The under 1 children have their own place with a high provider to kid ratio. The play ground outside is great for the older kids and the little guys go on walks (wagon rides) when the weather's nice. The rates are better than most places in the area and because they have the little ones in a separate area until they're 1, it's easy to predict when spots open. I had been in the Army, I finished college and once I was out I couldn't find a job. I was homeless with a 3 year old. I had to stay at a shelter for three months. I found a place and a job at the VA hospital while there. Before we could get into the place a racist employee of the shelter kicked us out, unauthorized. 3 days we stayed in a motel I paid for while waiting for our apartment. I told the owner on the phone we'd been kicked out of the shelter. Big mistake! After work one day one of these student staff kids Dana went off on me yelling that I made her sick and I shouldn't be allowed to have a kid. I had never spoken to this girl before. I told the owner on the phone while this was going on and she said "no comment". I had to withdraw my son. I will never forget how the owner did nothing about the discrimination or the inappropriate comments toward a parent, one who has worked her butt off alone beyond anything this staff could imagine. Be careful for whatever they may decide to discriminate against.....don't send your kid here.

I was apprehensive when she started her summer program that she wouldn't be able to continue through the entire summer. Not only has the staff helped her through these issues. They've made her feel welcomed and cared for deeply. I myself had health issues this summer and knowing that my daughter is not only safe but she's loved is priceless. This is a fantastic center and I would give 100 stars if I could.
