. Definitely would recommend for breakfast/brunch, especially if you are, or are trying to be, heart healthy. read more

The food was eclectic with all types of options from the traditional breakfast fare you would expect to the some really interesting, innovative options. You could go healthy or you could go decadent and for the 3 of us in my party, we chose options that were all [eventually] homeruns! Unfortunately, while pleasant and reasonably attentive, the wait staff is apparently poorly trained. The food was SUPER slow in coming out and our server, Harold or Howard, was apparently clueless as to service etiquette that when you serve 2 of 3 people, that the 2 served don't eat until the entire table is served--especially when your 3rd party is a guest visiting from a foreign country. When pointing out that minor point of etiquette, he didn't realize as well that throwing "the kitchen" under the bus by saying that they hadn't finished the 3rd meal doesn't matter to HIS service rating overall. I would recommend FirstWatch but you should be prepared for a long wait, a reservation app that doesn't appear to work and service by "Tyrone & Sheniqua" ;-). read more

The persons who use the app have precedence over customers that have been in the restaurant waiting for hours. The staff that busses the tables are extremely slow and the host leaves table without customers and a packed house. I saw tables without customers for 20 minutes at a time. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is average. There is a bacon dish that was very good. The coffee was great. I will try them again but it wasn't the breakfast I had hoped for. read more

I have been a customer for some time and was very disappointed with the lack of customer service I experienced during my last visit. I know the wait time can be ridiculous, so I utilized the app to reserve my space in line (which I was advised to do during my last visit). When I arrived, as was told by the app, Kelly of First Watch said there was 6 ppl ahead of me. I asked how can that be if the app advised to come in during this time. Kelly stated with an attitude, well we can't do nothing about the app, we have nothing to do with that. How can you advise customers to utilize your app, then state we have nothing to do with it. The answer should have been I apologize, we are having issues syncing with actual wait time or something to that nature. I then asked Kelly how long do you think it will take. She then stated with attitude, I don't know, I can't make the ppl currently seated get up. Like what type of answers are these. Another guest asked for the manager. After they spoke to the manager I then expressed to the manager the dissatisfaction with the customer service received by Kelly. The previous customer also agreed with my sentiments. While explaining to the manager, Kelly decides to interject into the conversation in a rude and loud manner. The manager had to tell Kelly to put her mask back on and be quiet more than once. It clearly illustrates the lack of customer service, especially from someone who is supposed to greet/welcome customers into the establishment. My friend and I were so disappointed and disgusted with the whole ordeal that we immediately left. If you've already read this review before, scroll down to the bottom for my rating.Most review the food, but since there are a lot of food reviews, I am reviewing the place itself, but from an accessibility stand point.I am in a wheel chair, have been for some many years now, and while many places are, or are supposed to be, accessible, they meet the minimum standards for accessibility, which are not always comfortable from a realistic view.This is my review of First Watch cafe in Bowie.To begin, though the entrance double doors have an odd 90 degree landing from outside door to inside door, the host stand is close enough that someone is always happily there opening the inside door and greeting, That I've never had to try to navigate that opening.Once inside, the tables and chairs are not crowded so it is not a hassle getting around.Other restaurants, when the host is taking you to your table, they walk normally (Quickly), and navigate or weave around, sometimes walking through our past areas you cannot, or are difficult to, follow. The employees here are more situationally aware. Hosts have led me to my table, walking at a place that was comfortable for me to follow, not too slow not too fast. A few times, when they were about to walk past a tighter area, they stopped, looked at my chair, mentally evaluated the room, then choose a more comfortable route. This small consideration, while probably having a small, if any, meaning to the more able, made a huge impact on my experience.The bathroom situation was also a huge addition. Along with the standard handicap accessible men's and women's rooms, they also have two handicap accessible family bathrooms. Though each has only one toilet, they are huge with the necessary ADA compliant bars and everything. They are family rooms, so if you need assistance in the bathroom, it is comfortable for both you and your care giver.In all, because I had no accessibility issues, I was free to have full enjoyment of the delicious foods.In all, I give First Watch Cafe 5 handicapped placards out of 5 for comfort and accessibility. read more

Okay, let me say that I LOVE the food here. It's healthy, yet delicious. I always get the Trifecta, which includes a light and airy Belgian waffle, your choice of meat, and I usually stick to egg whites scrambled with Gouda cheese. I also get the Morning Meditation detox drink. The meal is so scrumptious, in fact, I think I will go there tomorrow. After going to this place a couple of years ago, I can no longer tolerate IHOP. IHOP is now beneath my tastebuds. The only reason why this place doesn't get 5 stars is because they tend to be very slow. Slow to take your order, slow to serve you, slow to give you your check. First let me say I love the environment. Reminds me of a farms to table spot. I had the day glow juice...it was alright. My husband and I share 1 pancake. I ordered the Market Hash and my husband ordered No Guilt veggie wrap. Yes, that's a lot of food please don't judge us. My Market hash was the best. Anything that contains goat cheese I am always going to pick. But this dish was well balance. Veggies...cheese and eggs. I dont like dippy eggs so I got my fried hard. It was well season and I can't wait to order it again. The dish came with a fruit cup and English muffin with great preserves. The pancake had a great crust. Crust???? Yes crust, I love a nice crust on a pancake. Still light and fluffy. I didn't try the no Guilt wrap because I was too wrap up in my hash. Please try a hash....any hash will do. Today we had Danielle who is my favorite, very nice, knowledgeable about the menu and she kept making sure we were taken care of. My only complaint is the water glasses always have spots on them.
