I needed two new front tires ASAP for an affordable price and my father suggested this specific location. My father is a long time customer here so I decided to give them a try. My father made an appointment for 11:00 am on Sunday and I was surprised since most auto care businesses are closed on Sundays. So they scored brownie points just for being open on Sundays. This location is located next to Sunvalley Mall and a Wells Fargo Branch in Pleasant Hill which was a big plus. When I arrived, I wasn't sure on whether to park right in front of the entrance or in the regular parking lot since it was my first time there. There were a ton of open spaces in the regular lot so I just parked my car there. The Firestone employee greeted me when I walked up to the desk. He was very friendly, helpful and professional. I told him that my shifting gear would lock up and he immediately knew what I was talking about before I could explain further. So not only was he helpful, he was knowledgeable as well. He quoted me $153 for two brand, good quality new tires and that it would be done in less than two hours. Not bad! The waiting area was comfortable. They offer complimentary coffee, magazines, and the flatscreen was on - I didn't miss the Niner game! The bathrooms were clean and it was fairly quiet. If you get hungry or if you need some retail therapy, Sunvalley Mall, BJ's Brewery and Lucille's BBQ is a short walking distance if you enter through JCPenney's. My car was done shortly before 2:00 pm. The employee informed me that they didn't have the tires I wanted in stock, so they replaced my old tires with even better tires for the same price. I wasn't mad at all. He also addressed another problem that my car had as well. I give this place 5 stars for their quality of service, knowledge, cleanliness, professionalism, and convenient location. read more

We brought our Tesla in because we have Firestone tires which provides for lifetime rotation and front end alignment. Not all the Firestone locations are authorized to work on Tesla's, but this location was. We were thrilled when we got there. The place was big, looked safe (as opposed to the Oakland location) and people were very helpful. We decided that this would be our "go to" place from now on. Then everything fell apart. When we came to pick up the car, I started driving on the highway and noticed that the car was pulling to the left. I took it back and they agreed the alignment was wrong. They also asked me if the screen turned black regularly - NO was my response. When I got the car a second time, not only was the alignment off, but there were several warning lights flashing. I asked them about it and they couldn't help so I called Tesla. They remotely evaluated it and said I needed to bring it in for service. Not only was everything off, but Firestone had actually left a rachet in the tire well. Over $300 later I called Firestone to get reimbursed which led to a multi-week saga with the manager Nick promising to take care of it, call me back, etc which only occasionally happened. He kept asking me to come in to get the reimbursement. I don't live near the location and asked why they couldn't do it remotely. After many back and forth, and unreturned phone calls, I finally got him to do it over the phone (which by the way only took less than 10 minutes). The only reason I can give them three stars is because I feel like they do a good job and they've never tried to dupe me. Wait times are horrendous, however, and making an appointment makes no difference to them. An appointment for 2:00 means "first come first served" and you showed up at 2:00. Really, the only reason I come here is for "big" things since I have a firestone credit card that has no interest for 6 months if you pay off your balance. So, when I know that I'm going to have to spend a couple hundred dollars, I'll come here. EDIT 6/11/14 I had to downgrade my rating to two stars. I was finally due for another oil change after my last visit here where I got new tires, a new battery, a new belt, and an oil change amounting to roughly $900 of work. ANYWAY. I didn't want to deal with a long wait just for another oil change, so I went to a place I go often in Martinez that I've never had to wait at and they get it done in 10 minutes. When they got started, they showed me my oil level and that Firestone had overfilled my engine by roughly a quart. I don't know anything about cars, but the gentlemen told me this was not good. They also told me, when they went to drain the oil, that Firestone neglected to put a gasket on the drain to help prevent leaks. How negligent! The only reason I can conceivably give them two stars and ever think of coming back is if I need tires again or another large service, since the credit card gives me time to pay it off without interest. The Good: I had issues with brakes on my girlfriend's Subaru over the weekend and Monday, all my "regular" shops were booked. These guys had availability (I called on Sunday to make sure) and were able to take me first thing in the morning. They were