All rooms have…read morea view over the creek and we were fortunate enough to be bumped up to the only room with a balcony, also overlooking the creek, when I visited with a friend for a two night stay. Large room with plenty of light entering through the window and balcony door, comfortably soft bed, large bathroom, and a decent breakfast buffet was included in the price. The prices are very affordable, this being one of the cheapest places to stay in the Karlshamn area, and definitely worth considering if you're visiting Karlshamn. We stayed at Scandic Karlshamn during the Sweden Rock Festival 2013…read more We were very pleased. This is a really small and almost intimate Scandic hotel - compared to big city hotels. The staff was super friendly - including all of them. I have stayed at many hotels within the Scandic chain - you know what you get. Room is small but clean, flat screen HD TV with good selection of channels and even some free film and sports channels. We had a room on street level which was a bit annoying when getting dressed - so we had the curtains closed at all times. Bathroom is small and if your are supersupersized you will probably have difficulties getting into the shower. No towels for the floor which makes the floor very wet and you have to use one of the ordinary towels. I do not know if this is always the case, but I guess they had adjusted hours for breakfast to the fact that all (?) guests were there for the rock festival. Breakfast was served until 11 every morning, not only weekends. This was very much appreciated! Buffet is as any Scandic buffet - you will recognize it. maybe a bit smaller than at larger Scandics. They did not have both sausages AND meatballs - they had either or which is a downer. The scrambled eggs were creamy and good every morning. Beds are firm (too firm for me) but pillows are soft! A bit sensitive to room above, I don't know if it is the wooden floors - I've had the same experience at other Scandic hotels similar to this. Also late night they had hot dogs for SEK20 when coming back from the festivals - which I think was a nice service. Beer selection in the lobby is OK - they had Bulldog pale ale. They have outdoor seatings which was nice these sunny days. Free wifi. If you are looking for accommodations for the SRF I certainly recommend this hotel. Buses to the festival is just 5-10 minutes walk from here. Unfortunately this Scandic will turn Best Western from Jan 2014 - so for all you Scandic loyalty members there will no longer be a Scandic in Blekinge for your next Sweden Rock festival. They accept AMEX.

The Ronneby Brunn hotel is the largest hotel in Ronneby - admittedly Ronneby is a small town in…read morerural Sweden. The hotel is situated right next to the Brunnspark which is a beautiful, large park and gardens. The hotel itsself has plenty of conference and health club facilities - often hosting conventions (they sometimes even host rock bands playing at the nearby Swedish Rock Festival in summer). The food is pretty decent and staff are very pleasant and friendly. The large number of rooms have undergone recent rennovation and are comfortable, furnished in a typical scandinavian style. There is WiFi in the hotel but this does not extend to many of the hotel rooms - a serious oversight in this day and age, and I'm afraid that the hotel loses one rating star from me because of that. On the whole a comfortable, friendly, agreeable business hotel. April 2008 Update: Just come back from a short stay - WiFi was working in my room so it may be that they have sorted out the WiFi situation
