The problems only really started when i moved out. They accused me of not paying the last months rent, which i had and could prove, but this didn't seem to make any difference. Then i couldn't have my deposit back because only one person could write the cheque and they were only in on Fridays. So, each Friday i would call to ask for my cheque. It took three months of Fridays to even find out how much of my deposit they would be returning, let alone get a cheque issued. This was made all the more difficult by the fact that they're based in Kenton and their properties are in London, so if you work, you have no chance of getting out there to see anyone who can do anything about it- you will only ever meet the maintenance man. In the end, even the staff at Ventra were advising me that the only way to speed up the process was to take the company to court! Oh, and they deducted money for a bed i took with me...i took it with me because it was mine!!!! Never again.

He just didn't know how to package my application to the lender due to the way I worked as a contractor. I nearly lost the property. Lucky for me I found Freelancer Financials on Contractor UK forum. One of the posters on their called NorthernladUK messaged me their details after I had posted the difficulties I had getting a mortgage. These guys basically knew exactly what to do and managed to achieve what the other broker couldn't do. My wife and I honestly thought we would not get a mortgage but we did and they made the whole process very easy. I've now recommended several other contractors to them.
