I have never been to the location in Wake Forest, where I have not been greeted in a genuine and positive manner. This branch is literally a breath of fresh air. The process of opening an account is seamless, easy as pie. I received my products quickly and have been happy with the smooth transactions thus far.

I received a phone call from an employee with the details. I wasn't surprised as I saw the for rent sign out front. I did not expect a phone call though so I did appreciate that very much for a heads up and as to when it was closing. I made sure to stop and use the ATM before the removal next week. This branch is merging with the one in Wakefield. I'm sure the banking industry is consolidating with more and more banking differently and not needing the in person services as much. Today, I waited over 10 minutes while the ONE employee helped the lady in front of me making multiple deposits, sharing her personal stories and literally no regard to the line forming. There was another employee in an office helping a couple - the drive thru window had no employees and the other offices were empty. Why so understaffed?! The lady who finally helped me (Diane, I believe) apologized for the wait, but was answering two phone calls while helping me. Come on, hire more staff! Only knock is this location has a rather small parking lot that is frequently busy and can be a pain to back out of.

I always find the bankers and tellers to be at best stand-offish , and usually outright rude and condescending. When I went in a year ago to make a fairly large cash withdrawal, the teller asked me what I wanted the money for! I had to tell her that it was none of her business. It's now even worse since COVID hit. Since I don't visit the bank lobby very often, I didn't realize that you had to make an appointment to get a signature notarized. The banker "greeting" customers who enter the lobby must think that her job is to scold any customers who dare to enter without an appointment. I really don't need that when I'm their customer, and if not for their customers they wouldn't have a job!

I've banked with Coastal for over 10 years. Every month my husband deposits cash into my account to…read morepay household bills. He knows my account number and always enters the account number and verifies the name on the account and they accept his cash deposit. This month they required his ID (to deposit into an account whose number he has, whose name he can verify and doesn't get a balance on the receipt) which he didn't have. They turned down $1030 in cash because he didn't have his ID. He does NOT have an account with Coastal and wasn't asking for $ or a receipt. Why is this new rule in existence? The girl I spoke with at the bank said it's to know who is coming into their branches. It's a drive up. Absurd. They also work in a call center set-up and they IM each other in real time, so he had to go through 5 tellers before ONE of them accepted the deposit. And a few of them were snippy at best. I'm shopping around for a new bank because this was the last straw. (Last week I was in the passenger seat, they couldn't see me, so they sent a code to my phone and I had to recite the code verbally to the teller...they can't provide rolled coin, even in the branch, scarcity of locations...etc)

Beware of some unscrupulous products or lending services. Fees and bottomline are not…read moretransparently spoken when you inquire. You'll then need to read extensively and every tedious word on the disclosures to know even the basics of the deal. If you get a tiny credit line they'll unethically fee you even for some value such as 5% of your equity and even if line is not even used! They may ding you such in name of "appraisal" which is not warrented. The deposit accounts may high high minimums in combination with no interest + other fees. So beware. Further this bank has exposed itself to some risky investing in the name of 'being big'.

I have NEVER heard of a bank denying the check out right. It's not fake. No offer to put a stop hold on it and contact the bank. No offer to help or do anything. The manager didn't even come over to say anything, she had the employee do it and no the manager wasn't working with another customer at the time. They just said their system wouldn't except it. If we didn't have some other financial situation with them already, I would have pulled all the money out and left. Save yourself a headache and go to another bank.
