This is long overdue but I attended a wedding at the Hilton Lac-Leamy and the DJ looked like he…read moredidn't know what he was doing. While everyone was sitting down for the reception, he was playing a wedding video of a DIFFERENT couple for a good 30 minutes (why didn't he check to make sure it was correct?) He didn't know how to properly mix and transition into different songs, he would literally sit there and wait until a song is over and just play the next song. I think the DJ lied about knowing how certain cultural wedding traditions because he agreed to the bride and groom that he knew what a money dance is. But when I asked him he said he didn't know and literally gave me a mic to explain to the audience what it is (WTH?). When they were doing speeches, he didn't know how to adjust the volume of the mics and when they did a slideshow he didn't know how to fix the audio. Guests from the wedding party actually had to teach him how to properly use his equipment.... It worries me that this company has no reviews on their Yelp page, maybe you should change the name to NO Quality Entertainment Services because this is sad.

I recently rented both a cotton candy and a popcorn machine machine from them, and the service was excellent. Mike, the owner, was super quick to get back to me and answer any questions I had. The machines were delivered early and worked great. They even picked them up for me after the event and texted me during the event to make sure everything was okay. They so lighting, sound, and have oh so many things like linens, chairs, plates, glasses, BBQs, chocolate fountain, bars and a million other things. I came here for the Cirque en Blanc event, and found it to be one of the few clubs in Ottawa I…read morecould stand to be in for more than an hour. I'm not sure how the atmosphere differs on a regular night, but for the Cirque en Blanc event, all the staff were dressed in corsets, bustiers, tutus and other "circus" attire. They have circus performers up on the stage at the front of the bar every so often which was fun, but while we were there the crowd didn't seem to be too into it. My favourite thing was the music the DJ played, though again, not sure how regular this is. There was a ton of throwback jams from the early 2000s which I loved. There was a promo drink being served by Russian Vodka that had cotton candy in it, and was fantastic. There are tow bars on the bottom floor, which has the dance floor and a stage. The upstairs housed a second bar, but as it was a roped off VIP section for the event, I didn't see much else. Negatives? Like most bars, the bathrooms were pretty gross, and they're downstairs in the basement, which is never fun. The flight of stairs could totally become a hazard after a few drinks, so watch out. The place is also pretty small, so I could see it getting crammed pretty fast, and as we went on one of the hottest nights of the summer, it was insanely humid. I'd come back here if some other friends wanted to go, but I'd likely head to The Velvet Room before I'd make the choice to come back on my own.

I had emailed him a couple of very detailed documents a week before the wedding. One outlining the schedule of our wedding day and reception, the second includes all the music and genre's i would like him to play...I told him to play everything as long as I hear the ones I listed specifically at some point. We also payed him 1400 to include all lighting and all the extra stuff in the room. Issues: my backdrop lighting was purple when I asked for pink...and I emailed him the picture at least three times, and showed it to him in person once...saying PLEASE make sure it is like that and he promised it would be fine. We tried to set up a time for me to go and double check it a weekend before my wedding but I didnt have the time. The room's lighting being purple i didnt care as much...but my backdrop? It is in ALL of my pictures it makes me sooo sad. Second: He kept on coming up to me and asking me who was speaking next when I already gave him a schedule, its fine he was double checking, but when it was time for the first dance and he came and asked me if i wanted the fog machine when he should have been starting my song....I was fuming! he started the song and THEN he began working on the fog machine! The fog started well into the song and it really lost all it's romantic effect! So sad. Lastly, he didnt play almost any of the songs I wanted until we went and told him at least three times that we want to leave the hall! he then began playing a couple of my requests (which were my dads requests and I wanted them played for him) but he didnt play them till we wanted to leave and we were just standing waiting for him to play that song for leaving. I thought I hired the best DJ in town...he was not prepared and did not deliver. he offered to give me back $200 but he wanted me to come to the west end when I am never there...and at the end when we planned to meet in the east end...I just couldnt get myself to see him because I was so angry and a small $200 wont fix my pictures. and no he wont email transfer or mail the cheque. he should have at least given me all my money back for the lighting! Rediculous.
