I have had frequent problems with Huntington freezing my credit and checking account card for purchases I make which they claim are not ordinary or suspecting fraud. For example, yesterday I had a purchase of $1.95 that froze my account and then I had to call in fraud protection to have it reinstated but then it happened again. The person who said they were the banker and there was no one else to talk to that it did not happen. My wife is a Huntington card member and she says it's never happened to her. My question was is there something about my account that is causing fraud protection to be overly sensitive. A person that was helping me came back with very lame and unhelpful arguments why this was happening and would not check into my account. She then cut me off and said she had to go help somebody at the drive-in that point. I said I would try to find someone else to talk to. In fact this has happened so many times I am simply going to find another place to save my money. Gary F

Recently hacked, I went into the branch needing to close my account and open another one. Upon arrival, I was the 2nd customer in line, and 1 customer was at the counter with a teller, as another teller was putting her drawer together. The way it's set up, we were standing right outside the doors of the two bankers who were working. In one office, the left office if you're facing them, the banker and the manager spoke about lots of stuff, some business related, then, about how many pairs of dress pants she had. The door was wide open, so, it wasn't hard to hear, and it's a fairly small space. Then, the other banker was in her office - door closed, scrolling her phone. She may have been on lunch, and I have no problem with that...The manager exited the other banker's office, walked past us, no greeting of any kind, again, small space, and he's a sizable guy, so, he's navigating past customers, and not speaking at all. The other customer that was in front of me finished up his business and the teller says, "Oh, that was easy, I can take that any day!". My turn, I walk up, and to be relatable/break the ice, I say, "I'm sorry, mine isn't going to be so easy, but, I'll try to make it as easy as possible!" (with a smile!) Wide flat eyed smile from her. Ok. So, I proceed to tell her that my Acct is locked, I live in North Carolina now, and am in town for a visit and and customer care said I need to come into a branch to close my Acct & open a new one. She says, "I can close your Acct today, but, I don't have a banker available to open a new one." Hmm...I'm the only customer in the bank at this point (with my husband), and the manager is in his office, and the other 2 bankers are scrolling their phones. I tell reiterate that I don't live in OH anymore, I've moved to North Carolina, and I'm only here through the weekend. She tells me that she would send me to another Springfield location (North St already told me they had no availability either - a different review), but, she said, other Springfield branches were calling them so she knows that they don't have anyone. She could try Beavercreek or Huber Heights for me and "I can understand your inconvenience, but I can't just make availability." (she actually said that to me). Umm. What?! I had to just walk away, past 3 bankers sitting in their offices. Unreal. Again, no other customer in the bank by this time. Customer care advised that this should not have happened, that because of the high priority of my situation, someone should have helped me. I could easily bank with an option that is everywhere, and this level of customer service, or the lack thereof, definitely had me considering those options. I was able to get in at a Dublin, OH location for the next day - see that review for a stellar customer service review. Do better Huntington Bank, Bechtle Rd. You aren't doing favors for customers because you came to work. Absolutely unreal experience on Thursday, September 7th. What could she have done? She could have stepped away from her drawer, or called the scrolling bankers, and told them what was happening, and asked if they would be able to help. That's what I would've done, and have done, when I've been met with customers in unusual situations. Take the customer service to another level.

Richwood bank is not customer service oriented. I have been banking with Home City Federal Savings…read moreBank for over 30 years and never had an issue. I would go into Home City, say this is my goal, and they would figure a way to assist me with obtaining that goal. Richwood purchased Home City in 2019 and I have had a horrible experience since that point. I had a title issue with my home that was financed through Home City. Home City extended my loan out 1 year to allow me to get the issue fixed and try to get refinanced. The people at Home City advised they could continue to extend my loan out for a small fee until I was ready to refinance. Never missed a payment. My Home City loan was due June 1st 2019. My family and I are trying to move into a new house. We were under contract and in order to not pay closing costs we tried to extend the Home City loan out. Richwood did extend it out for 30 days (although they made it sound like it was such an inconvenience). The initial house we tried to get fell through, but now we are under contract again, due to close at the end of August. Richwood will not extend the Home City loan out any further. Thus, I have to pay over 3700 for closing costs to Richwood for a house I will be in for less than 30 more days (it is a $100 fee to extend the loan). Why would Richwood do this to a long time, dependable customer? Maybe it is because I choose not to go with them to finance my new home at a 6% interest rate. That is a worse rate than one of those internet based lending firms that throw money to anyone, which quoted me at 5.35% (the rate I got was 4.3%). Do not agree to a mortgage with Richwood until you have shopped around, you will overpay. I will end this with a quote from another disgruntled Richwood customer, "It is tough to do business with a bank that is stuck in no man's land. They are too big to be little, and too little to be big. That is a dangerous place for a banking institution to be."

I pulled into the drive-thru lane (the green open sign was still on) 10+ minutes before closing, there were 2 cars ahead of me but there should have been ample time to process 3 quick drive-thru transactions. Unfortunately the car directly in front of me did not have a quick transaction or departure from the lane so when I pulled up to the window it was 5:01. The branch employees had already shut down the tube and video monitor so despite my waiting 10+ minutes and queuing up well before their closing time and when the sign clearly said OPEN I was not waited on. I stopped into the branch today to address the issue and was greeted by a customer service manage who was completely unapologetic and had nothing but excuses as to why what happened was okay and not their fault or responsibility. She said they could not see me in line bc they can only see the car directly in front of the drive-thru window and the didn't shut the tube down until 5. I'm sure that was true but it doesn't make what happened okay. If I was inside the lobby in line would all the tellers shut down at the turn of the clock and not wait on the customers who are still waiting in line? Nope! If it wasn't for the great customer service from the bank's 800 # I would definitely be taking my business elsewhere.
