We decided to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary by having dinner at Fiore Restaurant last Tuesday night ! Habib too care of us that night and made it enjoyable ! Everything was absolutely wonderful ! This place is excellent for date night. The wait staff was amazing, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was romantic. We started with the pesto dip, it was unbelievable. Sweet and savory, a must have. The bread served was warm, flavourful and soft with a crunchy crust. The bruschetta was not your typical dish, it was exotic and melted in your mouth, with truffles, artichoke hearts and hints of blue and mozzarella cheese. I ordered the pescatore, not a hint of fish, just deliciousness over rice. Full of muscles, clams and shrimp with a hunk of salmon. My husband ordered the lamb shank, which was extremely rich and tender. We finished with an espresso, the creme brulee and the tiramisu. It was the best tiramisu I have had in a long time. My sister in law and I stumbled on to this restaurant. We had an AMAZING experience. The service by HAMED or HAFED our server was wonderful. He was hospitable, prompt and knowledgeable about the menu. The place was quaint and well kept. Prices were very reasonable; good deal for sure. Finally and most importantly the food was delicious! The short ribs were tasty and juicy and the lasagna was a big portion with a decadent sauce. I highly recommend this restaurant! We will be back soon! read more

The Gamberi Luna and the Caesar Salad were pretty good. My husband loved the Beet Salad.

First time here. Will give another chance but I will say not impressed. Service was not very friendly just ok. Pasta and side salad was $22. I ordered to go, got to work and found no fork or napkins were included. Pasta was ok, the chicken was very tough. After dining at Bella Ristorante, Fiore did not impress. The ambiance is 5 stars, takes you to the Mediterranean! Beautiful setting. The service receives 2 stars... they were polite, but my water glass ran dry, they were very slow and did not offer parmasean...and when I asked for parmasean they had the powder kind, not grated...instead of asking me what amount id like... A HUGE spoonful was dumped onto my pasta. It made the carbonara grainy and heavy, I could not see the dish under the parmasean....The ingredients tasted fresh, aside from the parmasean cheese which was that awful fake parmasean. I had the carbonara with the parmasean sauce and it was flavorless, it was so disappointing after the amazing parmasean cream sauce I had the day before at Bella Ristorante. I wanted to return there, but Bella is closed on Mondays and I heard they were related restaurants... so I thought Fiore would be comparable. It isnt, Bella is on a whole other flavor level! (And it's down the street) It took 15-20 minutes to have our check wrapped up. We had an impatient toddler, to make it worse. They do offer a small kids coloring menu which occupied my son for a bit, that I love and gave them a star for. The beet salad had old beets. You can tell because they become more fiborous/grainy with age. Otherwise the shrimp was cooked well, the cheese was in an awkward ball on top of the salad.... thus made it impossible to incorporate into the salad. It was a big sticky ball. The free olive pesto dip and bread was extremely flavorful, bread warm and my favorite part of the meal. The overpriced kids dish I got my son had zero flavor. It was the butter pasta and it had no butter...and barely any cheese. I felt like this meal wasn't money well spent. I have no problem paying for good food. This food is nothing special special fantastic. It's not bad, but it's nothing to rave about. However, the staff is kind and the place is clean. So, I give them an average rating because the food isn't bad, either. They do plate it beautifully. read more

Ordered 3 meals and 2 desserts for take out. No bread served with meals as at other Italian restaurants. And the tiramisu I ordered was basically a spoonful for $8. My lasagna wasn't that great, mostly sauce that tasted like tomato sauce. read more

First time here and they did not disappoint! Service was stellar, my husband and I don't like to feel rushed, they were perfectly attentive and spaced out our food so we had plenty of time to enjoy the nice evening. We both really LOVED the grilled artichoke and the hummus with Brie. Corkage fee was very reasonable $15! Can't wait to go back! Hubby recommended the halibut with the lobster bisque sauce. Who knew a cute and romantic family owned Italian restaurant would be tucked inside a strip mall? Luckily for me, Yelp helped me this hidden gem. Their menu is simple with classic Italian dishes. Came here on a Tuesday night without reservations. It was pretty quiet. My co-worker and I started off with the parmesan wings, fried crispy, topped with flaky parmesan cheese and a side of creamy ranch dipping sauce. I love chicken wings and this totally hit the spot. We also split a classic caesar salad with crispy chopped romaine hearts and topped with anchovies! Not many places serve it with anchovies and I was happy that they did. We weren't particularly hungry that night so we also split a Penne Gorganzola Penne pasta with chicken breast, sun dried tomatoes, spinach in a creamy gorgonzola sauce. It was delicious and the sauce wasn't too heavy. Our server was nice enough to split the salad and pasta for us. The food was simple yet tasty, the wine was good and the service was great! read more

