That is the sign of a great church and one that I have been a part of for the Lord Jesus Christ and the people who are here are so inviting and welcoming and I have become very good friends with the people here... They don't look at me differently from themselves and that brings me so much comfort and confidence in the Lord and to help others to spread his message of love and acceptance!! I have been taught to embrace people and their differences and I am more likely to run towards the one that is in a wheelchair than the one who is standing on their own two feet... That is because I was born disabled and I have always looked at the world differently and I have never felt accepted by others, until last year.... This church has saved my life more than once and I am forever grateful to them for that.... God bless you all and keep the faith!

I recently switched to Candlewood when my boyfriend proposed to me. My fiancé was committed to serving this church. Since we were engaged, I knew that we would be getting married and would both need the same church home, so I started going to Candlewood with him and felt very welcomed. The Candlewood website is absolutely amazing (my now husband is on the website development team for the church) http://www.candlewoodchurch.org/. He also plays the drums in one of the worship bands. I love watching him play Sunday morning and seeing his heart for God and the joy he has while serving. We then started premarital counseling with the pastor and his wife. It was a great time to get to know them since I was still pretty new to the church, and for them to get to know us better. Through marriage counseling, we didn't experience any surprises or things we didn't know about each other. Going through it was helpful because it reassured my fiancé and I that we were really meant to be. Some of the topics were, the meaning of marriage, in-laws, emotional temperament, children, finances, etc. In that time, we also joined a couples lifegroup, which is just a group of 5-8 couples who get together every other week outside of church. We have done numerous things with our lifegroup: bible study, BBQ, movie nights, Polish Festival, CWS, outreaching events, etc. In the transition to Candlewood, I have felt very welcomed. I know that this church is a Christ centered church dedicated to serving the Lord and doing His will. They have a solid children's ministry, talented praise bands, pastors who speak truth, friendly attendees, and Panera bagels and pastries served with coffee before every church service. I would recommend Candlewood to anyone in the Omaha-Metro area seeking a church home.

I have only attended one service and visited on a couple other occasions because it is the church my wife used to attend. We decided that it would be a great place to get married since it was large enough to accomodate our 300+ people wedding. The facility is beautiful, lots of room, great technology, a sweet grand piano. We were so excited to use the building. The problem started when they assigned us a wedding coordinator who ended up making our lives a nightmare. She wasn't bad at first, she seemed very helpful and willing to work with us to make it our perfect wedding. Trouble started at the rehearsal and didn't end until the wedding was over. She wanted the wedding done how she envisioned it and undermined everything I would say. She wouldn't let us move anything or rearrange the stage at all. We asked for simple things and we were always rejected. My advice, if you choose to get married here, try to get out of being assigned a wedding coordinator. Other than that, the wedding itself was perfect. I got married to the woman I love and at the end of the day, that's all that mattered :)

We haven't attended groups yet, but this is a goal of mine for 2024. Right now they are campaigning for a multi location remodel that will be more welcoming for newcomers. If you are looking for a low key place to worship I highly recommend this location or their other two locations.

I volunteered there on a regular basis. And yet, felt like I was catering to some country club. We were lower income at the time, so perhaps that didn't make the cut. If you like to get your kiddo out of daycare to worship as a family during the last song of service, you'll get an email explaining why that is wrong. If you have a newborn, and for a few weeks have a history of being late (when a baby wants to eat, they gotta eat), then the pastor will make it a point to call everyone out on their tardiness. If you plan on leaving the church, and give the pastor legitimate reasons as to why, he will shun you. Not even bat an eye if you are waiting in line at a grocery store. This isn't a church. It's a cult. Watch out for the members who like to provoke and make it more about themselves than serving God.
