The lady at the front, Cathy, is RUDE. I dropped my car off to have a tire patched at 7:45 am. I was supposed to pick it up at 5. I get there at 4:45 and my car hasn't been moved since this morning. I was told that I'm early. Car still hasn't been moved at 5:15. Also, Cathy argued with a customer until the lady left. Customer service is not #1 here. Update: my car got taken back at 5:30. The tire couldn't be patched so they needed to replace it. The replacement tire isn't in store so they had to go pick it up from another store. The lady who I assume is the manager has been very apologetic and even discount my tire. Raising the rating from a 1 to a 3. It's 6:35 and I still haven't gotten my car back fixed. read more

Every step of our experience with Firestone was a nightmare. My wife and I were quoted a price of about 1,600 dollars for a repair and told that her car would be ready in less than 24 hours. That time came and went and we received no notice that the car was ready or told that there was a delay. We called back and were told that the part we needed was out of stock and that we would need to wait another week and a half for the part. It's already irritating enough to learn that, but it's even more frustrating to have to inquire yourself about the issue. They allowed us to take the car and drive it carefully while we waited for the part, which we did. We paid about $1,300 for the repairs made at the time. No issues there. My wife was then told that there would be a "slight" up charge on the part remaining. Now, I'm not sure what a "slight" up charge means to the people at Firestone, but when we were finally quoted the price for the part, over 9 days later, the price had more than doubled to over $650 from the originally quoted of about $300. You would believe that due to the massive inconvenience sprung on us every step of the way, that some semblance of customer service would be shown, such as a discount on the part or services. This was not the case whatsoever and I was told that nothing could be done about the price. Finally on the day of service, which was today, we brought in the vehicle at 9:30. We were told that it would take between and hour and an hour and a half to service. Come 1 p.m., no call or notice of delay. So, once again, we had to make another call to inquire about how long the service would take. We were fed another nonsense timing of 45 minutes and we were finally able to retrieve the car and pay the absurd up charge at 3:45 p.m., around 5 hours later than told initially. This was just one final kick on the way out the door with Firestone. Each step of this process was handled poorly. In the end, we waited over 10 extra days and spent a significant amount more than we were quoted. In exchange for that time and extra money, we were given well below industry standard service. When running a business, transparency and accuracy are vital. It is clear that this was not relayed to the people working at Firestone. When quoting, estimating times of service or anything else, it is critical to treat your customers with the dignity and respect to give them accurate information. If that falls through, it is even more important to be up front and forthcoming of your mistakes and miscalculations. It should never fall on the customer to inquire about the shortcomings of your service. That is the mark of poor service. No values of quality and respect were taken into account at Firestone. The slogan on the exterior of the building which reads "Fixed Right, Priced Right, Right on Time," is more of a punchline to a bad joke rather than a motto of quality assurance. I would urge you to look elsewhere in Hattiesburg for your car repair needs. read more

I had an appointment to drop my truck off at 8:30 am Saturday to get new tires put on. Tires were delivered to the shop on Monday afternoon. Appointment was made through a third party website, so I called to very the tires were there and appointment time and date. Everything is setup; so I thought. My wife drops off the truck at 8:20 am. I called back at 1:35 pm and my truck still hadn't been in the bay. Was told it would be an hour or two. It is now 7:30 pm and still no call from the shop. To make things even worse, they are now closed. Not even the common decency to call and state they couldn't get to it. I have gone to this location for the last 12 years. After I get my truck tomorrow, never again will I visit this location. My problem isn't that they didn't do the service that they were prepaid to do, but that they didn't even communicate what was going on. What if that was my only vehicle? What if I had other things to do? I guess they don't care about their customers time or vehicle. Very, very disappointed!!! read more

My car would not start and made a grinding noise and so I thought it was the starter. I had it towed to this Firestone. They supposedly ran an engine diagnostic (which cost about $120), and said I needed a new cylinder head and timing belt, and quoted me about $4,900 before tax. I was skeptical, because the car only has 67,000 miles on it, so I had it towed to the Nissan dealership. Nissan explained that an engine diagnostic was not possible, because the drive belt tensioner was frozen, and also said the battery was dead. They replaced the drive belt tensioner and replaced the battery, and it is running good as new. Total WITH TAX was about $800, compared to over $5K with tax at Firestone to replace parts that I did not need. Either someone is incompetent, or they tried to rip me off. read more

