We have been to Fiore on Clayton road in Concord a few times, before Covid-19 for a sit down dinner, take out during tht Covid-19. On Saturday the 14th of August we decided to go and have a sit down dinner. Called and made a reservation. We got a table, and we were the only table with no table cloth, silverware was wrapped in paper napkin. No cloth napkin. All other tables had white cloth table cloth, cloth napkins. When we asked, the reason given was - can't get round cloth table cloth !! And for napkins, we should have asked for !! Please go to website - you will find a hundred merchants who sell round cloth table cloth coverings. And don't use cheap paper napkins for a sit down dinner. It is gross !! read more

I've been in the know about Fiore's (and chef Habib's magic in the kitchen) since they opened. This place is that rare combo of atmosphere, service and never-boring or expected cuisine. They get to know you fast-you'll become like family, they'll go the extra mile for anyone. One night years ago, my husband and I popped in while waiting for our daughter's event at Clayton valley charter to end. We were just going to wait it out at the bar with that yummy olive dip and a glass of wine. It was late. They made us a table in the front window with candles and really made our night unforgettable. This family-run place has the charm, vibe, service and flavor you'd never expect from a concord strip mall. This is a nice place to go to when you want something a little more delicate and rich (in my opinion anyways). My grandmother loves this place so it's nice to come here with her and enjoy good food. Bruschetta trio is amazing Mista (misto?..I forget) salad is a great starter salad that isn't huge like most places so it won't fill you up before you eat your dinner Anything with gnocchi is a win with me Tonight I tried their fettuccine Alfredo and it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was the chicken..it was a little dry. But I'm also not a huge fan of chicken anyways and I knew I should have told the waiter to omit the meat from my dish but I thought id try it. Besides that, I ate all my pasta and it was really good. I definitely think this is a must try place! The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is nice. My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and Fiore did not disappoint! We ordered Caprese, Braised Short Ribs and Marchigiana Granchio. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. We did not feel rushed and really enjoyed our experience. A small intimate restaurant. Nice ambiance, very friendly staff and very knowledgeable of their menu. Went on a Tuesday night for dinner with friends, there was one other couple finishing their dinner (7pm), we were the only other table for the rest of that evening. The food was very good, I had the veal. The bread was fresh and tasty the butter was soft. We had a very good experience. The reason I give it a 3 star not 4 is because of the fruit flies. There were quite a few that were around our take and in our faces the whole time. Rather annoying and should not be that hard to take care of this situation. Went for Valentines day, had a reservation. Got there a little early and there was a line out the door and no one knew if that was for reservations or not. Finally found a staff person to ask. Had to wait a half hour until we got seated. We both were starving and thought at least we'll get some bread while we wait. Instead of the normal crusty bread they have, that everyone else got, we got hawaiian rolls. I asked and they said they were out of bread. Ok. The menu was prefix for Valentines so we made our choices then had to wait another half hour for our food. The food itself was all great. I had the pork and my wife the salmon. When it got to our desserts they apologized again that they had ran out of the desserts too. So overall seems terribly planned. Sat at the bar for about 45 minutes until we got seated. I was a little disappointed with the appetizer that we ordered. The Italian mezze. It didn't have like 3 things it was supposed to have. We had to ask where they were. No big deal. Not something I would normally order anyway, but my date did. My dinner we absolutely amazing!! I had the Gamberi Fiore dinner. Inside or outside seating. Last time I was there I enjoyed the warm sunset on the patio with Gnocchi and wine. It's relaxing. When we explained their website indicated they were open later they apologized but said they had closed early because business was slow. As we sat outside figuring out where to go next they came out and agreed to serve us. Apparently, they had sent the chef home and were able to get him to return. Once we were seated the service was great and attentive. We all ordered different plates. Nothing was bad! Although I appreciate the accommodation, there wasn't anything we ate that made me want to return. As far as appetizers go I would skip the salads. They were all bland. In my opinion the highlight was the Ravioli, I really enjoyed the sauce! For dessert we enjoyed the tiramisu, nothing special but solid. Sidebar: I ordered an Italian Soda and it was bland. It is seriously mind boggling to me that this place has such high ratings. My husband and I have been here at least three times over the course of six years. The service was slow EVERY time. On our first visit we ordered a alcoholic drink that took forever to get; when we asked we were told that they ran out of the ingredients for the drink and had to run over to Lucky Supermarket - we were patient and rolled with it. On our second visit the service was slow, which we inquired about and they said they were shorthanded because a server called in sick - ok, we were patient again. So, last night we decided to try them again after a couple of years of not going here - big mistake. We were seated quickly and given water & warm bread, but then the service went down from there. There were 3 or 4 servers including the owner and the place wasn't overly busy, but it took too long to receive our simple drink order AGAIN and we didn't even order alcohol this time. Our food order took a LONG time too. I ordered he Mista Salad and Flatbread appetizer which was good. My husband ordered the Caesar Salad and asked for grilled chicken to be added. His salad was completely lackluster. The croutons were straight out of a box and the chicken was over cooked. It was so overcooked in some sections that it actually resembled beef jerky - not edible. And, no surprise, it took forever to get the bill. My husband actually had to go inside and ask for it since we were sitting outside. There are far too many wonderful restaurants in the Bay Area for you to waste your time and money here. