I went here this summer and did not know what to expect. It was kind of hard for me to find as someone who was just living in the Boston area for the summer but just ask someone for directions; don't be like me! Anyway, this is basically a bunch of hippies with art projects and it goes on for a few blocks. They have a list of principles that basically have a bunch of golden rules, like anyone can participate, everyone is welcome, etc. I got a good sense of community from this place; it had a nice positive vibe! There were a lot of kids here and they seemed to be having fun! Don't take your kids here though if you are a parent who does not want your children to be exposed to punky artsy people or hippies or people wearing those bikinis that look like boobs (saw all these things). But I think it's fine for most kids... I didn't see anyone doing anything there that a role model wouldn't do! I just figured I would give a fair warning. The artists were pretty much all super nice and ready to have a conversation with anyone who comes up to look at their art. There were some really creative cool projects. It's pretty fine artsy; the kind of art that maybe isn't executed like a Rembrandt but is fun and interesting. I think the average person would probably spend 45 minutes to one hour here but you could spend longer... It's free but you can donate money if you want. read more