I scheduled an appointment for an oil change, brake check, tire rotation, and an overall check-up. Jeff handled my appointment from beginning to end. He was friendly and professional. They discovered a serious problem that I was unaware of, and fixed it promptly and for a reasonable fee. There was a noticeable difference once this problem was addressed. This my third trip to this location and I will be back. I had a fantastic experience and I will recommend them to everyone. Always make an appointment when possible, and if not, be patient. We've been going to Firestone for 30+ years and in the last two or three years the Firestone we go to in Hattisburg on Mayfield Rd. has declined considerably. There is no customer service. The manager there is rude, she's not helpful and she doesn't want to be helpful. She might improve with a little customer service training but I'm not to hopeful. The lady is on a power trip and I honestly believe she doesn't like men. As a mother of 4 sons I recognize that problem when I see it. Covid hasn't made a difference one way or the other. read more

We were driving from New Orleans to Tennessee and realized we had a tire out of balance...came in at 904am I we were told it would be a quick in and out...then they told us a nail was in our tire thru the sidewall and non repairable... also was doing a courtesy check which we did not need. Husband looked at nail and it was in center of tire not sidewall... when they completed the work we had to have them find the valve cover... at the end of 2 hours they ended up comping it all including the new tire they had us purchase when we could have just patched the tire... that is the only reason I gave an extra star... they did try to make it right... but may be a long time before we go back to a firestone read more

I have several complaints about this place, but I think only one really merits a review. I had my truck towed to this location at 5:30 p.m. yesterday. It would not start. The tow truck driver said it sounds like the starter isn't working. Ironically, he and I both were surprised because he noted that it looks like a brand new starter. Guess what? It was! The starter was replaced at this location in August, eight months ago. I was told they couldn't look at it because they closed at 6 p.m., but would do so in the morning. I waited until about noon to call today and Cathy answered the phone. She said they hadn't gotten to it yet because I have appointments in front of me. Fine. It's Friday and that's my only vehicle, so now I'm concerned about timing so that I can arrange a ride and plan my day (or weekend). I asked her if she knew when they would get to it (mind you, this is only to see what's wrong, not to fix it). She says before 6 p.m. That's a 6-hour window, so then I start to fish for a little more information. Long review short, Cathy was not happy with my questions, asked me to be quiet so she could talk and a shouting match ensued. I asked to speak to the manager because I'm no longer upset about the ambiguity of her response about time, but her complete lack of professionalism. Well it seems that Cathy IS a manager! I was so upset I was in tears with this woman. I called the Corporate Office and hopefully something is at least said. I'm sure it's a lost cause, but something has to be done about that customer service, if you want to even call it that. In the meantime, it's 4 p.m. Friday and I'm still without a vehicle and in a quandary because I never want to step foot back into the place again if Cathy is indicative of the service there. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I absolutely would. My family and I arrived at 7:50 am this morning. All that was needed for the vehicle was for the wheels to be balanced. We specifically said ONLY a tire balance. Our vehicle has 2 different size tires, with the larger tires in being in the back. Exactly 3 hours and 48 minutes passed before they finally told us we were good to go. They balanced the tires AND rotated them, which we did not ask them to do. This car can't have the tires rotated because of the different sizes, so it created various issues within the car's system. If all they had done was what we asked, we would've been able to get out of there before 10 am. I pray for anyone who thinks about going here for anything. Watch a YouTube video. I went in for a 20 dollar patch dropped my tire off at 1 in the evening saying we can have it done for you by tomorrow which was okay with me. I then get a call at 4:52 saying that I need a whole new tire that they can't do the patch they promised me nearly 4 hours earlier so I then of course ask if I can just come get it for I only live ten minutes away and he tells me twice he is not going to stay even two minutes after close to let me pick up my tire. Carried our car in because of random loss of water making the car almost overheat. Firestone did their test and said the coolant intake was leaking and it would be about $225 and since I was out of town told my wife ok. She calls back a couple hours later and said it would be $450 to $500 so i called and the service mgr was at lunch but the thermostat was "going bad" and replacing that. I asked how did they know it was going to be bad so they revised their statement and said the housing was cracked and replacing that too. I said ok but save me the housing please. I started coming home early to surprise them but my wife told them i was coming so she didn't need to be picked up. When i got there the diagnostic, coolant, coolant intake, and that labor free because of a STORE PROMOTION COUPON making my bill $315 for thermostat work but they couldn't find the old housing. Terrible lie but it wasn't worth a stroke. 3 weeks later with the same water loss and problems i went back with the knowledge [Goodyear/Napa] that the intake wasn't replaced and that they would stand by their work. They had no problem re-doing the intake but i would have to pay since the store promotion coupons had ended and surely i didn't think they should lose on the deal. My experience with Firestone was extremely disappointing. I ran over a nail and needed to have my tire fixed, and when I let them know, they were very pleasant and told me they would take care of it, and to have a seat. I then proceeded to wait in their lobby, with my 10 month old daughter, for over an hour. I was perfectly fine with that, as I assumed they were fixing the problem. However, after waiting over an hour, they called me to the desk, only to tell me that they could not fix it, and it would need to be replaced, for $114 plus tax. I was in disbelief. I had waited for over an hour for someone to look at my tire and tell me that it could not be fixed - something that could have been done when I got to the shop. At this point, I had a baby who should have been napping, and did NOT stay to have them replace my tire. I completely understand being busy - I've been working in retail most of my adult life. But I also understand good customer service. Someone should have let me know initially that it would take quite some time to even review my situation, and I could have decided whether to stay or come back later. They should never have let me sit there for over an hour with zero communication. I decided to take my business to Bill's Discount Wheel and Tire, here in town, and had FANTASTIC customer service. He looked at my tire and it took him about 30 seconds to tell me that he could fix it. It took him less than a half hour to fix the tire and put it back on my car, and it cost me $12.00! So thankful for Bill's and his honesty. In the end, I'm glad the customer service at Firestone was so poor, as otherwise I probably would have agreed to have them replace my tire and would have been out $100, unnecessarily. read more

