Yay!

First time for everything....my colleagues were talking about this so I decided to try this out. Here was my experience on an early Friday evening. AMBIANCE: Parking: Street parking, there's also structured parking on top of the building over (look for the ramp) Seating: 1 table with about 4 chairs outside and a few inside. Feels: It's not the most popping place in Honolulu and as usual, be cautious. It's near a lot of mechanic shops and random eateries but across from the community college. The space is simple. You got some plants, a table, tv, and a room decorated with news articles and enlightening quotes. Apparently it can be family friendly but a general place to just chill out and meet someone new. A pretty good hidden gem. FOOD & DRINKS: Kava Bowl (Cup) ($5) I guess they raised the prices but no worries. I full cup of kava....basically a bitter taste but nothing horrible kinda like drinking plain tea or black coffee. The effect for my first come numbed my mouth a bit and the second kept me pretty mellow. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Now here's the thing, it could either be the good vibes from Daya or the kava but at the end of the day I enjoyed the story talking and lessons discussed. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 stars. My oh my.... I don't think it's the kava talking either. The price seemed reasonable, vibes were pleasant, and experience was good. I can see myself coming back here. For those that are looking for an alternative fix from alcohol or that Devil's lettuce...give this a go! TIPS: * On Fridays he does serve food.

First of all we were pretty sketched out finding this place. It was closing so we weren't able to sit but we were able to get a bottle of this Kava tea. We passed around this milk-tea looking thing and just took wiff of it like any other sus thing. "Okay smells like dirt. Aiite, lets drink this for later." Half hour later at a restaurant, two of us were feeling a subtle high and we didn't know where it was coming from. Two out of three were extremely happy for some reason. Food tasted great af. Was it the alcohol we drank? And why was it just two of us? At that time we didn't know but we tracked back to the things that two of us did that day to feel this way. Turns out it was because we took a wiff of the tea and we got high accidentally. Man this a good high - and we didn't even drink it yet. We feel so chill. Thank you Kava, we will be back very soon. Six stars.

If your in the mood for a relaxing enviorment with great company. Simply put you have to try Fiji Kava. Being a "noob" to the Kava experience, I have to say it was a unique flavor. Yet very enjoyable. For those who have not tried Kava before, well it is totally worth it. Kava, also known as yaquona or grog, is a mild analgesic, diuretic and stress reliever. It is prepared using the root of the piper methstyicum plant, part of the pepper family. Drinking it will make your body lethargic, tongue tingly and head fuzzy. A feeling of "yes, all is right in the world" will pervade. Kava also occupies a central place in everyday life in Fiji. The drinking ceremony is a crucial element of diplomacy and all of Fiji's important events are distinguished with kava consumption. Although non-alcoholic, it is the social lubricant, the deal sealer, the friend maker. Where there is a village, there is kava. Daya is a fantastic host and welcomes you to enjoy the Kava experience. He will explain the traditions and how it is made, what health benifits it has to you, and more. And when he cooks, it is some of the best Vegitarian food around. As for parking, Across from Honolulu Community College ( H.C.C.); Drive into the parking lot Between 1001 and 1007 Dillingham. Circle to the backside of 1007 take your right like your heading back to Dillingham, Just don't pass the exit gate. And you will find him on the right side. Under the Ramp. Just look for the Christmas lights.

Stopped by to pick up some kava tea! I wanted to bring a little relaxation on the plane back to Cali.! The owner was very thorough in teaching me how to strain the tea.! I would've totally ruined it cause I thought it could be served hot! Anyways! He was genuine in his thoughts & words in regards to my questions! I left happy! Will be back for sure!

What an awesome experience! Our family came in for the evening to gather and celebrate a birthday. Daya welcomed us with true aloha, gallons of Kava and more food then we could eat!! It was totally relaxing to sit around and talk story, laugh and listen to some music as we ate and drank without a care in the world! Daya gifted our birthday girl with a lovely necklace and hand crafted pendant. He is such a generous spirit, always making sure we were doing good! Daya and Fiji Kava are a little gem for sure! Thank you so much for the memories Daya! Many blessings to you for years to come!!

Kava drink

The owner talked to me like I ask for a free drink. The drink was nasty and overpriced.

Trekked from Chinatown to find this place - it was well worth the adventure. Daya is such a sweet man - When in Oahu again we'll be back!