When Thanksgiving didn't go according to planned, Fiore was there to lend a hand. We walked in not knowing that a reservation wasn't just preferred, it was almost necessary; however, they still very happily seated us at the bar. They were offering a prefixed menu for the holiday; a three course meal offering a plethora of tasty options. I ordered the butternut squash soup. It was thick, crazy creamy, and incredibly delicious. It had the savory/sweet flavor of good squash, plus shredded Parmesan on top. They were serving a traditional turkey dinner, but I opted for the pumpkin ravioli in gorgonzola cream sauce instead. The obviously homemade ravioli were accompanied by spinach and cranberries, and the sauce was so good I had to keep myself from licking the plate clean. For dessert I had a piece of pumpkin pie that was dressed to the nines with chocolate and cherry sauces, and of course whipped cream. As part of the holiday menu they offered us corn bread that came with a whopping helpful of honey butter. Fast forward two days and once again we're back, this time for lunch. The meal started with their complimentary bread, served with olive pesto dip thanks to a yelp check in offer. The bread was good, but the dip was amazing. It had a wide mix of flavors from the olives, nuts, and oils, all throwing a party for your taste buds. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich that comes with a basil pesto spread, and caramelized onions. The chicken was grilled to perfection. It was a tad smaller than what I'm used to on a chicken sandwich, but the good flavor is definitely there. They were very generous with the pest, and with pesto this good the more the merrier. On both occasions one of the owners, Hafid, was there to greet us. He has a charming personality, and like the rest of the staff he was very polite and friendly. Even when we were in for lunch and he was setting up Christmas decorations, he made sure that it wouldn't bother us. Had lunch here today 1st time to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. What a great experience. Our waiter Chris was a genuinely nice guy but also gave us extraordinary above & beyond service. This is a family establishment in a quiet strip mall with some of the best food my family and I have ever had the pleasure to have. The staff is moving non-stop flying to help their customers and take care of them. This is not somewhere to go if you are in a rush. Take your time, savor the flavors, the atmosphere. Had never been before, was So excited to check in and claim my free olive pesto dip. The waitress didn't know what order was mine and then stared at the offer on my phone like she's never seen Yelp before and the owner walks past and doesn't even look at me and says that's for dine in only. I will NEVER go back I'm so angry what a way to treat a new customer! Update: The waitress called me back after I'd been overcharged. She apologized and said she would give me the dip when I came back. They forgot the pita bread in my order but I didn't realize it until I got home, unfortunately. So in the past 6 months i've been to this lovely little (as in the size of the restaurant...not taste or portions) about 20 or more times...I guess you could say that is the ultimate review for the Chef...I have noticed so many repeat visitors at this place because they get IT...Great Food, Good Atmosphere, and Fantastic service. My favorite Item is no longer on the menu, and I was told to just phone ahead and they will go purchase the ingredients for the dish and have it ready for me when i arrive. This was my most favorite restaurant but I'm so very disappointed that the dinner menu & dessert menus have changed. Our favorite things have been removed and my in laws drove out here from Rio Vista for those very things. We were here two hours and then got dessert menus, it takes forever to eat here. Please hire more people or train the bread guys to clear plates and bring out dessert menus. I also beg you to bring back your old menus!! 2.5 hours and still here with a two year old. Not cool. Staff is always so friendly and attentive! I've been here a few different times and I'm never disappointed. They have a great selection of wine and the food is top notch. From the tatse of the food I know it's super fresh. I ordered a tiger shrimp dish with a cream sauce. This sauce is EVERYTHING! I was iffy to try this place. As I've never liked Luna and this place is related to Luna (so is Bravo and Bella). But glad I did. The location is off beaten path in a strip mall next to Kmart and Payless Shoes. We were there for Sunday night dinner and the strip mall was dead. We had the dip and gnocchi for appetizer. Dip is simple with pesto, chopped garlic, olives, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The gnocchi is a bit expensive for appetizer ($9.95) but the mushroom sauce is excellent. Gnocchi is decent but taste like store bought. For dinner we had veal scaloppini with picatta sauce and paella. The picatta sauce can use a bit more tang and the mussels and chicken in my paella were over cooked but overall still delicious. For dessert, we shared creme brulee. It was okay. We didn't really care for the temperature difference where it was warm on top and chilled in the middle. It would've been much better if the entire creme brulee were one temperature. read more

