I cannot say enough good things about Chase's main branch here in Lexington! Toward the end of a…read morerecent vacation my debit card was compromised, but (stupidly) it was the only card I had taken with me so I couldn't necessarily turn it off. Instead, I transferred almost everything into savings and hoped for the best, then called customer service just to have a record of the conversation in case there was a dispute later as to why I didn't turn the card off. Upon returning to Lexington the first thing I did was visit the Main Street branch to cancel the card, and upon doing so I realized that the illegitimate transaction combined with an automatic payment had resulted in a small overdraft. Desmond was the person at the desk when I arrived, and he could not have been more patient or helpful; he also talked me through various tips and tricks within the Chase app that could help me manage my accounts better in the future. He was so kind and sweet - exactly the person I needed to encounter after a somewhat stressful return strip! On top of that, I needed to submit a secure message about the situation, so a manager (?), Anita, stepped in to print the form and talk me through the steps of what we were doing. Truth be told, I could have done every bit of this online, without assistance from real life humans. However, I am still a relatively new Chase customer, so this having been the first hiccup I've experienced with the company I felt more comfortable going to a branch to make sure their processes weren't vastly different from other banks I've been with in the past. I frequently mourn the loss of good customer service in modern society, but Desmond and Anita completely hit it out of the ballpark! They had no knowledge of the other tough tasks in store for me today, yet they made this a seamless and simple exchange, all while renewing my faith in humanity. THANK YOU!

There are lots of details to address when relocating, but the one decision that was a no-brainer was choosing a bank. Since I had such a great experience in the past at Bank of the Bluegrass, why would I go anywhere else? Many of the employees are still around and they have always treated me like family. You'll get the personal service from a smaller bank that's often lacking at those mega-banks. They now have three convenient locations for all your personal and commercial banking needs: Southland, Romany Road in Chevy Chase, and the downtown branch on High Street. The staff welcomed me back with open arms (figuratively in these COVID times) and I look forward to many, many years of doing business at Bank Of the Bluegrass.

I got an Uber to take me to the drive thru so I could cash two small checks which I'd been holding on to for two months. At the drive thru I couldn't reach the window so I had to get out if the car to walk to the window. I left my walking cane in the car and asked the driver to wait there just a minute. As I walked to the window the Uber driver zoomed off with my walking stick! I git my money and then walked around the bank to see if the Uber driver was back there. He wasn't. I was despondent because I can only stand for a few minutes and now my walking cane was gone. There was no place to sit down in sight. I was about to collapse when Mr. Jones came out of the bank and offered to let me sit in the lobby a few minutes while I called for another Uber. This was a life-saving act on his part. I am forever indebted to Nr. Jones. If he had not come along and offered this help I light have collapsed and sustained real injuries.

He said that will also happen occasionally with large checks, "such as $20,000 checks." I asked, "What about $10,000 checks?" He said, "Maybe. I'll have to check with the manager." What? Every time I deposit a large check they're going to put a hold on it? Even if it's from a very safe, known organization like the state of Kentucky? When I opened my account, nobody gave or sent me any credentials for my account. I waited just over a week and then called them, and the support guy gave me the info I needed to create an online account and log in. Well, almost everything I needed. I had to call back and ask why it wasn't working, and the answer was that the account number I needed was the last 10 digits of my account number, not the entire account number. From what little I know so far, seems like they operate more like a bank than an actual credit union. Time will tell if I continue to use this place or not. I'm just not sure yet. They do seem to have a nice app.

When I created it, I opted not to allow overdrafts. Turns out they can't handle that, still charged an overdraft fee of $20, then charged me another $10 to process the payment. Would not recommend, there are 1000x better personal banking options.
