Via the staff and wandering around I discovered Tamalin Baumgarten and Heidi Lang Parrinello - Both HUGELY talented artists with very accessible work. I'd bought a few nice pieces of wampum jewelry for my wife and one of Heidis smaller pieces ( which was sold, but she did another one - for a SUPER reasonable price, I might add...)but decided to Purchase a larger piece by The same artist for Christmas- the shipping cost was high, but it is fair and there was no sales tax! they called me to see if I wanted it expedited - super thoughtful, as usual. The owner is very knowledgeable, with a strong interest in textiles, ceramics and crafts. She travels during the winter in order to find new emerging artists, but she also features the best local artists. Prices run the gamut from affordable to out of sight. Openings are fun and friendly. The staff is really helpful, too. This gallery has stood the test of time, and it deserves a shout out. On the red walls you might discover a zebra nonchalantly posing in a box. Or, perhaps an extravagant floral headpiece atop a beauty's head. My favorite this year was the addition of finely created Vineyard landscapes. When I first came upon Horowitz's work, I imagined his pieces in an elegant traditional home. He captures the real essence of Vineyard, the rarely observed locations unlike many other art works traditionally offered here. I always feel better after a walk around in this Gallery. It is a bit pricey but reasonable and there are still quite a few pieces that I wish I could have taken home with me, especially the Paul Hamilton ice cream pieces. The owner was extremely knowledgeable about the artists and recommended others for us to check out.
