Last week Fidelity New Haven made me an appointment with a particular rep for today. I showed up at the appointed time only to be told that the rep hadn't come in today. They looked for someone else who could see me, but after 20 minutes still couldn't find anyone. This office is an embarrassment--completely unprofessional and incompetent. read more

Fidelity offers a web site to check the various stocks and bonds invested in. Sadly the numbers offered on the web site are not accurate and if you make a decision based on these numbers which could be way off you may end up with a big loss as I did. I check daily and do a cut and paste to a spread sheet. Easy to see any issues. I called to talk to a rep and they quickly passed me to a supervisor. the supervisor stated he would check and get back to me. After a month I called back and was told the ticket was closed. Nice. Avoid the issue and simply close the ticket. Next stop is a lawyer. read more

What a waste of time! ! ! I called and scheduled and appointment, when I arrived I was told that I was scheduled to see was gone for the day and I didn't have an appointment. There was no one to assist me. If I wanted to come back they would give me an appointment for next week. Warning do your homework when selecting a financial investment firm as you will need to rely on them in good times as well as bad times. Use FINRA to look up anyone that you deal with at Fidelity (or any other firm for that matter). Also take the extra time to use FINRA to look at the companies that the reps worked at before Fidelity. In some cases you may find that these previous employers have had complaints/actions filed against them and they have paid fines. The experience with Fidelity on-line was also a very mixed bag - some good but most were average. I got the impression that very junior employees were placed on the phone for support calls or on-line to support interactive chat. After the lackluster remote support experience we contacted the New Haven CT branch of Fidelity and the customer support experience went down hill fast. We ultimately wound up going to another brokerage (a publicly traded company with shareholders to report to). Do yourself a favor and search for any on-line consumer reviews of Fidelity. You will probably be amazed at how many bad reviews relative to good or neutral reviews that you will find. It will be easy to find much better options than Fidelity. read more