When I have guests come to Clayton "for lunch" I take them to Fiore. Upon arrival, they are somewhat skeptical; it's located near the empty K-Mart in an older shopping center. What A surprise! When available, the seafood ravioli is one of the best meals I've eaten - ever. My favorite "standard" is the lamb sandwich. The salad is extraordinary, for a "house" salad. The wine selection is good and the owner or waiter always has excellent advice on which wine to pair with your meal. The dessert varies but is always good. What a find!! Went to this restaurant last night with friends who live in Clayton. Everything was wonderful! Started with a lovely bottle of white wine. Then had the spinach salad followed by the paella. OMG-delicious. Hubby had the veal piccata and loved every morsel. Presentation was excellent and the service was friendly, warm and efficient. Food is excellent. Not risky or experimental, Fiore majors on hearty, old-school Italian. It's also very convenient for me and has become a bit of a quiet haunt for me to slip in by myself on a regular basis. Staff has always been friendly, gracious and attentive. We enjoyed a fun Moroccan Night at Fiore in mid-April. Food was excellent. Appetizer with a tasty eggplant spread; soup; salad; choice of entree; and choice of dessert. DH and both loved the lamb dish. We usually find that baklava is too sweet so opted for the other dessert choice which was a couple of small crepes with a sweet topping. Okay, not great. A belly dancer added to the fun of the evening. Our only complaint was that the restaurant is small and we had quite a long wait for a table despite a reservation. I understand that it can be hard to know how long people will stay at their table -- especially when there is an entertaining belly dancer. However, there is essentially no waiting area and it was quite uncomfortable to be waiting for a table and be standing so close to the diners. It has been many years since I have been to Fiore for a regular meal. Look forward to trying again on an evening that is not as busy. read more

This charming restaurant hidden in the Lucky's shopping center is a gem of a find. The food is consistently fresh with good portion sizes and great variety. They have a good lunch menu as well. The seafood dishes are fresh and the olive pesto dip is a delicious appetizer. The owner is always friendly and takes great care to greet and remember his repeat customers. It is cozy with a quaint feel and offers outdoor seating on the patio. We especially enjoyed the 80s themed jazz music while enjoyed our delicious food on our date night. read more

The restaurant is located in a strip mall but don't let that discourage you. When you first enter the restaurant, right away you notice the classy with a touch of modern chic decoration and atmosphere. The paintings on the walls are reminiscent of the 1940's. The service was very good. I had a party of 5 total and did not have a reservation. However the owner was gracious enough to squeeze us in for an hour time window before a reservation. The staff were friendly and polite. The food was unexpectedly good for the area. In contrast to San Francisco Italian restaurants that I have been to, this restaurant would rank about a 3.5 stars. However for the area, this restaurant gets 4 stars. Overall, I would say this restaurant was definitely worth going to if you're in the area and craving Italian. A solid, old-fashioned (in a good way) restaurant with tasty dishes. Dinner is busier than lunch. Note the menu on the website was not accurate. In fact, what we received was a little different from the menu we were handed! But we liked it all, so no problem there. Stuffed mushrooms. A very rich cream sauce begging for you to sop it with bread, and one could taste the crab in the filling. Very 1960's, but deliciously sinful. Caesar. Needs better quality romaine, but a gutsy dressing with a ton of anchovies and garlic! Fettucine Gamberi, choice of crab & tomato sauce or creamy Parmesan sauce. Spouse opted for tomato sauce, very simple gravy but he loved it. Shrimp were fresh and sweet. Salmon. Instead of the listed tomato sauce, this was a mushroom cream sauce, very rich; completely blanketing a thick, nicely cooked filet of salmon that was unusually flavorful. It was not the same sauce that came with the stuffed mushrooms; this was a heavy cream with pan juices. The roasted vegetables were carrot coins and short lengths of Chinese yard-long green beans. A few roasted fingerling potatoes completed the plate. I wouldn't normally mix salmon with a rich cream sauce, but the fish was so flavorful, it stood up to it quite well. I read through some of the Yelp reviews when I chose this restaurant, so I had already decided to try the tiramisu. The menu claimed it used rum-soaked ladyfingers and Marsala, so this enticed us both to share an order. Fiore has espresso, but we stuck with regular coffee. Fiore uses an excellent blend, very strong and smooth, a classic Italian roast. The tiramisu could have used some mascarpone, but it definitely had a good wallop of alcohol. It's one of the better versions we've found, having lost our gold standard from Venezia/Berkeley. We really enjoyed this, and it was an excellent ending to lunch.