Very disappointed considering this is my first time. The barista ended up being able to make an Americano and latte for me, however the latte was very milk forward not a good ratio of milk and espresso, must be because the was low on beans but okay. The ambiance here is great though! A very picturesque place! There are also cameras on two tables available and they tend to post it on their instagram which I find so cute! There are also books available if you want to read. Overall, very interactive spot and would've been a better experience if more drink options were available today. I'll come again next time to redo my review and give it another try.

The other tables are in the middle and others on the other side of the shop. There are some tote bags, books, pictures, and more around. We felt this gave the place an eclectic and cute feeling to it. The menu has some options and did not feel overwhelming. There were some neat options on the menu such as the Tiramisu Latte and some matchas like the Golden Hour matcha. I decided to get the Strawberry Bonbon drink, which was espresso, chocolate, and strawberry. It was this or the Golden Hour matcha, but the matcha would be about $10 for a small. The Strawberry Bonbon was good! It was like a chocolate covered strawberry in a drink. The owner was also very nice, and talked story for a bit while making the drinks. We will definitely try to make it back to try some of the other drinks!

The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between lively and cozy, with a steady buzz that still feels welcoming. The staff were kind and patient despite the rush, and even with a packed crowd, my drink was ready in under five minutes. Hapa Honey Matcha Latte: 5/5 Mixed with their local artisan honey lillikoi syrup, the Hapa Honey Matcha latte is topped with macadamia nut pineapple cold foam and drizzled generously with local hawaiian honey. The lilikoi and pineapple beautifully balanced the earthiness of the matcha with a bright tropical twist while the macadamia elevated the flavor profile with a creamy nuttiness. Every sip was perfectly sweet without overpowering the matcha's natural umami depth. I also loved the little "Aloha" written in honey on top of the foam - such a cute and thoughtful touch from the baristas! Poʻai absolutely lives up to the buzz with their creative island-inspired drinks! From the thoughtfully crafted flavors to the quick service even during a rush, everything felt intentional and well-executed. This cafe is the kind of spot that makes for a memorable last stop on a trip and is definitely my go-to matcha spot in Oahu. Highly recommend showing some love to this local gem!

I ordered a flat white while my wife ordered an Alohamora, a matcha drink with coconut syrup, cocnut milk, matcha, liliko'i coconut foam, and lime zest. The espresso shot in the flat white was strong and the steamed milk on top was nice and foamy. I only tried a small sip of the Alohamora and liked that it wasn't overly sweet and the matcha wasn't too bitter. I was thinking about picking up a small bite from the pastry case but decided against it once I saw the pricing: a small coffee cake muffin was priced at $8. I understand that local businesses have to charge more to survive, but this was a new record high for me, especially given the size of the pastry. Outside of food and beverages, the space had plenty of seating -- with both a low table with 8 seats and tall table with 12 seats in the room adjacent to where you order and pickup your drinks. The cafe seems like a good place to get work down: the music isn't too loud, there's free WiFi, and there's a single bathroom left of the ordering counter. If you're in this part of town, I suspect you're probably here because of the pastries and baked goods at Mille Fête. If so, definitely head next door to try out a matcha drink from Po'ai.

Their guidance from online ordering to communication over the phone and text, they made our event successful and memorable. There was 5 of us , with a moderate appetite. So, We went with two orders of the "Catering - Sandwiches TO GO" and one order of the "Catering - Scones TO GO". Then our choice of their teas: 1oz Sakura Cherry Rose and 1oz of their Cookies and Cream, which is great with milk and sugar btw. 1oz =at least 12 pours of the tea. If you want 2oz =24 pours of tea. The sandwiches were also delicious, a cute tiny bite of flavor. Which to this day I wish I ordered more since I'm more of a savory girlie. You can choose the sandwiches from their catering or seasonal menu and it comes in 4 pieces. We ordered: Sandwich flavors 24 pieces 1 Sweet egg salad (4) 1 Smoked Salmon with Dill Creme (4) 1 Nutella & Strawberry (4) 1 roasted veggies & hummus (4) 1 Crab & Cheese (4) 1 Cucumber & Avocado (4) My personal Favorites were the Smoked Salmon with Dill Crème and Roasted veggies & Hummus. The scones only available flavors were vanilla bean & earl grey and it also comes with potted cream and jam packed in a to-go cup.
