I am going to yelp about each church in hopes to gives others a look before they leap. Life church meets at 10am. They had Sunday school and child watch for both my kids. Walking in the door EVERYONE was so so nice. Above and beyond nice. They are small enough that everyone could tell we were new. We were greeted, encouraged, and they were happy to see us. Life church is on the charismatic side, so expect to say some "amens" and at the end you put your arms up to receive a blessing. Paster Jan seemed very knowledgeable and was very kind to us after the sermon. He spoke on grace and generosity. He used the message Bible and maybe others. He reminded the congregation to humble themselves, so that Christ love be shown before all else. It was a topical study. The pastor maybe 6times gave himself a pat on the back in order to get the room to say "amen" or to "come alive". It wasn't abnormal for a charismatic church pastor but it did get a little redundant toward the end. During the sermon a lady in the congregation had a vision and she spoke her vision to the room. The music was contemporary, lively, and with four singers and drums, guitarist. They did a great job. The toddler room looked full of fun toys, pictures and because it's also a day care, the walls were very creative. They rotate parents into the room to watch the kids. The parents in there that week said you might take a shift once a month. The under 2 room had just as much fun happening but three times the amount of kids. They requested my diaper bag so if my infant needed a change, they could help. My husband tried putting our infant in the room but I think it might be to busy for him and too soon (motherly paranoia). He obviously lived to see another service. :) They eagerly invited us to the free luncheon for new visitors which happens once a month. If this is your style! I would highly recommend going to this church. They showed a love for humans, I wish more churches had. God calls us to churches for different reasons. I heard once said "if you find the perfect church, don't attend, you might just ruin it." Find the right fit for your family's needs to grow in God.

Most sat more towards the back which i found odd (normal in most churches but because of its size I didn't feel like it mattered). There was one piano player and one organ player. There was one singer and he had a great voice. He sang a solo somewhere in the service. This church prayed often and the pastor called on a few older gentlemen to do a prayer who were seated in the congregation. They felt sincere. I enjoyed it. He gave a powerful message on How it is to be saved. How to be saved and what that means. It was moving and he clearly had a lot of passion for the topic. He had an alter call at the end and a call to action. No one went up. They were having a pot luck the next day and that night the kids camp was going to show all the congregation what they learned while at camp. I went alone to the service that day, I don't know about their kids church but I did find out that they have awana during the non-summer months and that about 25 kids are involved. If this sounds like your church, please try it out. I don't give 5 stars because every church has room for improvement and the 4 stars are because God calls us to each their own church. My old pastor once said. "if you find the perfect church, don't go to it, cause you will probably ruin it." Personal note: Out of the 5 churches that I have tried, I will try this church again. Although I am not sure if the small a number who attend or their age range will fit our family's needs, I can't help but go where God maybe tugging at me to go to. That pastor is ready and wanting to lead more people and his passion to share that message made me think about it for weeks after. I'll let you know now visit #2 goes.

Church #2: We unfortunately arrived late but three people worked together to get us to the rest of…read morethe congregation. It's a big church. The church had a balcony. The flier said 500 something are members. They had Sunday school for all ages. It was a big room with toys and there were 3 kids to 2 adults. I like those odds. They were playing play dough. They had a full choir with a band. I couldn't see the band because of the shape of the room and where we were seated. I could see some gray haired gentlemen rocken on some guitars and a 14 year old playing the trumpet. The music was nothing I had heard. It might have been hymns redone to something more contemporary. I didn't even know we were singing "Rock of ages" until I looked at the screen. Their are TV screens placed all over the church for any one in a bad spot or hard of sight. The choir did a song for us and player happened after most speakers. The pastor spoke on David and Goliath. He focused on Davids diligence to serve God and how that needs to be our mind set (even in tithing). We need to put ourselves in Gods favor. He was nice and obviously had a good report with his church regulars. Announcements came at the end, along with four or so prayers. If this sounds like your kind of church, check it out. I am giving every Church I review 4 starts. One less star cause every church needs improvement and four because God leads us where we need to go and who I am to judge.