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

Had a great birthday celebration at Fiore yesterday! My family and I love coming here. Their food is absolutely delicious and I love their plating! They put a lot of thought into their food presentation. Here's what I've tried there : Sauvignon Blanc- One of my favorites! Has a tropical type after taste. Pasta with crab and shrimp- I had this last time we came. It was okay. I like a good, creamy alfredo sauce and this didn't meet the mark. Swordfish- This is my favorite dish here. They grill the fish perfectly and I love the white wine caper sauce. The grilled veggies and potatoes are a nice accompaniment. Caprese- Delicious! It was a little overdressed but everything else about it was good. They include a little salad in the middle along with the tomato and mozzarella. Watermelon salad- So refreshing! Pesto dip- If you check-in on Yelp, you get this dip for free! Don't miss out on that one. The creme brulee here is outstanding. Perfect sugar crust and custard. Also tried the blueberry cheesecake. OMG! The whole experience was wonderful. The pumpkin ravioli were yummy. Thanks to Yelp, we had the complimentary olive tapenade--so good. The waiter took a shine to us, and brought stuffed mushrooms with crab in Marsala sauce so we could try it. I'll definitely order it next time. The salmon and spinach salad was just lovely. Went here about 6 tonight. It was busy. A few tables open when we got there. There were two people that were in front of us. Both groups passed several times by employees. No greet for a while. They talked to the two in front of us and sat them right away. There were tables open and one with a reserved sign. The girl came up to me, no hello or nothing. I told her two please and she said we have no room at all tonight. Like I said only one table had a reserved sign. How are you fully booked at 6? Fiore is a diamond in the rough in a little city that can't seem to get any decent restaurants other than a few good sushi places or Dickey's BBQ. I've lived in Concord my whole life and there has never been a restaurant with more class, variety, and overall worth than Fiore. It is an Italian restaurant but the chef adds his own spin to it and I've been back numerous times to try nearly every dish, and the results have been consistent each time. They used to have petrale sole which was buttery but not too buttery--just the perfect amount of salty. I usually get the fresh fish of the day if the sole is not available and sometimes I order the salmon. The portions are satisfying but not overbearing. The grilled vegetables were squash, zucchini, mushrooms, etc and very good, not oversalted or overcooked, The soups here are usually some sort of finely blended vegetable, from potato leek to butternut squash, to broccoli, and they have been amazing every time, I like the variety they offer. The bread they serve is something like potato bread or a similar texture and comes served warm with butter. They have an assortment of wines and the server will help you pick out something to your likeness. Great service! Great food! One of the best Italian places in Concord! We decided on Fiore's for our anniversary dinner, since we had never been, and made reservations online. My husband was home earlier than expected so we drove over about 45 minutes early to see if we could be seated sooner (but were also prepared to wait if we needed to honor the reservation time) When we walked in and explained that we were early, there was no hesitation or inconvenience voiced to seat us right away. My husband and I both ordered a glass of wine, and the bruschetta trio to start. The mushroom brushetta wasn't as tasty as I had hoped but the other two were very good! We both ordered an entree from the "seafood" section (Gamberi Fiore and Vongole Cosse) and both were delicious and cooked well. Dessert was AMAZING! We ordered the creme brulee and the daily special, which was a ice cream mouse cake, and it was to die for! Overall the price was very fair and the service was good. Totally exceeded our expectations! This little unassuming gem is tucked away in a strip mall and we decided to stop for dinner since it serves not only Italian but Mediterranean cuisine. I started with a small beet salad and it was soooo good! The cheese topping and dressing took it over the top! We also had stuffed mushrooms and man oh man! were they delicious!! For entrees husband ate a penne pasta with chicken and sun dried tomatoes and it was so good and the chicken was very tender. I had the special with tiger shrimp and scallops and wow! Fiore delivers as an equally great or better upscale restaurant, but with a more intimate setting, plenty of free parking, and reasonable prices. If you are missing traveling, go no further than Fiore... the staff bring the best of European cuisines in our own back yard. If you have to drive a bit to get to the restaurant, it is well worth the trip. We were especially elated that patio dining had reopened in time to celebrate Father's Day.
