FIrst of all, Michele is a real artisan. And a delight to work with. She knows what she's doing, can be of great assistance in make choices both for the design, and ultimately the materials that will work well with both the shape of your face and your own sense of style. And --- they are flexible, attentive, efficient. I can't say enough positive things about the experience. These are custom made frames. She has a good selection of "off-the-rack" ones as well, but it is really the custom made stuff that sets them apart. They have everything from bone, to tortoise shell, and literally thousands of variations of acetate frames. The choice would be overwhelming were it not for Michele's ability to guide you through the selection process. I've been wearing glasses for nearly 60 years. This is the very first time that friends remark not just that I have new frames, but how distinctive, stylish, attractive, and appropriate they are. I bought the frames on a trip to Paris. Unlike others who do fittings in Paris and then ship the measurements off to elsewhere, Michele does all of the work on site. That meant that I could have my glasses three days after walking in to her shop - not three weeks later. It made the entire process compatible with a short trip to Paris. In may case, I decided to have the lenses cut and installed when I got back to the US. No problem at all. Michele installed clear lenses, and when I got hope they made the swap. Her prices are comparable to the cost of frames in many of our local optical shops. But the quality, fit, finish and style are worlds better. If I could give this shop 10 stars I would.

I had tried on a pair of $400 glasses at another store and was impressed by them and had them in mind when walking into this store, so I wanted to be impressed, However, the service and the fact that I had to ask the angry man to look at one pair of glasses was absolutely ridiculous.

My first experience with AV was Year 2016...and I've never gotten so many compliments on a pair of…read moreeye glasses in my life! I absolutely adore them. The TSO technician told me about 15-20 years ago (can't remember how long ago really) that AV's son had come into this TSO store all disheveled from traveling about door to door all day pursuing businesses. The original doctor of this TSO location (since retired) loved the frames and said yes! Some background info told to me by my eye tech... The son told the doctor how the Valentin frames came about being made by his father; who I shall refer to as the creative genius of artsy frames!!! It was because his wife wasn't satisfied and didn't like any of the eyeglass frames being sold in Paris at the time...so Mr. Valentin (genius mastermind and engineer I think) got to work. But, because his frames were so unique and out of the box...made out of resin for instance...the son had a hard time getting eye doctors to agree to display and sell them. And so because this TSO doctor on a small Texas island near the Gulf of Mexico ocean...in Galveston said YES...I have a fabulous pair of specticals that I adore! Shop TSO! This location has the best selection of frames I've ever seen.

Well-made stylish glasses but don't order at a trunk show. I ordered a pair in October of 2023 and…read morenever received them. My optician called the company and they kept giving him a date, three different times and they were never sent. I personally emailed the company twice and never got a response. Very bad customer service for any company, especially one selling higher end frames.
