My husband started by saying, "you had a store at Century 3" and before he could finish his question she interrupted and said "we've never been at Century 3." Just shut him down. He started again to ask about wanting to buy something and she again interrupted him and said again that it wasn't their store he was thinking of. That is why he stopped in, to ask about buying something they used to carry and get some info. She interrupted and didn't ask what we were looking for. She was rude, dismissive, and judgmental. We walked out. What a poor way to sell things. Did we not look like we have the means to shop there? I assure you that we do. I also guarantee we'll never come back.

Pittsburgh Pottery is definitely one of the best shops in Carnegie, and is a must-visit for anyone…read morewho loves Pittsburgh. In their own words, this team strives "to provide locals, expats and newcomer Burgh fans alike with unique, functional and decorative ceramics." I personally own a few things from this shop, and I also keep it in mind as a local shopping option whenever a holiday or birthday is coming up. The items produced and sold here are all fantastic. From Steeler Nation and "nebby" mugs to pierogi magnets, the things that you think of when you think of the Steel City are very likely recognized in ceramic form at Pittsburgh Pottery. Regarding the specific items they sell, I'm particularly fond of their "Worsh" soap dispenser design, which is possibly the perfect combination of practical and Pittsburgh-centric design. The mug collection here is also great, with a variety of sizes as well as a variety of patterns (some of which also come with variations in their color schemes). Bonus points: since the business moved into a bigger storefront in Carnegie in the last couple of years, browsing through their fabulous creations is even more enjoyable. The extra space to walk and admire the store makes for a very relaxing visit, and the large front windows help to illuminate the shop and highlight the gorgeous ceramics. Plus, the new storefront even includes a "sale nook" - a little side room with items that, while still beautiful, have some sort of imperfection that has earned them a discount price. So there you have it, readers: yinz better stop in here soon if you love Pittsburgh! Alternatively, if you're holding off on visiting storefronts for the time being, you can browse their website and find the perfect Steel City trinket there. However you choose to shop, the ceramics made here are all high-quality, eye-catching creations, and you won't be disappointed.

I recently came here with a work group to make a little garden gnome terrarium. The owner was so…read moresweet and knowledgeable and really allowed our entire group to make their terrarium their own. We honestly had a great time. When we got there there was a long table set-up with gloves for people who didn't want to get their hands dirty and all of our terrarium supplies. The owner had a demo for us to look at but we all took the terrarium and and made it our own. No one had to fight for plants or decorations because the owner had enough out for everyone. She talked to us to tell us a little bit about the plants but also allowed us time to bond as a group. It was a great way to spend a Friday with coworkers. When one of my co-workers mentioned something about trying to make tea pot terrariums the owner said that she would order some plants and we could come in and bring our teapots and tea mugs and make them right in the shop. This type of customer service cannot be beat. I really did enjoy my time at one happy flower shop. If anyone is looking for flowers or a co-worker activity this is the place to go. The time past fast, the owner was magnificent, and in the end you got to go home with your own creation. This was really a great experience. I encourage anyone who's interested or is looking for something different to head to one happy flower shop and see what they have to offer.

It turns out, I had absolutely nothing to worry about! The flowers were delivered to my daughter with no problems, and she was so happy with them. She later sent me a photo, and I was just as pleased. They were beautiful! Thank you, The Curly Willow, for coming through for us on such a special occasion.