These guys are liars and cheats. Do not take your car here; they will "fix" things that aren't broken. My daughter-in-law took her car by for an oil change and fluid check before she took her car on the road, because she lives a couple blocks away. They called and told her that her car needed all this work, including her brakes, which they quoted at $1000 (for the brakes only). She agreed to have them change one belt. They told her it would be $200. When she went to pick up her car, they said it was$400, they'd found more issues. She refused to pay the extra, and they let it go. A week later, she had her brakes done at Phillips. It cost her $130.00. Do not take your car to these crooks! read more

I don't recommend going here unless you like not knowing what's going on. I came into town on Saturday with radiator issues. I asked if they could have it done by Sunday, to which they said probably, but if there was an issue they would definitely have it done on Monday. Saturday evening I called to get an update, and was told they'd have to finish it on Monday, but it would be done then. Monday at noon, I called and was told there was one more car in front of mine. Four hours later, I called back and was told there were now three cars in front of mine and they couldn't promise that it would be done that day. I tried to call back a half an hour before closing, and no one picked up. Tuesday morning, I called at ten and was told my car was currently being worked on and they would call me when it was finished. Three hours later, I called back and was told my car was going to be the next to be worked on. I found a ride to the store only to see my car still sitting in the lot, almost an hour after my last call. I understand when things don't go as you think they're going to go, but the amount of misinformation I was fed was honestly infuriating. Now I've had to take two days off of work, with no fix for my car. read more

Never, never, never again will I buy tires here. I had a low tire and came here to get it fixed. They took about 3 hours and said they fixed it. Also the sensor was replaced backwards so my display told me it was the wrong tire that was low. A couple of days later it was low again. I filled it up with air and brought it back here. I waited for 4 hours (went to lunch) and they had not even gotten to it. I asked to make an appointment for the next day and they couldn't get to me until 3 days later. They did not give me updates on how long it would take or that they were too busy to look at it. I got in my car and left. read more

I have had both good and bad experiences with this place. It's really hard getting in and out of this place I purchase my tires from here and they are always good tires, they honor their free rotation and balance throughout the lifetime of the tires. There was one occasion where my husband's coin change was taken from the door of our car and most recently after getting new tires installed, I had to take my car back bc there was a weird sound coming from my tires. It wasn't any major they were able to fix it and get me on my way. read more

On March 2, 2014 I was travelling through Hattiesburg, MS when my fuel pump failed. I had my truck towed to Firestone Complete Auto Care at 107 Mayfair Rd. As it was almost closing time I had to wait until the next day to get repairs made. When the repairs were complete I was presented with a bill of $811.15. My complaint is that the fuel pump needed to effect repairs is available at retail prices of $129.00 whereas I was charged $482.99 and the complete job took less than 2 hours, I was charged for 3 hours labor. As I was from out of town I didn't have much choice in selecting a facility and as evidenced by the amount of the bill I feel that I was taken advantage of unfairly. I contacted Firestone home office via email concerning the incident but have received no response. In light of my experience I would recommend against this particular facility and probably every Firestone Complete Auto Care location. read more

After years of dealing with Firestone for oil changes, I decided to allow them to give my car an alignment. They offered the once alignment or a lifetime alignment. I opted for the lifetime which made the cost be around $170. After the alignment my car didn't drive right...it shook like crazy when I got over 50 MPH. So after about a couple of weeks (when I got time) I took it back up to Firestone. They checked it and said I needed shocks...back and front which would have cost me around $1800. Of course this sounded nuts to me! So I decided to take it to the dealership that makes my type car. They checked it (the next day) and said they were glad I came in because I could have gotten into an accident (with my toddler son). Firestone had put rods in my tire backward and didn't put all the nuts and bolts back into my tires. So, to get it done the CORRECT way, I had to pay the dealership to REalign my car tires and fix what was done wrong by Firestone. I will NEVER EVER go to Firestone for anything else and wouldn't recommend them. They have lairs for workers. read more
