This family is truly there when you need help from spiritual healing, personal giants, or just a shoulder to cry on. I have never felt closer to God and I owe my thanks to Pastor John, his family, and everyone that makes FAM special. I also appreciate how the church handles some of the more political issues we face now. It is handled by asking everyone to respect other even if opinions are different. There is no fire and brimstone preaching but Pastor John keeps it honest and constructive. All are truly welcome in FAM.

I have never felt so comfortable at a church for only being there a short amount of time. FAM offers something for everyone while helping us grow in Jesus. Our family had been searching for a church for a while and FAM was exactly what we were looking for. It truly embodies the mission of loving Jesus and loving people and I could not be more grateful to be a part of such a wonderful church.

A place where we go to meet and worship God. SCC is a very Biblical Church that follows the Bible…read more A place where we: Our Beliefs at Summit Community Church Our Beliefs are summarized in our Purpose Statement: "We exist to glorify God by Reaching Up, Reaching In, and Reaching Out." Reach Up We believe in the one living and true God who is the Creator of everything. He has eternally existed in perfect unity as three equally and fully divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4; John 17:3; Hebrews 1:2-3 We believe that God created us to worship Him and give Him glory. Isaiah 43:7, 21; Psalms 96:9; Matthew 4:10 We believe that sin has kept us from knowing God and worshipping Him. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, was physically resurrected, and now offers a restored relationship with God to all who believe and trust in Him. John 3:16; Romans 3:21-24 We believe that salvation is a free gift given from God and must be received personally by faith. John 5:24; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-9 We believe the Bible is the complete record of God's self-disclosure and a fully accurate account of God's love for us. Scripture is our final and sufficient authority for all of life and its purpose is to show us how to have a relationship with Him, worship Him and glorify Him. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21 Reach In We believe that Jesus established His Body on earth in the Church and the church exists to make known the Gospel and declare the glory of Jesus throughout the world. 1 Corinthians 12:12-31; Colossians 1:18-20; 1 Peter 2:9 We believe the church is a family and that every believer should be connected with a local body of believers for the purpose of mutual encouragement, spiritual growth and accountability. Ephesians 4:11-16; Colossians 3:12-27; Hebrews 10:24-25 Reach Out We believe that God cares about every need of every person and that the Church, as Christ's Body, is to show His love and care for every person. Every member of the church is called to be a minister of the gospel through both acts of loving service and through a willingness to share the truth of the gospel with everyone where they live, work, and play. John 13:34-35; 1 Peter 3:15; 1 Peter 4:8 We believe that the scope of God's love is worldwide and we are committed to taking the gospel to the farthest and most unreached places of the world. Isaiah 49:6; Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 10:13-15; 1 Timothy 2:3-4 Worship with us Sunday!

My four year old granddaughter has attended preschool at First United Methodist Church for the past…read moretwo years. Recently, she had a morning that did not go well for her and therefore, she did not want to go to school that day. When I took her into Miss Kays Class she continued to cling to my leg and did not want to stay. Both teachers went out of their way to acclimate her to class by showing her special toys and even a guitar that Miss Kay played. Also, Miss Kay held her to make her feel better. I realize if you have not been in this situation, this may seem in-coincidental or unimportant but to me I left with confidence that she was very well cared for and valued by her teacher. When I picked her up at 12:00 she was happy and told me she had a great day. Phyllis Polo

I have 1 child that went through the program and is now in 2nd grade and left the program more prepared for Kindergarten than I could have imagined. My 5 year old is in the same boat as my 2nd grader in that she will leave Preschool well prepared for Kindergarten. Can't say enough nice things about this program and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent preschool in the Hickory area.
