Christ centered sermons and teaching with a friendly, welcoming congregation. There are great programs and classes for the whole family.

I never Yelp but I wanted to tell this story. I was passing through town and wanted to find a…read morenearby place to go to Easter service. This was close and I also recognized lyrics from a screenshot of one service. I'll also note that, while I grew up in church, I have only gone sporadically over the past few years. I came in right before the service was about to start, hesitated a moment, went ahead and bought a coffee, and took it in with me. There was a sign saying "please no food or drink during service", but I'd already bought it, my old church in Seattle had allowed it, and I chose to read it as more of a preference than a strict forbiddance. This was a mistake. When I headed in, the usher said "You can't bring that in here," and I said I'd keep that in mind for next time, walking in to his protest of "ma'am!" Before I got to a seat, though, I ran into another usher who insisted the same. Soon the first usher had come in after me too. You'd think I'd brought in stolen property instead of a beverage. They said it was because of the carpet and they didn't make the rules, it was the pastor. I don't know if that was supposed to give it more authority, but it only made me dislike their pastor before I even saw him. They gave me a coupon for a free drink on my way out. I was tempted not to go back in. Back in the lobby I showed the woman at the coffee bar the free drink coupon and she said they might not have it after service and said she'd save my drink for me. (She initially said service didn't really start for a while because there were songs, implying I could drink it out here during that, but I said that was my favorite part.) She could tell I was upset and mentioned the carpet again. I said something like "Yeah, but what's more important, people or carpet?" After she stuck a post-it note on my coffee I went back in, showing the "empty hands/hands up " gesture to the usher as I went in. I was on the verge of tears and it wasn't because of the music. I was there to worship and reconnect with God for Easter but my heart wasn't right for it. I was angry and hurt over something so silly. I'd rather coffee wasn't available at all than this. Maybe regulars show up early and can lounge in the lobby before service, but I think visitors generally show up right before and want to grab a quick thing right before heading in- how nice to have a coffee and a bite at church, how comfortable!- only to be in for a rude surprise. So now I'm sitting out in the lobby with my latte writing this review instead of being in the congregation. While here the woman from the coffee bar came out and refunded my money, saying she knew I was frustrated. That was kind and right, so thank you to her. By the way, the lobby is also carpeted with the same valuable fibers used in the sanctuary.
