The service provisions have remained unchanged since I last visited. As many people know, it's a vast inconvenience anytime you step outside our busy days for an unplanned repair like a flat tire. Further complicating the issue is being told by the repair facility that we only had one technician show up for work today, and the repair of your tire will take all day before it is completed. With clients waiting on me, that was not an option. I went across the street to the competition and replaced the tire within an hour of arriving. Now that I know the competitors, except for the maintenance program that I have, there is no need for me to return to this location. Problem solved. read more

One star is too high -- military families stay away. I recently purchased two new tires from Firestone for about $419. Just 4 days later, one of the brand new tires failed on the interstate and flew off of my car- and I brought my vehicle back in to this location, (being 40 minutes away from Saint Mary's when it happened), and was told I only have to pay $75 for the tow. I was then quoted $264 by a manager for a tie rod and alignment, and that price was confirmed when I called back. However, when my husband called to pay, thinking that was a reasonable price, he was quoted nearly $489 for the exact same service--with no explanation- other than I was "too emotional and too busy at my job to hear the full number" Later that day, I was then told only when I called to see if my car was ready that I suddenly needed a new wheel, adding another $550, which was never discussed or approved beforehand. At no point was I clearly informed of or asked to approve these major price increases. The inconsistent quotes and lack of communication are extremely concerning. It's especially disappointing to be treated this way while supporting a service member who just got stationed down here. Military families rely on honesty and transparency, and this experience did not reflect that. I will be pursuing this further and strongly recommend others to keep looking before giving this place a cent. While the manager was kind to my face, and the original location did call to ask about my safety- I would have liked this rectified, seeing as a brand new tire could have severely injured myself or someone else- and now my car is ruined. read more

However, they kept me waiting for an extra 1-1/2 hours waiting to get an approval to perform extra services. I had my car towed in at 9 am was told that it would take about 2 hours to look at it. I went back 4 hours after my errands and still hadn't looked at it yet and wasn't even aware that it was even there.finally got it back around 4 pm.ladies this is not a good place for us. Unless you are driving a brand new expensive car where the maniac thinks there's gonna be a good tip. Once the work was finally finished it was good. I made an appointment a few days beforehand and was told it's easier to just drop the vehicle off. I drove up there and to an Uber home. The gentleman that assisted me was very courteous and called me to let me know that my vehicle was ready. The lobby has 4 chairs that don't very comfortable for long periods so I'd recommend making an appointment and dropping off. Overall my experience was very good; I will return to get my tires rotated in 5000 miles. read more

Absolute disgrace! Wish I could give ZERO stars! My daughter is a local college student and USAA sent her and her vehicle to this location after it wouldn't start. This location told her she needed a new motor at the price tag of $2000. We thought this was odd as her dad and mechanic grandfather felt it was the starter. Had the car towed back to college and found a mobile mechanic to come out for a second opinion. Surprise, surprise it was the starter!! I truly experienced great customer service at this Firestone. I had a nearly flat tire and was there right when they opened. Mark, the representative I worked with couldn't be kinder and was easy to talk to. I don't think I was there 30 minutes. Turns out that I had 2 nails in the tire. They were able to plug both areas and it barely cost me anything. They never tried to sell me anything, which is very rare these days. Freddy was the guy that actually fixed my tire and worked quickly so that I could get to school where I teach. I will definitely use them again in the future. read more

Came in first thing on a Sunday morning with a flat tire (without an appt). They worked me in, between scheduled appts. Everyone was delightful. They had great personalities. They were energized, hard working and worked quickly. Great interaction between the workers, great camaraderie. I will definitely be back for other car maintenance and repairs. This place is a rip off! I've waited 4 hours for an oil change to find out, it was never done! I drove off with the impression that everything was okay until my oil light turned on. I thought eventually it will go away but I was wrong! Then I noticed there was no sticker on my window to confirm my next oil change. Of course my old sticker was removed, just never replaced. This happened the Wednesday before Thanksgiving so I've waited until next working day (Friday) to head back to firestone. They asked if I could wait another 3-4 hours. It was ridiculous! I went to this location for a set of tires. Made an appointment over the phone to be told when I arrived at my appointment time that I did not have an appointment, neither did they have the tires. Next day I made an appointment online for a set of tires at this same location because they are convenient to my work and home location. The entire front staff were in the back lounge talking loud using profanities while customers waited. They did not come out of the lounge until I looked in the door. The same person that told me that I had no appointment the previous day, told me the same today and that they did not have the tires I requested. I did request the tires for the Sunday before and because of a home emergency I could not make that appointment. All this to say I don't believe I have ever experienced such mediocre, in professional customer care and inconsiderate service in my life. I felt like I was bothering the guy because I wanted to purchase a set of tires! Isn't that what FIRESTONE is in the business for...selling tires? I drove to another location on Blanding Blvd who treated me with care and concern. Some of those guys that work the day shift on the weekday at the Normandy Blvd location NEED BETTER MANAGEMENT AS WELL AS CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS TRAINING. I have been going to Firestone for over 5 years to service all the vehicles in my household. Unfortunately the Normandy branch lacks any kind of customer service skills. The manager who they most have recently promoted from head wrench is clueless. I arrived at 1:40pm for rotation and oil change, was told wait time would be 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hrs. Returned 3 1/2 hours later and my car was in same spot i parked. There were 3 bays empty when i arrived. They evidently forgot my car was there. To busy listening to the blaring music that was playing. Go anywhere else but here. Downright terrible experience. Will be calling corporate office tomorrow. Bunch of ignoramus personnel. read more

