We were all planning on staying at Quinta Real. We had booked transportation, restaurants, tours, tastings, a full four day itinerary that we had spent months crafting to try and make perfect for this very special occassion in a very special city. This was all upended when bad weather rerouted our flight, missing our connection, with no viable options to rebook an entire group of 10 people in time to enjoy the trip. My wife was devastated, in tears, the trip she had been looking forward to all year completely ruined at no fault of her own. I called to see what Quinta Real could honor our reservation by booking a different date, a credit, a discount, or ANYTHING to ease the pain. We wanted to come back (and we will be, just not with this hotel), and we wanted to continue working with Quinta Real to make this mutually beneficial for both parties. Instead, they could not care less and are keeping the entire thing, four nights to the tune of thousands of dollars in exchange for not having to lift a finger to do anything for 10 guests now. Most important of all, however, is the lack of any professionalism, sympathy, politeness, or kind words under these special circumstances--they simply don't care. The human element of compassion is what I care about when I consider or recommend a place. I do not recommend Quinta Real--they have shown that they lack this element when it matters most.

They told us we had 9 minutes to make the boat, which we could not. This was through Viator, who needs to choose their vendors more carefully. Now they are trying to tell me they will not refund me and insisting the driver was there, yet the hotel logs show he was not. Do a little more homework and find a better company. There are dozens of them offering better prices than this dishonest company.

Gina was very…read moreresponsive and when the turtles hatched, she picked us up and took us to a beautiful beach at sunset, where we were able to help a newborn sea turtle on its first journey to the sea. Gina was extremely knowledgeable, to the point that others, at the beach with their hotels, joined our tour and asked how we had found Gina! She was also full of suggestions about the best restaurants and activities in Puerto. Next time we are here we will definitely contact Gina for a different tour experience!

I gained so much knowledge and insight Mitla is the second-most important archeological site in the state of Oaxaca in Mexico, and the most important of the Zapotec culture The site represents the most developed architecture of the Zapotec; it is the product of the syncretism of Mixtec and Zapotec designs Surrounded by the mountains of the Sierra Madre del Sur, the archeological site is within the modern municipality of San Pablo Villa de Mitla. While Monte Albán was the most important politically of the Zapotec centers, Mitla became the main religious one in a later period as the area became dominated by the Mixtec.

It was pretty hot with not much shade to cover us, and I had trouble focusing on his speech after a while. The history here, however, is really cool and it was neat to explore the different rooms and tunnels. The steps are incredibly steep, so be careful going up and down. One of the elder folks on our tour fell going down the steps. I wish this had been an earlier stop so I could've focused better on it.

Was really beautiful and scenic, we learned about the area and the history of the turtles and the culture within the Playa San Augustanillo community. We saw many dolphins, humpback whales and so many turtles on our tour. We were also able to swim in a beautiful very clear area of the ocean 1/2 mile to 1 mile off shore as well as going snorkeling in an area right off the beach. Seeing puffer fish and other amazing fish. The owner is a very bright hearted person who speaks English so you will be very satisfied with the communication and he is an honest businessman. This is a small fishing community so you will not find huge commercial tour companies, this is an excellent option for anyone looking for whale watching, dolphins and turtles. We even got to swim with the turtles and saw a little baby turtle up close in its natural habitat. Really excellent excursion!

After reading good reviews on here, we decided to book the Bioluminescence tour with them. He was…read morevery responsive and booked my tour the same day but I really regret it. They took us to a lagoon that was very far away (almost an hour). I thought they would have taken us to Lagoon Manialtepec which is the popular one and I am guessing there are more planktons in that one. We couldn't really see the plankton in the lagoon we went to No one seemed impressed by the tour. It was kinda sad. Also, the tour guide gave us almost no information on it! It was more transportation. Overall, waste of money! Our hotel recommended lalo ecotours so check them out instead! Ok update: he has offered a 50% refund and apologized for what happened but we came to the conclusion that our tour did not go as deep in the lagoon as he is supposed to to be able to see the plankton. Which is what I had assumed since I saw many tour boats going further. Roberto was helpful and solved our problem but next time I'll make sure we go with him in the tour

He is able to give the tour equally in Spanish and English, providing facts and local tips to everyone on board. Besides seeing multiple humpback whales and dozens and dozens of dolphins, Roberto was friendly and affable while showing us the best spots for swimming, snorkeling and beaching. This tour is a must do to a see (and swim!) with the local wildlife. Nothing beats an early morning ocean boat ride with a small group and local expert.
