The restaurant has a bit of hippy feeling. While discovering the city of arnhem on a sunny day, this seemed the perfect stop for outdoor..

First of all, the coffee here is really good. They have their own brand of coffee that they roast,…read moreand you can also buy bags of coffee beans to take home with you. Secondly, the selection of home-made pies/cakes is amazing. It was hard to make a choice, since they all looked so delicious. The only thing really stopping me from giving a 5 star review is the service. They were very nice, but there were a few instances where they just never came to ask us if we wanted anything. It wasn't even that busy, so I don't know why. Also, the one server misunderstood my friend several times, but that could be due to a difference in Dutch accents? I could understand both of them but apparently they couldn't understand each other as well. All in all, I would recommend this as a nice spot to grab a good cup of coffee and a piece of pie, but I wouldn't be in any kind of hurry......

They have a wonderful staff, that is not only nice but makes you feel right at home. The menu is something truly wonderful, I mean if you like beverages (yes I'm being broad) this is the place for you, the classic cafe staples and a bunch of new beverages are all wonderful. And their selection of food is nothing to be shy about either. But for me, the best combo is the Chai Tea Latte and the Red Velvet Cake...I might just grab that today

Mind…read moreyou, it isn't as if Arnhem is a big place, but still this bar does have a huge amount of character, and quite a few decent beers on tap as well. Mind you, since I was in Arnhem I had to find out which was the number one bar, visit it, and write a review on it, which is obviously what I have just done. Mind you, it was pretty crowded, but then again it was a Thursday night, and summer. The atmosphere was electric, and they even had a pool table (something that I hadn't seen in many, if any, or the other bars that I have visited so far). The other thing is that it is not located in the major part of the old town, but still this bar does draw a fair number of partons.

The view! The place! The food! The service!…read more A very, very enjoyable experience. We went for a short walk, ended up with cocktails and a delicious dinner instead. Life can be so simple. I took some amazing pictures of the sun setting, and for Dutch people the skies are everything. We love our skies and our cheese. I lose track, let's get back to the review of the food, because the service was super. I don't think I have had people check in on us as often as they did -- a definite plus, even with a private bridal party going on upstairs, who were enjoying an even better view than us considering their height. It was more than enough for me. Just being able to have the time to sit, chill, talk with my partner, and look at a menu where I actually was tempted by more than one dish, were pure joy. I remember I tried pork belly, for the first time in my life because fat has, up to now, kind of grossed me out. Not anymore! It was tender, melt-in-your-mouth quality, and absolutely delicious. The pork belly had that special touch of a good chef who can combine flavors well. Great flavors in there! I also tried the fresh lavender lemonade and can recommend that as well. Do be aware that it is rather sweet and the water is flat, so I asked for club soda with it. No problem. Dessert was excellent according to my partner. So guess what? Next time I am in Holland I am grabbing my partner and going here again.

The ample spaces and the limited amount of seats gives it a wonderful grotto feeling! As for the menu expect a bit of the basics, coffee tea, cappuccino, you know the basis... But in a back to basics done good vibe! I've ordered an amazing Chai latte that for the first time in a long time is actually made with tea, not syrups nor powders. When your eyes adjust to the light, you can see the multitude of seating; there's small tables big tables, chairs, loveseats, a rocking chair, a small bookcase with titles solely from Clive Cussler (?), and some magazines. It's all very atmospheric. Onto the coffee. There's different ways and kinds available to choose from, the aeropress, v60, chemex. I chose the Rwandan coffee through aeropress, and boy was it delicious. You get a card with information about the coffee in both Dutch and English. It's all served in a classy way, and the staff is friendly. If I lived in Arnhem, I'd be going here a lot more often. Sadly, I live more than an hour away. I think that says enough about the kind of place it is. Note: I don't think the cave is accessible by wheelchair, but I could be mistaken. The coffee is great enough to just get it on the go too, but sitting here is very relaxing.