very courteous and didn't try to BS me too much (since I'm fairly technical). Benny made some recommendations and fully meant that they weren't trying to upsell me on any products, just giving me precautions I think the value was good considering the last-minute need and the fact I had to get all 4 brakes replaced. They didn't charge for any extra labor for breaking the bolts off of one wheel that got cross-threaded, since they were going to replace the brakes anyway. The Bad: The brake job took 10 hours. I realize I was in a bit of a pinch and up to their schedule, but as I was checking in throughout the day, it sounded like they were working on it slowly all day. It would be different if they couldn't get to it until the afternoon then banged out all the work in a few hours. They wouldn't use the brake pads I already purchased separately because of some "service warranty" excuse. We're really not planning on keeping this car for more than another year (since it has 220k+ miles) and their brakes were twice what I paid from an auto parts store. Summary: This seems like a reputable full-service shop. It would also be convenient for folks who might be at the mall to wait for work to be done. If you're not close, there's no courtesy transportation. This wouldn't be my first or second choice of shops (since I can typically walk to them), but I'd keep this in my back pocket for future pinches. read more

Absolute worst experience with tires! My leased Toyota Camry XSE came with Bridgestone Turanza tires in 2015 (36000 miles). When I was ready to turn the car in, I was told the tires had no tread at all on them. Having leased 7 cars in the past, I have never even come close to wearing out a set of tires at lease end, so I never really paid attention to them. After being told by Toyota that they had no tread, I took the car to this store to have them replaced and they confirmed the tires had NO tread wear warranty. Really? The tires are standard street tires and cost upward of $250/piece. No warranty? Tires aside, when I stepped into the store, I walked right up to the person behind the desk, who was not busy at all. She immediately popped attitude, very rudely informing me that she would not be able to install anything today, this before she even knew why I was there. I told her what was going on and just wanted to see what the procedure was to get them replaced. She told me she could look them up, but really didn't have time to discuss this with me today. This was the middle of the day on a weekday! Then she told me about the warranty (or lack thereof) and that the tires would be over $1000 to have installed. I then went back to Toyota and explained the issue. I was referred to the Toyota Experience Center line. After telling them the problem, I was told that this is a known problem. Toyota credited me the cost of replacing the tires. Apparently, they've had several complaints about the durability of these pieces of expensive junk! I would never consider the purchase of Firestone/Bridgestone tires again. In the future, if a new car has them on it, I will demand they change the tires out prior to me taking ownership of the vehicle! read more

I JUST bought a Lifetime Alignment service $169.00 (Special Sale - usually ~$220). JORDON IS AWESOME! I came in hoping to get an alignment on a Tuesday afternoon... I guess lots of other people wanted to do the same *sad face here* I was short on time, but really needed to just get it done; I always put it off.... I walked in and Jordon cheerfully greeted me as I grilled him about "actual wait time" versus the time they quoted me on the phone (a different guy). He was SO nice, not only did he get me in/out in less than 1.5 hours WITHOUT an Appointment???? But he also made me aware of the Lifetime Alignment deal (not published). I was ready pay $83.95 this time around, BUT for LESS THAN THE PRICE OF 2 alignments... I now can get an alignment everytime I get an oil change?! Not only is that EXTREMELY CONVENIENT, but it also saves me $$$. Because I have a newer car and my low profile tires don't come cheap, I will now keep up with my alignments and save myself a TON over the next couple of years (as long as I own the car)!!! The technician are so careless that they forget to do a complete check of your car, they either fudge it or forget to record all necessary checkups. After dropping the car off the moment they opened the doors in the morning, we were told that it would be a few hours. When Mind you this was for a only a tire rotation. When we came to pick up the car her attitude was "just talk to my manager" as if she was incapable of anything related to her job. Enterprise would not reimburse me if I had the tire shop down the street from my house repair the flat, so no choice but to go here for the repair. Really wish I didn't have a lifetime alignment from this place. Last time I came here there was an issue with my appointment. Today, I tried to make my appointment online but was having trouble so I called the shop. The gentleman I talked to said that they weren't