Today is my sons last day at the school and during drop off I honestly cried! He is more than ready to start kindergarten. To be honest the teacher already told us how advanced our son is with his academics during orientation!!! This school has provided so much for us over the past 3 years and it was the best decision we have made by enrolling him their. The day starts off with my son telling me to hurry because Mom just takes too long to drop him off. In fact he has tried to run in without me quite a few times. The morning routine starts off with a healthy check for the kids. The school really focuses on making sure the child is getting a well balanced snack as well as lunch. This has helped my son not only become aware of his well balanced diet but learned the food groups at such a young age. He takes pride in knowing what is in his lunch and choosing his snacks. The childrens health and safety are a top priority. The school makes sure not only that the child has a well balanced diet while in their care, but also that they are healthy. We all know germs travel fast at their age and first school does everything in their power to be sure that your child is both healthy and happy! One way of doing this is a tempeture check every morning. After that my son is greeted in the classroom by his teacher and several classmates. This school just puts a smile on my sons face that tells me im doing the best for him by taking him there, the fact that he literally pushes me out the door tells me he loves it there. The creativity in the classroom in uncanning. The teachers and staff are amazing. There is not one teacher there that does not do everything in their power to provide a safe, happy and healthy environment for your child. During nap time they make it a priority to allow the children to rest and replenish their energy for the afternoon. I value the fact that my child is not disrupted and can ensure he is well rested. To the directors, staff and teachers, thank you for the amazing exerperince and truly making my son not only happy but flourish with knowledge. We have truly enjoyed this experience and appreciate every thing this school has done for our child now and helped me mold him into an amazing young man. Thank you! To those parents who are wondering if they should put their child in this school, without a doubt.... YES!!! read more

We truly enjoyed this school, but what we appreciated most was Ms. Zoe and her incredible dedication to our children. The amount of love, care, and effort she pours into teaching is evident every single day. As our daughter transitioned into TK, we were frequently complimented on how advanced she was. Our response was always the same: "She had the best preschool teacher!" Ms. Zoe built such a strong foundation for her, and we will always be grateful for that. She was also one of the few staff members who was consistently present, rarely missing a day and always showing up for the children in her class. Her communication with parents was exceptional, and together we were able to work as a team to support our daughters in the best way possible. We can't express enough gratitude for everything Ms. Zoe has done for our family, and we will forever recommend her to anyone looking for a preschool teacher. Leaving your children with people you don't know is always nerve-wracking, especially after we've had a difficult experience with a previous childcare provider. Ms. Zoe completely changed our perspective on what a caring, compassionate, and nurturing educator should be. If you ever have the opportunity to have your child in Ms. Zoe's class, don't hesitate. We couldn't recommend her more highly. read more

My daughter has been going to first school in La Quinta since she was 18months and today was her last day there and will be moving on to kinder. Her teacher was Miss Maria. I want to thank her so much for everything. She takes her time with each of her students. The love and dedication she has for her students is so excellent. My daughter always talks about she loves her teacher, how she had so much fun in her classrooms and all the wonderful projects they did. She definitely made learning fun for her students. I've seen so much improvement in my daughter from her speech to her learning her numbers, month and days of the week in both English and Spanish. I would really recommend this school and to have miss Maria as a teacher. To all the stuff here as well. Thank you so much for all your help! For being there whenever we have questions and or any concerns. Miss Siri thank you for everything you have done for Avery as well when she was your student. She had so much fun and learn so many things in your class. She still remembers being in your class and you both hold a special place with her. If you're looking for a preschool/daycare you can count on first school. She will miss first school! read more

Today was my sons last day at First School LQ. Next week he will be starting TK. My son attended first school for 2.5 years and he has grown so much in that short amount of time. He has become more social, learn so much academically and we even took advantage of the Spanish class they offered. The staff grew to know my son and he was always excited to attend. They send home daily notes letting you know what your child did and what they learned for the day, it's a way to stay connected to your child's learning. I would always read them aloud and ask my son questions based on the daily activity. I throughly enjoy the annual packets they send home with your children. They start off in the beginning of the school year and end at the end of the school year, showing your child's progress through the year. I've tucked them away so I can show my son when he's older. I'd like to thank the teachers who personally made an impression on my son and helped teach him to be the smart young boy he is today. Miss Monica in room 4, Miss Samantha in room 10 and most importantly miss Donna in room 9. Thank you for all you do each and everyday! read more

