My favorite item is not on the menu but you can ask for it. It is the California omelet with Avocado and Bacon. My husband loved his grits and pork belly last time. He didn't even share. Our Vegan in laws were impressed with the menu too. The coffees and lattes are so so good. Try the lavender honey one. It was a treat to just pick it up and smell it. The vegan Benedict was awesome with great flavors, although it was just a tad bit salty for my taste. The vegan hollandaise was great though. I highly recommend. As a Chinese person, I've had some stunning congee in my lifetime so I think the congee itself was made decent enough. The texture is spot-on, and the most impressive part was the seitan which was soft and flavorful. If you're craving congee or just something really nourishing, I'd say this is a great option! We got two antioxidant juice flights and to be honest I expected a bit more for the price! Cute brunch spot in PB. No parking lot but not too hard to find street parking in the area. I loved the sound of everything on the menu and had a hard time narrowing down my options. For drinks, I had the lavender white hot chocolate off the winter special men and loved it. I could have done without the dried lavender buds on top though. I'm not sure who would like a mouthful of lavender in their drink. I ended up scooping them out. My partner had the antioxidant mimosa flight and it was a fun experience, he said he felt a light buzz from them. For food, I was torn between sweet or savory. Our waiter was very helpful and told me I could get a half order of French toast to replace the potatoes that comes with the salmon benedict (on focaccia) which was perfect. My partner got the winter special shrimp katsu sando and my friend ordered the short rib benedict. It took a while for food to come out and when it did, we didn't have any utensils to eat with. Not a huge deal. However, all of our food was lukewarm to cold. Of course I expect the salmon to be cold, but the poached eggs and hollandaise were as well. My friend said her short rib was also cold, as was the shrimp sandwich. She also requested her eggs to be cooked medium but it came out runny. This was a bit disappointing since the restaurant is all covered outdoor seating so we wanted hot food to warm us up. The best thing about the benedict was the spot on hollandaise sauce. We wish the side potatoes were crispier. Fries were yummy and we all loved the house made spicy ketchup. The shrimp katsu sando was good too but kind of small. They ended up giving me potatoes in addition to a single French toast. I would have preferred to pay a lower price and not get potatoes. The French toast was fine. Loved the fig jam - we actually asked if they sold them because it was so yummy. However, the bread itself was a little dry and the maple syrup was too thick. Years ago this was my go-to brunch spot in SD, but much has changed. Avoid. The food is now underwhelming across the board: the potatoes I loved are mushy and dry, the "brioche" french toast no longer uses thick bread, the burrito is downright inedible. Kitchen also made several mistakes, e.g. a missing substitution (not our server's fault). Ambiance is less cozy than I remember -- they've cleaned up a bit, but the decor has been yassified in the process. Maybe that's your thing. The star is just for the service, which was nice, but the front of house is clearly understaffed. Go somewhere else. This ain't it anymore. read more

One of my new favorite places to get brunch!! My friend and I came here on a Sunday morning to get breakfast and it's amazing!! Friendly staff and service. They have so much on the menu too if you aren't feeling breakfast food. They have sandwiches, soup, etc! It's super cute there too! You almost feel like you are in a tree house! We also tried the chai tea latte, which was typical. Service: We went on a weekday morning to be seated right away; weekends have waits of an hour or more. Our server was friendly, giving recommendations, and attentive, checking frequently if we needed water refills or condiments. Atmosphere: Although we were sat right away, the place was popping. I got the Traditional Benedict on gluten-free bread with the upgraded breakfast potatoes (comes with arugula, parmesan, and white truffle oil for an additional $2.25). The Benedict was delicious and the gluten-free bread was great as well (some gluten-free breads tend to be dry). A great place for breakfast/brunch in PB! There's plenty of free 2 hr parking nearby, and there is a ton of outdoor seating which is so nice for the area it's in. I took my friend for breakfast before going to get our nails done for her birthday, and the waitress overheard and brought her a birthday coffee cake with a strawberry rose on top and chocolate sauce writing out happy birthday.
