I'm always greeted warmly when I enter the doors. Service always starts with Worship team and they are excellent. Pastor Reginald Devaugn is the senior pastor there. And I always get alot of encouragement and Bible focused messaging. He is a hands on and practical pastor that speaks from his lived experience of being human just like his parishioners. He is deep in the community, and makes a point to bring up community and civic engagement in and around the city of Houston and even beyond. Church service times are 8am and 10am on Sundays. They also live stream online from there website and YT. They have activities throughout the week. And a children's academy for school. The service itself is about 1.5 hours. The people that attend are a mix of young families, and couples, and young people, but also older folks. After service you can enjoy there coffee shop that sells a large selection of hot & cold drinks, along with snacks/pastries/breakfast items.

Pastor Reginald DeVaughn Sr always gives a Bible-based ( typically NIV version for easier modern-day understanding) and impactful message relevant to real life and current events. Local politicians and other notable local figures often stop by. Great service time options: 8:00AM and 10:00AM. The children's ministries are wonderful. The kiddos are so talented. It's such a blessing watching the youth perform on All Family Sundays. It can get a little too loud so I keep a pair of ear plugs with me. Not a big deal for me but many will appreciate the offering always comes last and the pastor barely mentions it. Love this church and happy it is near my home. It's wonderful attending with my fellow Yelper when our schedules align. Pastor DeVaughn truly seems to care about his congregation and ensuring everyone is covered in Jesus name. I appreciate how he's a steadfast champion of the progression and equality of Black Pearland and minorities. Silverlake Church is such a blessing to the Pearland community.

Nonetheless, we started watching Crosspoint's services while we lived in Midland, TX since we knew we would be moving to Houston and wanted to find a new church that was similar to the one we attended in Midland. We were looking for a modern, nondenominational church with an excellent children's ministry, great band/music and welcoming atmosphere. Crosspoint church nailed it on all accounts! Everyone here is so friendly. Pastor Tom delivers a great message every Sunday. The band plays modern Christian songs which we love singing along to... it's like a rock concert every time we go! The kids program is amazing and our children love coming here! The children's check in/out system is good so we feel safe leaving our kids while we worship. The cafe is a nice aspect so you can grab a cup of coffee (and/or a donut). Small groups are urged as this church is on the "bigger side." We haven't yet joined a small group but plan to in the future. The only negative is that it is about a 25 minute drive for us. We love coming to Crosspoint so we'll still make the commute. One last suggestion: our last church had a marriage ministry. Every Tuesday night there was a marriage night where various topics were discussed and then couples would break off into small groups to further discuss what was just taught. It was amazing for strengthening our marriage. We would love to see a program like that started at Crosspoint church!