busy at all and wondered if I would want to come in right away for my alignment and oil change. I made arrangements to leave right away and was at the shop within 10 minutes. However, when I was checking in the gentleman I talk to said that they can't do alignments right now because the machine was not working. WTF?!? I just called. Seriously? I don't know what's going on, but obviously they need to communicate to one another so these type of mistakes don't keep happening. (It was not as if the alignment machine had just broken either- that I could understand.) They mark their parts up 200% or more. I go to the Firestone where I came from to get my car maintained and they Have good people and reliable service. You may think Firestone is too commercialized to get quality care but they provide access to services with no added fees because they honestly care about your safety and know it should be just that simple. For example I pay less than $30 for oil change. I'm not a sucker for those fancy independent shops who think their doing you huge favors. One time they Firestone had to tell me that I'm too early for my oil change. And when they do my oil change they check my battery, agreed to do an auto scan, and perform other point inspections...because they are just kind & know it's for my peace of mind. Angel was down to earth and a young gentleman who warmly welcomed me in the shop. I'm so grateful I still have a place I can go to & trust for my car. My mother and I have been customers of Firestone for 30 years. I remember being a kid and my mom always feeling comfortable taking our vehicles there. Now at 42 years old, this great service is still the same, and most of all they care. I heard a weird clicking sound and when I took it to Firestone they almost immediately let me know (and physically showed me for proof) that the issue in my car was very unsafe and highly encouraged me not to drive. Stevie is AWESOME , she was pretty much running the front by herself, dealing with other customers with attitudes, taking care of her staff, juggling phone calls, etc. Even through all of that she took the time to help me by being kind, caring, and providing the best customer service and price possible. No one is ever happy to take their car to the shop, lol, bc we are usually terrified of what the cost is going to be to fix it. I had my car towed to Firestone Auto Care in Pleasant Hill Cal. and I was told they they would order the parts for my KIA and have it fixed and working in a few days. That was on a Thursday last month. I did not hear from Firestone by the next week, and I could not get anyone to answer the phone, So I went down there to see what was happening with my car and I found it in a service port with a hard rubber trashcan next to it that someone left a rub mark on it. I rubbed out the burn mark with a cloth. When I told the manager, he just stared at me with a I don't know how that happened look on his face, the manager and he said he did not know what was up with my car and would check. I turned my car on and it had not been fixed, So for a week it had just sat there at Firestone. The manager then showed me the work order and it showed that the parts were ordered from Concord KIA that very day a week later. We both had said this was incredible and unacceptable. I tried to take my car home But was unable as it had been seating for a week and not drive-able. So again I waited for Firestone to let me know what was up with my car and I finally got a phone call from the same manager a few days later who told me that they COULD NOT FIX my car as they DID NOT have the appropriate tools to do the job. I could not believe what he was telling me. I was now told that they replaced a high pressure fuel pump and was charged over 1200 dollars for a part that did not fix the problem. He now advised me to drive or tow my car to the Concord KIA dealer for the repair work to be completed. This was the WORST AUTO REPAIR dealing I have ever had in many many years and I still could not understand or believe that this actually happened to me. I will NEVER advise anyone to have any repair work of any kind at this shop ever. This was a complete and total failure by FIRESTONE and it's staff. I could go on But what would be the point. I have been taking my various cars to this shop for years and they seem to do a good job. Recently I had bought a new set of 4 tires and had the rear brakes done along with an alignment. The tires seem to be out of balance, so took them to another shop to rebalance. This did not fix the problem of the out of balance tires and then the car was pulling to the right. Spoke to the manager,John about the issue and he quickly came up with a resolution which I went back to the shop and he took care of the problem. Gave a a verbal quote for a brake repair on our car. We kept checking in asking if we needed to sign anything. They never had us a sign anything but did the work. We came back to pick up the car 8 hour later than the expected time it would take. Then we find out they want to charge double what