A few years ago my husband bought a Lifetime Wheel Alignment from a Firestone in Brooklyn, NY, which entitles us to free wheel alignments on our car whenever the heck we feel like it, for free, at any Firestone location. This means they have a huge incentive to upsell us on needless work because, guess what, otherwise I'm walking out without paying a dime. So I drive down to JAX last winter and let me tell you, there's nothing like a nice long drive down I-95 to let you know when you just might need an alignment. I decide to pop into the closest Firestone and not only am I treated like an A-list customer with my no-money alignment, they even rotated my tires for free! I paid them another visit when I was in JAX last month and again I get excellent service, including refilling the air on my tires. I kept forgetting one of my tires was a little underfilled, and tire pressure should be even for the most accurate alignment. I doubt most shops take the time to check, or at the very least they try to charge you for the air. Heck, the last time I went to the Firestone in Brooklyn for an alignment the TPMS light went on as soon as I turned the key, and that doesn't happen unless the tires are underfilled by at least 5 psi. Anyway, these guys do a great job, they don't try to upsell you, the service advisors (Kelsey and a gentleman with blond/light brown hair) are really nice, it's a convenient location and a pleasant lobby. I still didn't receive a call by 4:45 so I called them and Politely asked if they have started on my car and they said they have not gotten to it and would give us a call back if they couldn't the guy on the phone was very rude, I said yes sir I was just calling to check because I seen y'all close at 5. An hour passed by, I ask for an update to be told that the caliper was never ordered and they are now waiting for it to be delivered. AFTER an hour has already passed. A few months ago I took my drums from my jeep to have them measured to see how much they have been worn down. For those of us that know how to measure this, you use a micrometer, due to the fact this is gives you a precise measurement. What did the guy come out with?? A tape measure! REALLY!!! I asked him if that is the way they measure wear and he said yes. Needless to say, I walked out and bought a micrometer later that day and did it myself. Not very impressed. I had to stop here one Saturday after running over a nail and being turned down by another auto shop. I'm not from Jacksonville but didn't want to attempt to drive closer to home being unsure of how well my tire would hold up. I walked into Firestone and was immediately greeted by Shane, who was so pleasant and willing to help. He had me in and out with a brand new tire very quickly and made my experience a very positive one. One night, after they had closed, my low tire light came on and I was looking for a place to either add air, or have the air at least checked. I was pretty far from home and also was initially headed to an event which was probably not going to happen unless I could find help. I saw the doors to the bays open and lights on, even though the business was closed. I pulled in and asked for assistance. One of the men working after hours came out and checked the air in all four tires and added the needed air in one. He would take nothing but a grateful thank you for his kindness. I went to this Firestone about 6 weeks ago and asked them to check my engine that was overheating about once a week and my ac that was barely cooling. They diagnosed my car as having a blown head gasket that was blowing hot air onto the a/c line and recommended I get a new car. They said it wasn't worth replacing the head gasket on a car with 160,000 miles on it. So I took it to a back yard mechanic who's a friend-of-a-friend. He pulled the radiator cap off and found that the rubber seal in the cap had corroded and wasn't sealing properly. He replaced the radiator cap and it hasn't overheated or lost any coolant in 6 weeks. The a/c had a slight leak and needed refrigerant according to Miller's Automotive in Orange Park. It's been cooling fine ever since. I can't recommend staying away from this place enough. read more

Very disappointed in their service. They performed an alignment on my car and did not do it properly. Another mechanic found their error which caused hundreds of dollars of damage underneath my car. I took it back to them for an inspection, and they said they see the problem but would not take responsibility. Be careful taking your vehicle there. Very sloppy work ethic.
