The store is very clean, always well stocked with a huge selection of quality beers priced competively, along with all the other things one would need last minute...open 7 days a week. Another plus is that they really care about their customers and make you feel like a regular. They are very willing to add to their inventory, for example on one visit I stopped to peruse the chocolate counter and seeing I just wasn't finding anything to my liking they asked, I told them I liked Big Turks (which for some reason are hard to find), and lo and behold on my next stop they happily pointed out that they had gotten a box, now I don't expect them to be able to stock every one of my whims, but just this little bit of effort was really special and made me a huge fan. So if your in the neighborhood planning on going to one of the many byob's restaurants in the hood, or if you are just moving in, drop by and say hello, pick up some wine or brewskeys and you too will become a fan, just please don't buy the last Big Turk as I have dibbs!

After paying for my stuff i had to wait inside for my uber to arrive (5 minutes) which is pretty legitimate based on the weather outside! 5 minute later, the kid started talking to me and asked me to leave! In other words, he verbally kicked me out pretexting that it was a depaneur and he already let me stay inside 5 minute and if he will let me wait longer if i buy more stuff!" I was extemely shocked and embarassed. I didnt want to make a scene or engage the discussion based on who my interlocutor was cause it was just pointless. I left and waited outside my ride that arrived in the same time! I come to that depaneur often and never had anything negative to say!... but this time...'it s pretty much a red flag! Dear owners, i will highly suggest you get rid of that person cause it s not doing any good to your business beside arming it!

The prices for the other stuff is a bit higher than a normal store, but that's expected, as this place is almost always open, and serves the lazy pips who live close by. The person behind the counter changes, and they don't always speak English. Otherwise, the beer selection in the big cold-room in the back is decent, not the greatest I've ever seen, but no too shabby either. Beer prices are normal for a dep. When I lived on Peel Street as a froshie, I used to trek out to Parc and Prince-Arthur, bypassing several more convenient establishments, in order to give these guys my money. Since becoming better-traveled in the region, I've realized that comparable, and even better, pricing can be found in other convenience stores once you leave the downtown core, but Super Dep will always have a special place in my heart (and liver), and I'm certainly not the only person in the area who will say that.

It's not bland at all but it's not intense either, it's just very simple and probably due to the low price and the clientel. I wouldn't mind purchasing an order ahead of time and seeing what this lady can do because I get the feeling that she can do a lot more. Most actual restaurants in the entire Montreal island don't do as well as her, so I'm curious. I live really far away, so it would take careful planning if i'm going to drop by just for the food lol. so far, when it comes to her cooked foods, I've tried her: - fried noodles with an egg ontop - fried rice with an egg ontop - fried sausages, which were really sinfully juicy because I think they were pan fried and not grilled. Normally I don't like sausages because they're usually bone dry, but these ones were great, eventhough they were more on the greasy side. Her fried noodles and rice are actually pretty good! Of course they weren't brimming with intense flavour, but at least they were not bland and quite enjoyable. The fried egg ontop was actually pleasant because of it's texture and melting yolks. It's still summer now, so I wonder if she does anything special, or has some kind of a website or something so we can plan. I admit, at first I thought it was odd to see a depaneur serve cooked food lol But this lady is doing something good, because I realized that often when I step into a depaneur for a quick snack, I end up with getting processed junk food, so I'd much rather seeing what's fresh on the menu to keep me going until I get home, I don't even need to eat when I do because her food is quite filling. One thing I've always remarked was how tired she always seems, yes when I see her, it's normally very late, so I figured that was why. But then one night I witnessed her being robbed of beer by one of the usual street panhandlers that hang out near metros. I felt SO bad x,x I've never liked panhandlers, but now I outright hate them. They should be illegal. I feel like calling the police everytime I see one loitering anywhere. I know they won't do anything right away, but I'm sure that eventually they will get fed up of the calls and do something about it in the areas that get the most complaints.
