These projects are way beyond what you might do at home. There's no boring finger-painting here. We've experimented with wood, shaving cream, salt, print-making, we've splatter painted, sculpted coffee filters, and collaged - each week is different! My 3yo is so proud of her work. She looks forward to art class, it is a high point of her week. I'm always impressed by how novel the art experience is - and how rooted in art education the projects are. As was mentioned by another reviewer, there is free on-street parking along S, and the rate per class is comparable to other children's "art classes" in the DC metro area where all the kids do is color, cut and glue. The River School is an inclusive, diverse, welcoming, empathetic and loving environment for our sons. Our older son joined the school the next year and stayed through 5th grade. We were impressed with how he embraced a love for learning, developed confidence across all subjects, and benefited from the incredible social-emotional support that is embedded throughout the school's culture. Every teaching team has provided unique insights into our sons' learning styles and supported their very different personalities and learning styles. Outplacement after 5th was great. He started as a "turtle" at 18 months and just finished the "alligator" class at age 4. He loves going to school every day and we continue to be impressed by how much he learns. What this school offers for not only kids with hearing loss but typically hearing peers is very unique and we've had a difficult time finding a school like this anywhere else in the country. We located from Colorado for this school when our son was born profoundly deaf and received cochlear implants at age 1. Our son has constant access to sound with the support from The River School. He gets listening checks daily and with audiology on site if we ever have a problem it gets addressed right away. There is a master's level speech language pathologist in each class. You would never know my son was born with a profound hearing loss because his speech and hearing are better than most kids his age. Thanks to the support of the River School, I never have to worry about my son's hearing loss limiting him in life.

She was accommodating to my schedule (meeting at 8pm) and willing to meet at a specific location that I wanted to shoot. I like her style of teaching and have actually remembered what I learned. The key to getting better, of course, is practising but I feel comfortable with the basics and never shoot in "auto" any more.

I got a degree from this school and it was a complete waste of time and money. I am now in debt…read morefor 30 years with student loans for a degree that is unusable. I never got a job related to my degree and the school did not do anything to help me get a job. Their Career Center is useless. I have never known anyone who got a paying job through the American University Career Center. The Professors I had were also useless. Many of them teach directly from antiquated text books. They do not teach you any technology of any kind and they never taught us any programs that you would need to know for employment purposes. You take an Economics class and they do not teach you how to use econometric software programs. Their curriculum is something out of the 1960s. This school has had several large scandals over the years with school Presidents. Google Richard Berendzen and you can read about his disgusting behavior. The school would not fire him. He was allowed to keep his job as a professor at the school. Also Google Benjamin Ladner. He was another school President.

She fell in love with this college right away. My son got excepted into the SIS program, school of international study. My daughter will major in psychology. She started school at 4 and was reading at 3.She is still unsure of her law degree she also wants to get but she has plenty of time. I'm so proud that next year I'll have two kids in the same prestigious college with tons of history.

The prices were very good too. That particular show was supposed to close on Dec 31st, but it may be worth a call to see if they have extended it. This gallery specializes in selling art to businesses as well as individuals. This is certainly not the type of stuff that you'll see hanging in a college dorm room or in multiple prints at a poster store.
