If our son didn't like coming here, we would have picked a different place a long time ago but he enjoys it and so do we!

I wanted my child to have exposure to a second language, but I had planned to limit that to Spanish (which I speak a bit and which she got in little bits of in her PreK). She LOVED the Mandarin classes, though -- and when I'd ask her for any Spanish (even basics like hello) she would look at me blankly, but she would sing entire songs in Mandarin. Cut to a year later, and in the fall of her Kindergarten year there was a Spanish after school program associated with her school. I signed her up there (partly for ease/cost, and partly bc I figured we'd switch officially). But again -- blank stares when I'd ask how the class went. She'd bring home little worksheets etc. but it really seemed like the class was kind of dull and not engaging. And she kept asking me to "go back to Mandarin." So for the second semester we enrolled her in the LB class and by luck the same teacher that had taught her preK (Rachel) was teaching the time we wanted. Yet again: SHE LOVES IT. Example: today she spontaneously says from the back of the car: "yi plus er equals san." (1+2=3). She also has used a mandarin word for something (like "snake") at random, and because I speak zero mandarin I'll say "what??" and she'll say "it's Mandarin, mommy!" I also like that the teachers communicate the curriculum really well, and provide helpful material for parents like us who don't speak the language at all. My daughter's also comes home with work that shows how engaged she is; including beautiful written characters that the teacher has meticulously given feedback on. It's clear that she's learning a lot, and enjoying it, which is to me the most you can ask for! So, we're loving it. Highly recommended!

The staff has been very helpful in communicating with us about our children's behavior and academic progress. Our older child started at public school this year and she is ahead of many of her peers with all she learned at Victoria Children's group. We actually have her at Victoria for afterschool still, specifically because we feel that the academic support is better there than at some other afterschool programs we looked at. The new facility on Grand and Orchard is bright and pleasant and the kids feel good about going there. More importantly, the staff is kind, the kids talk very positively about their teachers and helpers, and they have made many nice friends among the other kids there.

My daughter attended this school for 6 months for the 2016-17 school year. My only complaint is that I wish we could have sent her to MLV for the entire school year. This school tuition is competitively priced for similar private nursery schools this neighborhood. It is close to mass transit both beneath and above the ground. Security is excellent, in order for your to enter the school you must first be buzzed in and there is usually a staff person who greets those who enter before entering the school. MLV is centrally located with several local and wonderful parks in the immediate vicinity. The number one reason why you should send your child to this school are the people who work there. Everyone at the school, both management and staff are a joy to interact with. Our child usually came home with smile on her face and when she didn't, staff were always available to consult to discuss whatever classroom politics took place that day that didn't agree with her. I could go on forever about all of the great things about this school. Ask to speak with parents who have sent their children there as a reference. They do a lot of arts and crafts in class and they get posted on the school walls. Tuition is a lot for kids below age 2 and after age 2 the tuition is few hundreds cheaper. The kids day to day activities, meals, and bowel urine movements are tracked and recorded on their mobile application that parents can see. The school also records and takes pictures of the kids' activities on their application. The school also hosts events like movie knights and holiday celebration after school with parents so it's very fulfilling that parents can engage with their children for these events. So far my daughter is learning a lot and a lot of discipline instilled in the classes.
