I really, really wanted to like my new Mountain Reaper. When I got it home, though, two things were immediately apparent. The magazine rattles in the well, creating a bunch of noise. Not a deal-breaker, but also not something you'd expect from a rifle at this price point.
The really glaring problem is the fact that ALL of the Mlok slots on the hand guard are cut too small. I can't mount any accessories unless I modify the hand guard, and once I do that, I'm concerned they'd disavow any accountability for the outcome. Again, if you're selling a premium rifle, you need to get the fundamentals right. Mlok is an industry standard. How do you design, build, and ship a rifle with an Mlok hand guard that doesn't met the specs?
And it would be really spiffy if you would return customer emails when they reach out to you about the situation. Again, when a customer purchases a premium product, they're entitled to at least decent service if things aren't as promised. So far, I'm disappointed in both the rifle and the company.
Stuff goes wrong, no matter how good you and your intentions are. I get that. But it's what you do to make things right that really matters. The ball is in their court. Based on my experience thus far, I'm not overly hopeful. read more