Our son has attended First School for going on 3 years and we so blessed to a apart of this school. We didn't have the same experience with other schools in the valley and feel so fortunate to have found a home at First School. The school, classrooms and playgrounds are clean and well maintained. The curriculum that the kids follow are by far the best in the valley that we have experienced. The owner, Miss Heather truly cares about the children, parents and teachers. She has always made time to personally speak to us about concerns and worked with any challenges we had . The teachers and staff are AMAZING! Every teacher seems to genuinely care about the children, especially Miss Olivia. We love her and so does our son. He loves school and there are days he's rather stay to finish his worksheets than go home! It's not easy to find people that care about your children as much as you do, but First School comes close. Thank you to all the teachers, staff and Miss Heather for all of your hard work!!! Our son's experiences here are setting the foundations for a bright educational future. read more

This place is more than just a daycare center, to us it feels like an extension of our family. This year, I started my youngest son (2.5 years old) at the Cat. City location, this was his first time at a daycare and away from family, and the teachers made his transition safe, fun and loving. Miss Brianna is there at the front desk and she welcomed us back like we were family and she makes each morning drop off easy peazy, like a day at your Aunties house. My son loves walking to his classroom with her each morning. Honestly, all the staff here at first school have huge hearts, caring mindsets and make every effort to make your child feel comfortable in their individualized way. My older son loves to go with me to pick up his little brother and to say hi to all his old teachers, whom he still talks about years later. I highly recommend this center for your children, as I cant imagine my children anywhere else. Thanks for all your hard work First School Teachers!! read more

My son has been in the LQ location since 2024, and all I can say is we're extremely Happy with our decision of putting him there. The whole staff is so friendly and welcoming! Always on top of everything! My son's teacher now is Ms. Viana and ever since he's been in her classroom we've noticed the huge improvement he's done when it comes to arts & crafts, trying to socialize more, wanting to be more involved with the activities she has them do. Not only that but she's always making sure to keep us informed with everything that goes on. Our son is autistic and has a speech delay, so we were a little worried how that would turn out. But he's doing so good! Trying to sing the songs, numbers, and alphabet. You can tell he enjoys his time with them. The whole staff has been so amazing. Ms. Viana and the whole staff always make sure to make him feel safe and never single him out because of his condition. Which we truly appreciate and love. read more

Our family is beyond pleased with the staff at First School in La Quinta and highly recommend the facility to anyone who asks about our child care situation. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, approachable, and very welcoming. Bless the amazing teachers for all the patience and care they provide our children. Having an education background, my standards and expectations are very high. First School in La Quinta has done an amazing job living up to our needs. We are very excited to witness how much our children have grown socially, emotionally, and are getting a wonderful foundation for future academics. We'd especially like to thank Ms. Gee, Ms. Siri, Ms. Maria and Ms. Elvia for all that they have done and continue to do daily for our children. Lastly, we are so grateful to the office staff Ms. Maria and Ms. Karen for going above and beyond. It gives us peace of mind knowing that our children are in the best of hands. read more

Our little guy has been going to First School in La Quinta. Next year he will be in Kindergarten. We are so blessed that he is at First School and Miss Maria Hernandez is his teacher. She is AMAZING! He has flourished so much in her class. He knows his alphabet, he can count, his coloring has improved in the lines, cuts out objects, learns and sings songs, his communication through conversation is clear. She sends us with a full report of what they are practicing is class that week and day to help encourage his skills. She has so much love for the kids in her class and it shows. Our little guy, loves going to school and that is so important to us. As well as learning all the necessary skills to prepare him for Kindergarten, he truly enjoys all the other aspects of it. We are so thankful to Miss Maria H. She plays a huge instrumental role in this stage of our little guys' life. Thank you, The Dixons read more

We love First School! My daughter has been going there since she was 20 months and we have had the best experience. The activities are well thought out, there is great structure to the day, the art work is adorable, and the dress up days are so fun. We love all the teachers and administrators. Miss G in room 3 was our first teacher and my Daughter just adores her. She will always be special to us! Even though Addie has moved on to a new room with AMAZING Teachers, Miss G still checks in on her and gives her big hugs! All of the teachers we have encountered are loving, kind and caring. We have seen a ton of growth in our daughter in the 7 mo. She has been in their care. She comes home singing songs, telling us stories, and we are amazed in her letter and number recognition... And she only goes two days a week!! We give First School an A+ and would highly recommend it! read more

Typically I'm reserved when it comes to offering an opinion but my dealings with First School of the Desert merits an evaluation. Simply put: First School of the Desert provides the kind of service that will make just about any parent extremely satisfied! I say "just about any parent" because there are always "those people" that believe they have been ordained to complain. For the rest of us...First School practices old fashion work ethics. The teachers are compassionate and make the school day fun (and safe) for the children. The school grounds are relatively new and always maintained well. My sons are at home when they attend preschool. If you are like me, you can't put a price tag on trust...and I totally trust First School of the Desert. Translated: First School of the Desert is invaluable! read more

