I am excited to be here at Mustard's Chicago Style Eatery in Los Alamitos off of Katella Ave…read more Menu here is awesome for the dog lovers in all of us too many to choose from! Sorry didn't take photo of menu you gotta come here! I ordered the Windy City chili dog cause I love chili dogs and I got the Classic steam Chicago dog the best seller here without peppers though! Classic steam dog with the skin on is awesomely good! Love this one! Chili dog with the skin on is crunchy love that chili is good but kind of thick. Overall I love the food the dogs you gotta come try! My number was called right after I ordered my food maybe five minutes pretty fast huh! Thumbs high on Mustards Chicago Style Eatery!

Now mind you that's over the Brazilian Steak House and Wood Ranch I had offered. We hadn't been to Mustards in (shut) 15 years? I was worried the quality was still there. I was! And boy did they grow up. They've blown out the menu the inclusion plethora of item other than hot dogs! The BBQ ribs I had were more than acceptable. Not Wood Ranch or Sweet Lou's but enjoyable! My son said his Chicago Dogs were still second to none and my wife got a hamburger that she claims was 'OK', and my daughter in law got a chicken sandwich she really liked. So overall it was a success. You can't rate the service because there is none. You order at a window, pick it up when ready from said window, and clean up after yourself ... unless you're a jerk. I do recommend them still. New owners clearly (apparently Asian) but the were very sweet and friendly. Lots of smiles.

We had a large breakfast party and our food did not come out all together, with was a bummer!…read moreFood was very good! Hot food was hot, as it should be. The salsas are delicious! Service was great! I am a cinnamon roll lover, and I loved their warm glazed cinnamon roll. It is large and took it home to eat over the next couple days. I think I'd rather have had the sourdough toast. It looked good.

We drove 40 minutes specifically because of an Instagram post by @laoc.eats featuring a prime rib…read morethat looked incredible. Upon arrival, we were informed that the prime rib was only available during Father's Day weekend. It would have been nice if that little detail had been mentioned in the post that inspired the trip. Since we were already there and starving, we decided to stay. Mistake #1. The medium rare top sirloin arrived looking like it had lost a fight with a blowtorch. It was so overcooked and rubbery that we couldn't finish it. We brought the leftovers home thinking at least our dog would enjoy it. She sniffed it and walked away. For anyone who has ever owned a dog, you understand how impressive that is. The meatloaf somehow managed to transport me back to my hospital room after my appendectomy. If you've ever wondered what institutional cafeteria food tastes like with a side of disappointment, order the meatloaf. The coleslaw appeared to be made from aging cabbage with visible brown and pink bruising throughout. To save myself a trip to urgent care, I passed on trying it. The mashed potatoes were the only thing that showed signs of life, but the gravy was so salty it could probably preserve a mummy and contained the dried skin that forms when gravy sits out too long. Even the lemon slices in our water glasses were slimy. The atmosphere felt less like a destination restaurant and more like the dining room of an assisted living facility. The average age of the patrons appeared to be somewhere around 78, which honestly started making sense once the food arrived. The hostess was very nice and our waitress was pleasant, but she seemed just as confused as we were about what was actually available on the menu. We left hungry, annoyed, and wondering how many other people had made the same pilgrimage after seeing that Instagram post. At this point, I have to question whether @laoc.eats actually eats at the places being promoted or just photographs them. This was our second disappointing restaurant recommendation from that account, and it may be the last time we use it as a dining guide. Forty minutes there. Forty minutes back. One edible side dish. I should have just stayed home and made a sandwich.