they had quoted us. That's is crazy. Doubling the quoted price. Not only that but the guy behind the counter was threatening to "loose it on us" and fight us because we questioned the change in pricing. Just a ridiculous experience. Horrible customer service. They don't hear your concerns: careless, stupid, lazy. They are very shallow and could not fix simple thing. They rate themselves on their website 4.1 out of 5 and no one could add any reviews there. Really? Beginning was nice and promising. I was assured that my car will be done by noon and they will call me when it is ready to be picked up. No one called me, so I picked up the phone around 3.30pm. Lady on the phone told me that she left me message; however, I didn't find any message or phone call. When I came and asked if they fixed the issue I had with the car, she got surprised. They didn't even know what it was. I told them about problem I dropped the car. I repeated it a few times describing what the problem was. Apparently, they didn't fix it. They advices me to go to dealership because they don't know how. I went to Volvo and of course it was almost 5pm. Volvo guy looked at the problem and said it will take a few minutes. He run to the shop, but all mechanics done for the day and the guy didn't have the tool. He told me that Firestone should be able to do it because it was very simple. So, I went back, "taught" them how to fix the problem. Of course, they said they don't have time for me anymore and I have to make another appointment. I said to that lady, if she called me on time, I would be done today with the car and don't have to take another day off from work. She kept insisting and arguing that she called me! I suggested that maybe it would be good idea to call again if customer was concern to pick up car ASAP and didn't reply. Do you know what she said? "It's a business and we are busy to call everyone" Was I not part of that business!? Was I not the one who brought them that business? Maybe they should not take so much orders if they can't complete them and call all customers. I was serving 6 cars there that we had in our household. This shop is filled with absolute crooks. They didn't do majority of the work I came in for, and tried to sell me items my car didn't even need. They told me I need a new air filter because it was dirty, brake fluid flush, and coolant flush. I asked them to show me how dirty the air filter is (I just inspected it a week ago and it looked like new), and where in the manufacturer service interval says to flush the coolant and brake fluid at this mileage. They then told me they didn't actually inspect the vehicle. I came in for a vehicle inspection and tire rotation. They did not inspect the vehicle, nor did they rotate the tires. Instead they tried selling me needless parts and services. If someone chooses to work here, their integrity is likely compromised. This shop was charged with fraud in 2016 and it's clear they haven't changed their ways. read more

I had the worse experience with Firestone. I went in to get a simple oil change and a week before I made an appointment. The employees said it would take about 45 minutes. I walked around for about 45 minutes and came back. They told me that they haven't started my oil change yet. The employees were very rude when I asked them when my car would be ready. They just kept saying soon. I ended up waiting over 3 hours for them to even start my oil change on my car and they charged me for a more expensive oil instead of the basic one I asked for. We recently took our truck there to have the brakes redone they then sent us home with leaks and over $800 of new problems, water pump, coolant and fan belt. This is a truck we bought used had checked out by mechanic and had no existing issues whatsoever. Firestone is an endless money pit don't take your car there and less you're feeling rich. Every time we've taken a vehicle there within the last three years it's come home with over $400 worth of "new problems" CONSUMER BEWARE ... looks a lot like the Jiffy Lube scam. read more

I used to love going to this Firestone. They are great with tires. My mistake was that I went there for a air-conditioning Freon add on. They told me that I needed a part? For this to work right so I trusted these guys to do it. To make this long story short they actually screwed my air-conditioning and said that I need to pay over $1000 to get it fixed. Well it is not fixed. Since I have American Express I am fighting them for this negligence. I actually got eight third-party Mechanic who is an expert in air-conditioning and checked my vehicle. He wrote me a letter and told me that it was done completely wrong. My car still has an a/c problem and not fixed. To my honest opinion. These guys are great with tires and that is it. So far they are still have not refunded me for what I have paid. They ruined my vehicle. 1-2016 My brother who went here to check to his van. They told him it will cost $700!!! Told him to have Les Schwab Tires to take a look at it...$173.00. What do guys think? read more