My daughter has been at First School of La Quinta for 5 months now. From the moment I enrolled her, we have had nothing but positive experiences! At 18 months, my daughter had never been in anyone else's care besides my own. It was tough at first but her teachers were exceptional in making the transition as smooth as possible. Miss G and Miss Karina greet her every morning with a hug and genuinely seem happy to see her! It is a great feeling when you know that not only is your child being well cared for, they are also being taught so many new things! Her vocabulary has improved so much by being there! I cannot say enough great things about Miss G and Miss Karina, wonderful teachers! The front office and the other staff I have encountered have always been very pleasant and helpful. read more

Cathedral City First School is the best and I have recommended it to many of my friends that are searching for nurturing and quality childcare. The staff is wonderful and so loving to all of the children. My daughter started going there when she was 2 years old; she started in Miss Samantha's class and was in her class again when she turned 4. Miss Samantha taught my daughter how to write her name, numbers, letters, she even potty trained her and taught her how to tie her shoes. Samantha is great as are all of the staff members at First School. I feel very comfortable and confident that my daughter is in great hands when I drop her off every morning. My experience with First School has been a very positive one and I am so happy that I found them for my childcare needs. read more

My son has been going to First School for the past two years. The staff at first school have always treated us like family. Ms. Olivia at the office always goes above and beyond to make my son feel at home. We have seen several teachers over the years from Ms. Karina to Ms. Deborah to Ms. Maria. Every teacher with a different teaching style but all equally instrumental in my son's growth and I admire their patience because my son can be a handful at times :-) And as my son gets ready to leave to kindergarten this year I look forward to introducing my younger son into First School because it feels like home. Oh and if I had to say anything negative, it would be that some of the staff are Dodger fans ha! J/k we love them anyway. read more

This review is for the Cathedral City location. We are so thankful for First School and everything they did to help my son adjust to Kindergarten this year. The staff at FSD is amazing! Miss Linda, the principal, is welcoming and so great with the kids. She is a great communicator and runs a great school. Ms Mayra is by far my son's favorite teacher while he has at the school. She really gets to know each kid and what they like and ensures that the kids want to come to school there each day. We participated in the kinder walk over program to Sunny Sands and FSD was a lifesaver walking my son to school each morning and picking him up after school. We highly recommend FSD to any family. They are wonderful! read more

I can't say enough about the staff at First School La Quinta; it's always nerve racking to start a new careprovider for my lil girl, always worried about how my daughter would handle it and if the staff would listen to my concerns. Ms. K & Ms. G were not only warm, welcoming & patient w/ my baby girl but they were the same w/ me. I think parents are just as anxious and nervous the first few weeks but in only a short amount of time my lil girl scurries to her class and I'm not worried at work because I know she is having fun and in caring hands. The ladies up front are exceptional as well - Ms. Maria & Ms. Olivia were gracious and accomodating even before we enrolled. Would recommend this center to anyone. read more

We've been at First School (Cathedral City) for three years now, and we're so grateful we found it. After having a really difficult experience at a previous Montessori school, we were nervous about finding the right place for our kids. First School has been such a positive experience for our whole family. We especially love Ms. Arcadia. She is kind, patient, and genuinely cares about her students. She takes the time to really get to know each child and makes them feel safe, supported, and excited to come to school. As a parent, it means so much to know your child is with a teacher who truly cares about them. We're so thankful for Ms. Arcadia and for the three wonderful years we've had at First School! read more

I want to thank Miss Nicole for being a wonderful teacher to my baby boy. She's very kind and my son trusts her and loves going to class. I trust that my baby is in safe hands under her care. Miss Nicole is very informative and helpful to me as a first time mother. She has given me great tips to help ensure my son's educational learning. She and Miss Addy made my son's birthday a memorable one by helping with decorations. I'm a mother working with a budget and couldn't afford to supply any decorations and they came thru for me. I'm forever grateful and I wish Miss Nicole could be my son's teacher every class. We will miss you! I highly recommend her and first school of La Quinta as a whole! read more

Choosing First School was one of the BEST decisions my husband and I made for our children. Our boys have grown so much since starting at First School from potty training to learning. My oldest starts kindergarten tomorrow and he is ready for it because of everything the teachers have done for him to make sure he is well prepared. He loves his teacher Miss Maria and he is super sad he won't be in her class anymore, but he is excited to see her every morning when we drop his brother off for school. The teachers and office staff are super friendly by greeting everyone as they come office and before they depart for the day; they care for and love each of our children as their own. read more
