BUYER BEWARE! I'm not alone with this problem, as you can read from other reviews. I order 1/2 cord of eucalyptus with stacking. After Kyle finished I mentioned to him that I think he shorted me. I have 2 four foot racks with one side 36 inches inches high, and the other 40 inches. Neither rack reached the top of the sides. Kyle's response was he loaded a 1/2 cord and that's what you got. The next day I measured each stack and sent the photos to Kyle. His response was, I will drop off 30 pieces of wood on your driveway, but I will never stack your wood again. He also stated that I'm the only customer to watch him stack, which he indicated was weird. My response was, what's wrong with someone watching you stack, unless you are going to deceive the customer. So buyer beware, because you may not get what you paid for. read more

Been ordering from the Firewood Guys for about 5-6 years now. Good communication (via txt primarily - which I prefer), and delivery is on time and product delivered is as expected. First time ordering pizza oven wood - 1/4 chord of red/white oak. Wood quality was good and consistent. About 1/5 of the stack was longer than 18" , but still very usable - no complaints. read more

I rarely leave a negative review, but this one is a bit unbelievable. I placed my order through PayPal and the telephone that came up on the order was incorrect. PayPal allows you more than one number. The number that came up is not my contact number. They called me and I tried to explain, but the guy kept talking over me and he wouldn't change the number. After his rambling he hung up. I wouldn't have thought it would be that difficult to just change the number on the order. Everything else was correct. After he hung up he sent this. At the end of this I think he's insinuating I'm doing something shady. Great customer service. Just for your information I have plenty of people who place orders with PayPal with the correct phone number to be contacted at. So whether or not you have two phone numbers listed with PayPal if you could only be contacted at one of them, you should delete the other number. . . . . . . . . . I don't know why that's so hard to understand but I keep repeating myself over and over. Why would you spend the time to tell me that you could only be contacted at this number because PayPal has a different phone number for you where you can't be reached? To limit the confusion would be a lot easier for you to only have one phone number listed with PayPal that you can be reached at for deliveries or any questions that you may have. . . . . . . . . I placed an order on Oct. 11th with a stated delivery time of 0-5 days. I was contacted on Oct. 14th and told that the earliest delivery date would be Saturday the 18th which was beyond the 0-5 day window. I asked the owner to cancel the order since I would not be home to receive the wood. He cancelled the order but charged me $63 even though he was in breach of contract by not being able to deliver the wood in the promised time. We're camping at Leo Carrillo campground. We'll be here a week. The bundles of wood at the camp store are really small this year. Found the Firewood Guys, easy to schedule via email and text. Wood is a good mix and includes some Oak if you don't want to keep tending your campfire. Only downside, and I blame Calif. State Parks for this, is that they won't allow firewood delivery inside the park. I met them 5 min away, loaded up, and I have my wood for the week at a very reasonable price. read more

I ordered several half cords from this company. The first few were fine. The last one I ordered was notably 'light' in terms of volume (about 20-25%). I measured the stacked wood meticulously. Not a huge problem, as I assumed it was an overnight that could be corrected. But when I contacted the company regarding the less-than-full shipment, I got an earful about how busy they were and how they don't have time to deal with customers 'complaining'... Needless to say, I place my orders elsewhere now. read more

I ordered a full cord of wood for 450.00 delivered. They showed up after dark and dropped the firewood. I paid them and tipped 20.00 . I covered it due to rain in the forecast. I stacked it the next weekend and it was 7 ft long and 4 ft high short of the cord they promised. That is about a 1/2 a cord I received .I have called, texted and emailed them more than a dozen times with no response at all. Buyers beware they are a rob!!! read more

I have tried three years to get a 1/2 cord of oak firewood delivered with no luck trying to keep business local. I guess they are too busy delivering to LA and other places to have time to run down the road. It shouldn't take weeks to get and can't get a price and extras quoted. This was the last time. It's easy to find other people that want and need the business, so I wouldn't use these people unless you were desperate. I guess a 1/2 a cord a year is not enough for local town service. Buyer beware!!!! Do not buy wood from this place. I ordered a full cord of oak with NO limbs, spilt wood only which of course costs more money. Not only did I receive over 70 pieces of limbs, I didn't even get a full cord of wood! The wood was delivered at 8:30pm, it was dark and since I had specifically asked him if the cord would be all split and he responded yes, I didn't think to check. After the shipment of wood was dropped off, I went out to take another look and I realized the cord included limbs. I called right away. He told me that there was nothing that they could do and the manager would be in on Monday. I have called and left messages 3 times a day for 3 days, emails and text messages as well to rectify this problem. I have yet to receive any response from anyone at this company. Unfortunately I paid cash, my fault. A simple phone call back probably would have made everyone happy. I will definitely never use these guys again! read more

Ordered a cord of oak. A couple of delays on Kyle's end due to a trailer issue, not a big deal. Great communications and effort to deliver the wood. After dumping in driveway, I asked for a receipt and was told he would email me one. I stacked the cord and it measured out to 108 cubic feet. Multiple calls, texts, and emails. No response. No receipt. Purchase from these guys if you do not care about actually receiving the quantity of wood you paid for. This shortage equals about $80. read more

Great company... great price! They cut it, split it , deliver and stack it and can't be easier. Nice oak , good mix of sizes, generous 1/2 cord too. All the wood was cut to where it will fit my fireplace, nice and dry/ seasoned, all oak. They accommodated my schedule and my wanting to beat the rain that's on it's way tomorrow!... He stacked it in the wood rack in 10 minutes! I really don't know what could be better. If you need a certain delivery they try to accommodate, the schedule fills first call, first served so have alternates or call early. if they can the fit you in they will......
