This was a cool place we always eat at firehouse brewery when we come to South Dakota. I had seen FIREHENGE on Facebook so we had a chance to stop. It is off of I 90 in the town of Kadoka South Dakota. It cost $10:00 a car load but you receive a coupon to get a free T-shirt from Firehouse Brewery in Rapid City. But you can see it from the interstate or the parking lot, but it's more fun to walk around and look at everything. About 24 fire trucks. Doghenge is part of it. It is in the shape of a peace sign so take your dogs it is built for dogs to explore,sniff and socialize. There is a bell to ring on one of the firetrucks for good luck and they also ask you to count the aliens while you were there. We had fun. It was a time to get out and stretch your legs. read more

Hokey roadside stop. It's interesting enough. Admission is $10 per carload. So if you're by yourself, it's a bit much, but they give you a coupon that you can turn in at the brewery in Rapid City and get a free T-shirt. Which I did. So then 10 bucks isn't too bad. Nice place to get out & stretch the legs with our dogs. I believe the just started building it in 2025. The lady that took our $10 (car load) was nice. They have a pot a potty now, some non-alcoholic drinks and some firehouse merchandise. There were 2 men working on the fence around the firetrucks so they would be able to walk in the middle as well as all the way around it. I have mobility problems but was able to walk the dirt part around the exhibit. I can wait to see how long they have come when we are this way again. Oh we were pulling a 30 foot trailer & were able to turn around & park but there was only a couple of cars there when we were there. read more

If you are looking for oddities, this is one more Cadillac Ranch-type site-- only with fire trucks and a smoke jumpers' plane. It is right along westbound I-90 and can be seen from the road. read more
