I visited the church on Christmas Eve. I was the only African American person there, which is not shocking to me because in my job, in meetings, etc., I am often the only African American in the group & there's no problem. My first interaction with others was when you greet each other with "Peace Be With You". The couple in front of me said it to me ; I said it to them & stuck out my hand; & they would not shake my hand. I just stood there and looked at another young man in the row ahead of me & he looked at me; but made no attempt to approach me; & after the previous experience, I didn't either. A very nice young man in my row came over, extended his hand & said, "Peace Be With You", & I said the same. The Associate Pastor was very friendly to me, as were the ushers and a few other people. I really enjoyed the service. No one invited me to come back. read more
