I arrived with all of my required documents and was assigned a loan officer, Sara. To start out, Sara has ZERO customer service. She did not attempt to engage in any conversation with myself or mother and did not answer our questions with enough information from the get go. Instead of explaining the loan process, she asked me questions about how I would like the loan set up, if I wanted gap insurance etc. This was odd as these are usually questions you ask once you are approved. Needless to say, Sara said I was flat out denied and did not even suggest options to improving my credit as most officers do. When I returned later that day with a co-signer, she again did not greet me or engage in any customer service. It was honestly one of the most uncomfortable situations I have ever been in. She should not be in customer service. I was approved at another bank, with a very knowledgeable, kind officer. Oh, and I got the SAME rate as SECU.

Examples are numerous but let's start with we "tried" to open accounts for our kids and teach them money management this bank could even set up the account. We tried to transfer and small amount to get the account and they didn't do that. Well they did one but not the other. Here is even a worse case their mortgage lender Andy told me it would be no problem to get a construction loan and when the time came to do the loan the uppers said no. I'm mean I'm A paper and this idiot basically wasted my time and I had to struggle to get another loan. Ps a full 3/4 of a point lower also. Here's another case they couldn't even wire transfer money to my sister without it being a ridiculous headache for me. She was closing on a house and need some quick assist. This wire transfer took 3 days and my sister almost lost the house. The cards they give you don't work out of state so if you need actual cash heads up don't travel with a SECU card and expect to be able to take out cash. The cards for my kids accounts never work even though I called in person while I was at the bank to make sure they were working properly. Basically I will be spending the day moving all my auto payments and banking today because the bank just sucks. Seriously state employees, of which both my wife and I, should sue this bank for the tarnish of state employees reputation they slander and devalue with their incompetence. Seriously those with real banking need avoid this bank!

Now I can't talk to a human at my branch they can't fix my bill pay that was messed up when their system merged. It's a stinking nightmare. I've called 5 times a day for 2 days straight- can't get a person to help me. I'll be looking for a new bank.
