I slowly developed a relationship with this Regions branch as I was cashing my checks (they offer this service to non-account holders). The customer service from the tellers and staff was authentic and they were so gosh durn helpful on each visit. Finally, one of the tellers suggested that I grab some material on their various accounts from an onsite account rep and I took the bait. My personal checking and savings account were set up in less than 15 minutes and I received my new debit card in less than 3 days. I can dig it. A few years back when I participated in the Move Your Money exercise that encouraged me to flee Wells Fargo/Wachovia, I found this gem of an institution and I've been pleased ever since. I like that they allow you to use any ATM and will refund you the ATM fees incurred. Renasant does charge an additional $1.50 for this, but they refund that fee as well with each statement. Seems duplicative, but as long as I get my money back, then that's not really my problem. I also appreciate that they post things to my account in the right order: deposits, then charges. Most of the big-name banks don't do this, which can often result in overdraft fees if the wrong charge clears before a deposit does. Their checking is free, with certain stipulations (like having direct deposit, paying bills online and logging in to their mobile banking site a certain number of times each month). While this bank is perfect for my situation, it may not work for everyone. Their locations are very limited in Middle Tennessee and I was disappointed when they closed their downtown branch. If you have direct deposit, then it's no big deal, but if you have to deposit a paper check (like my partner), then you'll want a local branch. We like this branch on West End and the staff here is always great.

First of all, when I called with a question, I had no trouble getting through to an actual person (Robin), *at this location*, on the phone. No convoluted automated response maze. Just keep pressing zero and you're good to go. Walking in, I'm immediately greeted with a "Hi! Welcome to Wells Fargo, how's your day?" An enthusiastic greeting too, pretty clearly not a "I'll say this because I'm obligated to, but I really can't wait to get out of here..." The tellers are super nice and have always been helpful. Even with tasks that in the past, some other banks have been very confused about completing for me, like exchanging foreign currency. Finally, this location is convenient - right at the corner of Harding & White Bridge, in the shopping center. Particularly if it's time for a trip to Target...
